I'm right there will you. I started listening when "Roll Over Beethoven" was released in 1973-I was eighteen. I'm 69 now and still grooving to Jeff Lynne and ELO.
ELO came to Phoenix, Arizona in 1977 on the New World Record tour. I was a senior in high school. The concert was FANTASTIC!!!! I'll never forget it!!!! Pink Floyd was also here about three months before that with their Animals tour. Those were the days!!!!
Love the interactions between Jeff and Richard. You can see Jeff nod “yes” and “no” to Richard at several times during the song. Arranging in the middle of the song - simply genius.
I would sit in nosebleed seats behind the stage with a pillar in my view just to hear this amazing show...chills everytime i here him/them live...true talents...everyone of them🍻
Saw Jeff Lynne and ELO in Sacramento, before Covid hit. Awesome show then and anticipating another great show, this coming October (in Sac, again)! Bought my tickets, last week!
Jeff Lynn is a legend. Still Amazing after 40 years. Never thought this music would live so long or sound so outstanding. Long live live music. Rockin till the day I drop......
I've listening to Jeff's cover of this song for over 50 yrs. My housemates and I would rock out after work everyday to his work. What an artist and what a band.
Back in 1969, I went to see Chuck Berry. He was Amazing!! I was in college at the time. He was.so cool, I got up on stage and danced with him. So many people came up to me and said" Hey you were the chick that got up on stage & danced with Chuck Berry" The cops threw me out but I got back in & danced some more. Those were the Hippie Days. I had a great time.
One of the best Rock and Roll songs put to great orchestration. Many have commented on the great guitar, piano and drums but tune your ear to listen to the great bass licks, sensational.
A Chuck Berry classic played by the legendary musical genius Jeff Lynne. The Beatles also had an excellent version. Nice to see the younger folks appreciate great music (with melodies).
I love them all, but Jeff Lynne’s O version of ‘ Roll Over Beethoven’ is my favorite. Especially seeing vids He played it at his RRHOF induction, all while giving tribute to Beethoven AND Chuck Berry. It’s his as far as I’m concerned.
I remember (barely) see ELO back in the mid 70’s and they rocked this song then. Jeff Lynne is still amazing to this day and deserves every award he is given. His contribution to rock-n-roll is incredible. Thanks Jeff!!!
My dad passed away yesterday and now I'm making a playlist with all the songs he loved and I remember him by. This is one of them. Thank you dad for showing me the greatest artists of all times. Loved, missed and never forgotten 🤘🔥❤
When someone invents a time machine, let me know. Im going to find Jeff and we're going back to the 70s so he can keep on rocking for ever more. I want to be there to see it and hear it.
I think Jeff Lynne really is a modern day Beethoven, with all the greatest composers right there at the top. Simply and truly, an incredible, and timeless artist! Spanning over six decades now - Wow!.
Never get tired of this live show, I have seen this a dozen times. It is amazing that many of the band members are my age and still kicking tail and taking names.
I grew up listening to Chuck Berry, but this has GOT to be the greatest version of that song I have EVER heard. The vinyl record is still in my collection!

Yes your right without a big name like the move he wasn't going to get to the next step , he owes Roy wood a couple of pints .
@@raymondbonington9355 Yes, it allowed him to move on up.

I forgot how much ELO absolutely rocked.
The original ELO had only seven members, including Jeff Lynne but they still rocked.
Rock that guitar Jeff! So good! If I walk into a room and Jeff Lynne is on the radio or tv, I STOP everything I'm doing and just listen/watch.
This absolutely re-defines rock and roll. Amazing music.
