CAR Burglaries: Car Burglars Target Parking Garages, Show Up At Victim's Home

- Car break-in victims say they feel their cars are generally safer parked in a garage than on the street, knowing that smash-and-grabs are a pervasive problem in San Francisco.
And the mayor just sits back and waits for a paycheck every week.
The glass is someone's paycheck
What are you going to do about it peasant?
@@Aigentcy How long is the waiting list for the glass ?
When more than 50% of city's population is at least a misdemeanor criminal then, this type of lenient District attorney and mayor will be elected to help them give them pat on the wrist for even a felon!!!
Just a matter of time a vigilante will take it into his own hands
It is already happening in Chicago. 2 days ago a resident shot and killed a thief as he was stealing a catalytic converter from under a car. I hope he is not charged, especially since the thief tried to shoot him as well.
@@enmodelife Instead of shooting the thief, he should've poured gas or lighter fluid on him, then dialed 911 while he kept a lighter visible
Doubt it. They'll throw you in jail. America wont rise up its all talk
American justice system will pursue and punish the vigilante, but the actual criminal will be made into a victim.
One can hope! 👍
We are paying a lot of taxes to these people to run our city, and they are doing nothing to protect the people. If I don't do my job, I'd be fired!!
Sounds like the solution is that you run for public offer
Sounds like you vote the only rational party, Republican.
Yup i called the officer who took the report of my stolen plate n tell em i have information of the car my plates are on and they said call dmv .dmv tells me call the dept back . Its all a joke.
@Scotty secretly loves Chryslers Totally agree with you. People don't learn 🙄
That would depend on how well connected one is. Feinstein has been running the city for 3 decades with an iron fist. Maybe once she kicks the bucket. SF is filled with money. The problem is those people don’t care until it affects their bottom line and due to long standing relationships it difficult to get them out. Running for office in SF means nothing if one is not old money or has long standing relationships.
Might as well leave your doors unlocked, with nothing in the car. Hopefully they don’t bust your window out of spite.
Many people put notes in the window that say “nothing inside. Don’t waste your time.”
@@FirstNameLastName-wt5to Yup, only place I've seen it was in the San Francisco bay area. If you got your windows smashed, you leave your car unlock with a note.
My approach is to leave nothing in car, and not lock it.
Or leave a bag of chips so they hopefully don't break your window for not having any valuables.
You're thinking like a rational person. They don't even check to see if the door is open. They use a glass breaker that is much faster than using the door handle. They pull the bags out. They don't bother with the door.
San Fransisco is officially crossed of the bucket list.
We don't visit anymore. Too many bad actors on teh streets.
Ask mayor what she think about it? She probably tell you that’s nothing new. Just don’t leave anything in the car.
I used to live in San Francisco, it's one of the reasons why I left.
I left the San Francisco mouse area in March 6 2020
40 years ago I used to think it was a safe, clean, large city
My kid quit his hospital job and moved, due to covid he wasn't allowed to ride the bus
What do you expect when property crime is no longer a crime? If caught, it’s a citation, no different than a parking ticket.
Should just move out SF. 2000 break-in in 30 days...that is crazy!!
These idiots move to a new state than vote for similar people. Just look at Colorado, Texas and now Florida is next.
Yes. Everybody get out of SF. Let me alone in the city 😁

Can't wait to get out of here. Oakland and the city suck.
Take note, whether you live in SF or not: do not leave your insurance/registration info in your glove compartment! You're just giving thieves a second chance at breaking into your property.
Especially now that you can carry it electronically
Let them try. 24/7 surveillance and security floodlights, plus castle doctrine in Texas. Nobody is that dumb. In this state, if you kill someone breaking in to your home, it is perfectly legal.
@@DIVISIONINCISION Sure, but you have to be home to use your gun. Also, if somebody wants to put the effort into robbing you, they'll wait for you to leave the property, cut your power/internet, and you wouldn't know what's missing until it's too late.

alot of American city have rip
Never leave your garage opener in your car. Same thing happened to my friend when they were in Costo. Their car got broken into in Costco lot just to take the garage opener and registration . When they got home they found his son tied up and their house was ransacked. Really sad
Wow!
Problem with that is most cars have the garage door opener built in to the visor. Mine are not programmed though.
That's scary 😨
Nice! more crime with less penalties helps to make a great city! Thank you Boudin
Its the republicans fault OKAY ALRIGHT! 👍🏼

