It’s a very old video and have recirculated many times on different platforms. I was a young teenager when I first saw it, I was baby sitting my niece then. I’ve grown up and have my own family now with three children since then, my oldest is 18 years; that’s how old this video is, maybe even older. People just repost things to keep their channel active.
My third son would not sleep unless he was in his swing ! That swinging saved our marriage lol. And he’s an adult now who LOVES roller coasters and any crazy rides !lol
Easy on the arms for a man lol 😆 and y'all got bigger hands. Idk why we don't that would make things a lot easier lmao holding, carrying the cast seat, picking up the stroller etc but if we were more muscular that might put our husbands out of work 😂 gotta have something for him to do at home lol
Where was this doc when I was in major postpartum depression and a baby who I couldnt bond with cried all the time? Thus might have helped me but who knows. I'm glad he js making videos for people now❤
Wait until your 6 week old has you up in the wee hours on a daily basis. I mean, I love my kiddo, but I’ so glad that she’s too young to understand my cursing. 🤬
It's no doubt very helpful. My mom had a home Daycare, & I babysat, & was a nanny. I've found every baby has a spot that if you pat gently, it soothes them, even when they're sick. Usually somewhere on their hip, thigh, bum, or back. It's not always the same way, but any way that can help comfort them is always worth knowing. IMO
Also me and I actually just had my first baby a couple months ago. I’m so bummed I didn’t do this sooner. Maybe I’m just super lucky with this baby being so good and chill but I’m sure even the ones with crazy babies would tell you it’s the coolest thing ever. & I was super anti baby lol
I have always done this to my Babies as my Mother did this to me. I am now 72 and my Children have followed through with the technique because it works ❤️❤️
Aah you made it through. Your officially an OG in the parenting business & get to tell all your war stories from back in the day lol the other generations always have stories about what they didn't have in the past 😅
Tried teaching new parents this in the hospital about 15 years ago…they complained to the manager that they felt nursing staff wasn’t safe with infants 😂😂😂 they really were not comfortable with their new family member yet 😅. Babies love to feel secure, help them feel safe and secure and life will get easier ❤
I have taught this to all my nieces and newphews to try it on their babies. They were amazed how it actually worked. I call Dr. Hamilton the "baby whisperer"
That totally works. I would always hold my baby upright on my chest and gently pat the bottom of his diaper upwards and it always would relax him. I also had a kangaroo pouch and would do the same thing. I don’t understand why it works, but it works.
When my two oldest were born until they were about 9, their pediatrician was the same pediatrician that their dad used to go to and he showed me this and i used it for all of my kids. I cried when he retired and have never found another pediatrician like him 😭
You can also do this on your knee, using your knee to move the body, one hand to support and you can use your other hand to tap or rub the babies back. Depending on if the gas is trapped in the stomach or intestines.
A nurse showed me this when I had my oldest in 1997. My husbands mamaw puts their back against her chest while holding their bottom in one hand and supporting their head in the front with the other hand and rocks front to back or side to side. Both work well. The NICU nurse that carried my oldest son after he was born held him in one arm face down. She put his head just before her elbow and laid his body along her forearm letting each leg hand off each side and using her hand to hold his bottom then held him up against her body. He never cried in that position either. I had to carry him like that after he came home. She fell in love with him & said she would avoid the head nurse because she held him so much. It made us feel good knowing he was getting lots of extra love & attention. When i had my twins i laid my daughter with her head so when I picked them up they would have their heads on my left arm. Then I laid my son the smaller of the 2 on with his head on her chest & picked them up like one big baby. That way since I’m right handed I had it to wrap around them but my left under them to support them. Once they could hold their heads up I picked one up under their arms with my left hand & arm & the other with my right. I did that till they were around age 4 & too big for me to pick them both up at the same time. You’d be surprised how strong you can get as they grow & get heavier.
Yesss!!! My pediatrician showed me this 21 years ago when I had my first child (9lb 14.5oz 21in)😮 lol a cesarean birth and I took notes!!😂😂😂 still the every 2 hour feeds were a gauntlet but I can say that sometimes I miss when my big guy (6'4")was a tiny big boy .. they grow up sooo fast!!!😊❤❤❤❤
This method has been around for a while now. But I'm glad this doctor is teaching it to young parents.
This video is old!
Wow I've never seen this before
I've had 3 children 6 grandchildren!

