For me, Donna Summer the most underrated voice ever. She was a great human and so kind. You can see it in her eyes, she's not in a good health. Rip Donna we all miss you so much.
I dont think she was underrated. She was famous in Europe. I collected all her LP-s as a young boy. Although in Poland it was difficult to buy it and were expensive.
@@patricklarry6645 Donna was more talented in other areas and preserved her voice throughout her entire career. Whitney, I find, had the more mysterious vocal instrument, but was pretty much Donna's equal in terms of singing-ability. To my ears, Donna, Whitney, and Shirley Bassey are/were the best voices that have ever graced popular music.
@@philhenderson3516 What a great description, "mysterious vocal talent." Whitney could blow and is one of the greatest to do it. For her catalog, body of work, longevity, and as you say, preservation of her voice, Donna is tops for me. At such a high level though it's impossible to rank singers of this caliber. They were blessed with vocal chords, bodies, facial cavities, etc. that the rest of us weren't.
This was about a year before Donna passed away from lung cancer. Maybe it was even silently brewing even then. As is the case with many of the great singers, Donna's voice got deeper and more layered as she got older. She was around 62 when she did this show and this performance of Last Dance is truly amazing. Also major props to the musicians and the backup singers one of whom was the superb Judith Hill. Donna left us much too soon.
She was one of the world’s greatest vocalists without a doubt. It was so very sad and shocking to find out she passed away just the next year. It was that quick and only people in her personal life must have known she was ill. She lives on in our hearts and in heaven above amen
Can’t believe this was Donna summer last tv 📺 performance she ever gave even though she was battling cancer around this time she still looked amazing and sounded fantastic she is so missed RIP 🪦 Donna Summer we will never forget u 😭
Nothing but chills, definitely one of the greatest voices right up to the end and very overlooked. Sad to see this would be her last performance before she passed, and still is perfect voice.
I don't think selling over 100 million records is being overlooked 🤔🙄... Your statement doesent make alot of sence at all.. Donna was beautiful in every way... Selling that many records and winning 5 Grammy awards is definitely far from overlooked!! R. I. P donna
This true lady has been underrated during career. Listen to this vocal superb performance. Lord, let her rest in peace. She wasn't only the disco queen, she was a really awesome artist blessed with powerful voice and personality. A true and authentic woman and Star
She sounds so good here it's almost hard to believe that she was dead within a year of this concert from cancer and lung cancer at that... she has such power in her voice... same as she did in the Disco era ...and I met her one time many many years ago before she was even famous probably 1978 .... she was just so thin kind of gangly looking but beautiful..but she had such a presence you know and a powerful voice.. much younger sounding back then but still beautiful and she was just singing some little nothing song and I remember thinking my God that voice why isn't she famous??
I was pregnant when heard this version for the first time... I listened it XXX times a day all 9 months! My daughter was born the same day Donna passed away.... May 17... From the first day of her life she used to fall asleep to this music and it is still her favourite one ! Thank you, Donna...
Excelente la interpretación de Donna Sumner, y mejor la orquesta dirijida por el maestro David Foster, ahh! Y el coro magnífico.yo en 2024 todavía lo escucho, alguien más?
What a voice. Oh my God. You gave us so much happiness back in the 70s. I don't think there was a night club back then that didn't play ger music. We miss you so so much. RIP Disco Queen.
Donna owns that stage. With professionalism and grace and style. And that amazing voice that has aged like fine wine. I love you and miss you so much ❤
I believe she was too. This performance was in October of 2011 and the lung cancer took her in May 2012. She lost a lot of weight and her health deteriorated fast in those last few months. She only made a couple more public appearances after this. But she sung and looked fabulous until the very end. I'm glad we got to see her like this in one of her last live performances. Truly immortal.
I have no words for this performance!.... Perfection and soulfulness all the way and fantastic live siinging, although she was probably verry ill at that time. What a star, she left us too soon, but such a huge music talent and a pleasure, solid personality, she will always be remembered
"Could it be magic"? It was magic indeed: Donna looked so fab, and the voice so powerful, sexy, luscious and unparalleled! That voice. Gosh! And the finale (the orchestra!!!) Pure magic, pure gold! Miss you so much. Who can come even remotely close to her voice, talent and personality? .... Possibly the best version together with that in Oslo (Nobel Prize) in 2009. RIP.
I saw this person in a live concert 13 years ago. And I felt so very happy and alive. I'll love her forever!!! An Extraordinary Magnificent Super Singer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Extremely sick and showing the class few have ever showed!!! An immense artist. So sad she left so early.

I found out this was in October 2011 she would pass away May 2012 sadly. Nobody knew she had lung cancer at this point but the immediate family and that’s all. She continue to do what she loved, to sing.
Love you miss summer. You were right there at the top of my growing up era. Remember seeing you sing this on a disco movie Thank God It’s Friday with Jeff Goldblum! We were dancing in the theater aisle in Manila !
Just perfection. These singers of today could never come close.

She always had that voice and was the queen of disco...I wouldn't say she underrated at all!!
We knew she was the best always here in Boston!
Still in the original key. No tricks, no acrobatics, just amazing singing. Phenomenal, and mere months before she passed. She was truly a talent.
Better than whitney!