You can’t leave ANYTHING in your car-even an empty plastic bag. Leave NOTHING. The people who do this should get a mandatory 5 years.
2:33 “I gotta tell you Betty, when I go home at night, I just see the sides of the streets LINED with shattered glass, and you just gotta wonder when the city is going to do something, whether it’s ever going to end.”
Unless the city gets tough on crime in general (and not just in specific cases), this crime epidemic WILL continue.
He was wondering when the city was going to clean the glass up, which is different than locking criminals up.
The Bay Area is not safe and it’s not ever going to end.
oh my god, the city spent all the money on janitor's overtimes!
You have to ask, are you willing to change your beliefs that blue states will do anything about this. Democratic policies typically are more lenient on crime and more ‘compassionate’. Are we willing to have more tough sentences to these crimes?
Ca gets what it deserves for continuing to vote for hypocrite, blue politicians.
@@MrDarthvis So we should blame the murder rates in Houston and Miami on Republicans? Be careful what you ask for.
Don't worry - Gruesome will let them all out of jail if they are ever caught!

Let’s give a round of applause to the mayor, DA and the governor for their terrific job at not giving a $h!t
👏👏👏👏👏
This is taking the 'Broken Windows Theory' to a new level.
What a shame! The mayor receives the most highest mayoral salary in the US with $342K/yr. Citizens of SF should reconsider this.
Where is 'Dirty Harry' when you need him.
Talk about foreshadowing, that is when canceling started

I live in an area where there's a ghetto neighborhood 1 mile down the road, they come here to break car windows at night in my underground garage to steal belongings. After the 2nd time my windows were broken I left all my 4 car windows OPEN, with nothing of value inside my car. It worked like a charm, no more broken windows. Of course I remove a fuse from the fuse box that prevents my vehicle from getting stolen or hot-wired.
News alert: if there’s a ‘ghetto area’ just a mile away, guess what? you are also in a ghetto area
(I am not shading you; it applies to me too, and a lot of other bay area residents who are still in denial)

San Francisco, where only the criminal is protected.
what do you expect with a weak mayor like London Breed that doesnt support the police
Useless breed and boudin
But she a strong black empowered whamen of color with pronouns!

@@nz6241 I wouldn't be surprised if Breed is taking a 25% cut of the value of the stolen goods.
You reap what you sow and voted policies that makes these crimes possible.
These things typically pass with 60% of the vote. It’s not like the entire state of CA is far leftist socialist. Most places are red. It’s just that there’s so many young people in the cities. When people have kids they leave and more naive kids who’ve not yet learned about reality come in and vote like idiots.
Doesn't matter who's in office. This crime has been here for since forever.
@@l.r9655 No, it's being not tough on crime. The Peninsula is not as crime ridden as the rest. We know where the crime is coming from.
@@l.r9655 not like this. Thats stupid logic, crime clearly is going up because the police arent being funded properly or respected. Also california is hardly punishing any criminals, its called a catch and release policy, look it up.

Breed said don't lock her up becasue she is trying to do her best to free her brother out of jail.
This is why I made a copy of my car registration with the address blacked out. CHP/police have access to these records with their in-car computers and will confirm your address with your driver's license address.

We need to focus on nancy and grandson newsom enough already
Citizens of SF should unite and file a lawsuit against the city!
With all these going on for months, amazingly none of the City Hall, DA and police department is doing anything about it, while keep collecting taxes! Why???

Getting worse than LA. I got my car broken into 3 times in 2 different places.
I’m stationed in Central Valley, only four hours from the bay area. Never been on the west coast. Unfortunately now, I have absolutely zero interest in visiting San Francisco. It’s really sad. My wife and kids are interested in traveling and exploring here but there’s no way we can afford to accept the risk of being robbed or possibly injured by criminal violence. Can’t wait to finish my tour and get out of California!
I don't blame you!
Criminals don't get punished in SF!
Leave no valuables or registration with personal info. Carry registration in your wallet. Be vigilant if criminals show up at your home or try to hurt you protect yourself however possible. Cops will only come after the fact when you’ve already been victimized..
Agreed. Alot of people, including myself forget your insurance and registration has your name and address on it.
Just keep everything digital. Cops will accept a screenshot of your paperwork.
My car was broken into a few weeks ago in a SF municipal garage. I had not a single valuable in the car.

“Crime and Punishment”
California has banned “punishment” because they feel it’s not fair to criminals. It’s the most absurd logic.
I won’t be doing my shopping in the City anymore, it’s just ridiculous. If your car is burglarized, get home and car the combination on your garage remote control.