Yep new generation parents who raise their children by book.
Curing colic❤...
Also rub the tummy. I did this with 4 kids. It works! It's a godsend. ❤
The baby was like “help me-“
“HEELLLLP HELLLP…… wait this feels kinda good-“
right his little face looks like he’s being held hostage 😭
This baby MORE MORE MORE MORE. X10000000
Well that would've came in handy when I was up at 3am for 4 days straight, sleep deprived, hungry and exhausted.. I started crying with her😫
you've got to ask your self one Question. was it worth it
Awe bless you! Parenting is no joke
@MariaFletcher-bf5pk it’s usually always worth it at the end of the day.
I did this as soon as you put them down they start again so you dont get sleep either way.
@@WinterXR7you mean at the end of your life
Love the way the Dr emphasises GENTLY.😊❤
My third son would not sleep unless he was in his swing ! That swinging saved our marriage lol.
And he’s an adult now who LOVES roller coasters and any crazy rides !lol
He was born ready for those rides 😂
😂😂😂❤
My 3rd was the same…that swing saved my sanity!!
I was and am the same way!!!
@@cjhoward409 I was the same way as a baby... 😅 I have the best mom on the planet and I loved my swing and lived for rollercoasters in my teens!
What a sweet doctor. Empathetic. Thats what babies and families need 😍
8 babies 10 grandchildren but 2 I'm very close to and babies don't cry around me. Just realising how blessed I am. God is so good.❤😊
As a dad of 5… the football hold has been my go to over the years. Works wonders for most kids, and easy on the arms too.

It's amazing! It should be taught at every birthing clinic !
Thank you Dr Robert Hamilton! 👶🖤

AMEN SISTER!!! Middle 1970's for me. Postpartum wasn't even a medical term known to the general public (at least in my world). 💔
Omg those little newborn cries make my ovaries want to burst! I miss my babies being babies! 👶🏻
Wait until your 6 week old has you up in the wee hours on a daily basis. I mean, I love my kiddo, but I’ so glad that she’s too young to understand my cursing. 🤬
I have been doing that for as long as I can remember. I used to own and operate a day care. I tried every trick, this one worked particularly well.
Just a little shack on a booty got me dying😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Heavy!

Me: I don't want to have kids
Also me: Put this video on my "parenting" playlist
Me too I'm antinatalist
Mostly to send to my acquaintances when they complain their babies won't sleep 😂

Beautiful. If only this could work for adults with anxiety. ❤❤❤❤
Maybe it could! 😂
Adult version is hugs and rocking.
I mean 👀
I wish I had known this trick 43 years ago when my daughter was born.
😮 Me too. ❤
See if it works now!!!
As it's been posted..this trick has been around for a long time..I used this with my children when they were babies..it works like a charm
Beautiful baby...adorable doc! Wonderful helpful advice...
I used to do this w/my child, who is now 30! Continued w/grandkids. They all love it ❤
I bet a 30-year-old is heavy to hold like this.
That title though 💀
Okay??? Wow so funny...
@ HKBH736 someone lacks a sense of dark humor apparently
@@TheWhiteOp333 my brother in Christ that is not dark humor 😭 bro graduated from elementary
The title sounds like it’s cp and it would seem over 60 people disagree with you. Lighten up a bit
@TheWhiteOp333ok I vouch for you it's hilarious 😂
I have always done this to my Babies as my Mother did this to me. I am now 72 and my Children have followed through with the technique because it works ❤️❤️
My husband actually did this exact thing for our son when he was dealing with colic! It definitely helped. That was 27 yrs ago ❤
I did this to my babies. I thought the just liked the dance😂
Well, thank you for reigniting my baby fever that I just got over! 😂
Aww God bless his heart
Beautiful ❤ precious little angel .
Those words typed into google would put you on a list lol wtf man
He likes his babies stirred, not shaken.

