This is such an incredible live performance. The musicians, the backup singers, the audience, the cameramen, and especially the queen of disco do such a phenomenal job that I doubt there is a better performance out there. It's magical the entire way through, although for me when Donna Summer sings "romance" at 3:49, she takes me to the stratosphere. Just the way that she sings it, her voice. From that point on, the song is as close to perfection as can humanly be possible.

That's why all the artists singing live before autotune was invented were more authentic (and not only great singers) because they used their natural voices and vocal ability during live performances (especially the bands who played live as well). Too bad the music industry standard of robotic perfection is now the norm that many listeners today don't appreciate real live singing of the past and think that singers (yes, even the great singers) singing live today are truly singing live but are actually pitch corrected for the most part or auto tuned. Thanks to Fil of Wings of Pegasus, he is teaching autotune generations what natural singing and live performances truly sound like vs fake performances by singers, great and mediocre ones.

The morning Donna passed away, I wept for weeks. Never cried before losing an artist, but Donna was unlike any other artist. She was an angel that touched my soul when I was barely a teen. Was blessed to be front row in one of her last concerts. Brought her a bouquet of red roses and was able to give them to her. She touched my hand and thanked me. True story about this amazing artist, I was once in a relationship with a music person in Nashville where Donna lived in the 90's. We were invited to the old new Ryman for a musical charity, forgot what the occasion was- there were many big names to name (you can imagine who being in Nashville). Donna was invited because she was close friends with the Governor at the time Phil Bredesen. A few singers had their turn, then Donna was invited off the cuff to sing a couple her hits- WOW, everyone just sort of sat with their mouths open, it was a pipe bomb. Every singer after her was flat. I mean how do you follow Donna Summer? Angelic voice.
I have loved this woman for some 40+ years. I absolutely wore out my 8 track tape of 'On The Radio Volume I and II'. She, along with a short list of other iconic artists, contributed so much to my happy memories of grooving with my friends, driving around on the weekends trying to impress boys, and just overall enjoying my teen life. I'm now 58 yrs old, and still rock out whenever I hear one of her songs come on the radio (which is too rare). RIP you beautiful soul. And thank you so much for your gifts to us.

What an absolute tragedy in 2012 when Donna Summer passed away. She was without question the undisputed queen of disco, and totaly inspired her audiences with her fantastic singing. Sadly missed in the world of earthly music. RIP lovely lady and do what you do best. Sing your heart out in the heavens above.

The morning Donna passed away, I wept for weeks. Never cried before losing an artist, but Donna was unlike any other artist. She was an angel that touched my soul when I was barely a teen. Was blessed to be front row in one of her last concerts. Brought her a bouquet of red roses and was able to give them to her. She touched my hand and thanked me. No one could ever stand in her spotlight. I will miss her forever. God bless you, Donna 🌹✝

True story about this amazing artist, I was once in a relationship with a music person in Nashville where Donna lived in the 90's. We were invited to the old new Ryman for a musical charity, forgot what the occasion was- there were many big names to name (you can imagine who being in Nashville). Donna was invited because she was close friends with the Governor at the time Phil Bredesen. A few singers had their turn, then Donna was invited off the cuff to sing a couple her hits- WOW, everyone just sort of sat with their mouths open, it was a pipe bomb. Every singer after her was flat. I mean how do you follow Donna Summer? Angelic voice.

I have loved this woman for some 40+ years. I absolutely wore out my 8 track tape of 'On The Radio Volume I and II'. She, along with a short list of other iconic artists, contributed so much to my happy memories of grooving with my friends, driving around on the weekends trying to impress boys, and just overall enjoying my teen life. I'm now 58 yrs old, and still rock out whenever I hear one of her songs come on the radio (which is too rare). RIP you beautiful soul. And thank you so much for your gifts to us.

When I heard that Donna passed away, I was crushed. I had all her albums as a kid. My dad and I would listen to her albums all the time. She was great!!! May she rest in peace.