Babies just want to dance
Damn. That would have come in handy for me about 52 years ago. Lol
Aah you made it through. Your officially an OG in the parenting business & get to tell all your war stories from back in the day lol the other generations always have stories about what they didn't have in the past 😅
“This is a good baby” lol
I tapped on this video because I thought he was choking the baby 😭…I think they should change the thumbnail
Yeah it doesn't look right at any point, but they feel better
मुझे तो उठाने मे ही डर लगेगा। कितना प्यारा छोटू सा है❤❤❤❤
Very amazing to parents, may God bless you Doctor Hamilton

Wish I'd known this when I was young.
It works like a charm, I used it for my last 3
If someone wasn't shoving a needle into his leg he wouldn't be screaming like that!!😢 Poor babies...
The babies stop crying bc theyre like "wtf is this guy doing?" Lmao
I wish I remembered what went thru my mind as a baby
“Now this, this is a QUALITY baby, very good”😂
I have taught this to all my nieces and newphews to try it on their babies. They were amazed how it actually worked. I call Dr. Hamilton the "baby whisperer"
That is SO CUTE!!! 🥰
Ahhhh
Thank you doctor for teaching this ❤
“This is a good baby”. 😂😂😂
He's definitely right!
It worked for all my infants in daycare.
Great doctor!
How can doctors rip such a precious miracle apart in the womb though.
New twist to “shake your booty!”
I used that when my now 46 year old daughter was a baby except I didn't fold her arms up like that. It still worked.
I’d stop crying and be still with shock if a stranger started cradling junk in their hand too
I wish knew that when my baby was young they should learn midwife this in training
Do this over a bed. 😮 It looks a little precarious! But it does work. I have seen others doing this successfully! 😺👶
I’ve been soothing my babies like that for years my oldest is 41 years old now I’m glad this doctor is getting the word out though 😊😊
Can attest, this does work.
I figured this out by accident babysitting for a friend once
That totally works. I would always hold my baby upright on my chest and gently pat the bottom of his diaper upwards and it always would relax him. I also had a kangaroo pouch and would do the same thing. I don’t understand why it works, but it works.
I ❤it. When my children little I would pat on their but and they fall asleep awe.
Can I do that to my husband when he throws a fit?
❤ This man Empathy
IS Wonderful😊😊😊
Yes! Bouncing! That's how I always soothed my son, bouncing ❤
I been doing that since 2002.... lol
And the football hold.
Put baby in carseat and on top of washer. Turn washer on. The vibration is soothing
I used to do this with mine. My mum taught me, saved my mentality lol especially good for colicky babies. 🙌🏼🙏🏼♥️
Those babies quiet down because they’re like “what the hell is this person doing with me?” They forget what they were upset about. Lol
The older generations know this already.. I was taught how to do it before I became a mom.
But knowledge is power.. Hope this helps someone out.
Cute 😍 little babies 👶 ❤
I sure wish I had known about this method when my now 14yr old granddaughter was a baby 😮
The Hawaii Chair for babies

Bros being in appropriate😭

just a gentle shake

dude has a muay thai mma death grip on his jugular, that's why he's calm.
a newborn baby can't support the weight of his own head , it's not a death grip it's support

This is making me want another baby just to try it 🥰🤭🤔🙃 They're just so cute!
Wish I'd known this 42 years ago, with my youngest who was a colicky baby. I think I cried almost as many tears as he did back then.
Wow ❤amazing method Dr
I love this so much. I can't stop watching. Okay but that doctor needs to check his phrasing. He said "shake the baby." LOL Never shake your baby
“ this is a good Baby “ 😅
Wish I would have known this 46 years ago!! Colicky baby!
As a mom I remember this years ago and I tried this all the way until my baby was a toddler it worked like a charm😅
This method will also let the baby pass gas if he has air on his stomach which could be a cause of it crying.
As a mother of six. It really works. The strange thing is, I thought this was my technique....did know it was a thing.
This also helps if the babies have a air bubble in their tummies and they will burp.
Omg that is too cute 😊
this especially helps with colic babies !!!
Apparently twerking calms babies 😂😂😂
Wish I had known about this 40 years ago!
It worked with all 4 of mine 40 being oldest and all 8 grandkids.
Soothes the belly, I figured this out after the 54th hour with no sleep 😂😫
