James Darling Jr Yes, I agree with you. But I like to mention here that late Ms. Donna Summer was the most famous female artist in USA and also in other western countries during 1977 - 1983 period. Her albums were sold in millions and reached platinum status. She earned the record for three consecutive platinum selling double albums in late 70's! Her 1979 double album "Bad Girls" reached multi-platinum status almost all around the world!
Unfortunately her commercial success began to fall only after about 1984 but she continued recording and again had a UK gold album in 1989 and her last album in 2008 which again entered the charts. She was a legend! She was the greatest artist with a great voice but became underrated only later on which is very sad to note. She passed away in 2012.

It was a collaboration (Summer, Moroder, Bellotte)
Sound Engineer was Jurgen Coppers who hardly gets any mention. Donna worked as a stenographer so was adept with keyboards and how they work and she wrote the lyrics in 30 minutes and recorded it without retake or repeat (she was known as “One-Take-Donna” as a result). She was said to have the Style and Character of each Track in her head and she just delivered it just once without repetition. She was reported to have recorded the Entire Album of ‘Another Time And Place’ 1988, co-written and Produced by the British Stock Aitken & Waterman in 35 minutes. She claimed later on that the Album was her easiest recording in her Career.
Peter Waterman in his tribute to her said that Donna was so humble and unassuming that even though she did all the work around the Album , she however each step expressed to the Team how thankful and grateful she was (even though she was the one who did all the work)

The 60, 70's, and 80's hands down the bloody best ever. Not the gross trash WAP, etc., they play today. By early to mid 70's, I was a teenager. Then, late teens, we were all out dancing at all the best disco clubs, til late. How I managed to finish University, get a job, and still go clubbing til late at night, then turn up for work on Friday morning is beyond me. I'm now 62, and I'm so grateful - these were the best times. No mobile phones, no phoney plastic boobs, lips, etc., We were all gorgeous, natural goddesses. Yes, agreed. After the exhale she flips her hair back with a queenly gesture that virtually defines “fabulous” for the 1970s. Then after she sings the first phrase, on the last “good” she looks up at the camera and blinks seductively. Once you see it, you can’t not notice again. Either she choreographed this all in advance or she just did it naturally, I have no idea, but she was as great a performer as the biz has ever seen.

      That's a fair opinion.
I would argue though, that 1000s of other singers could have replaced them (especially if you consider the vocal part of this particular song).

@@micke_mango Thank you. Over the years there was countless of number of attempts to do a new version of "I feel love" and none of them came close to Donna. This was a song (alongside with Amanda Lear "Blood and Honey") which had such a massive effect on me so as I started buying records. I was 18y/o at the time. Funny that is as my favourite type of music is really funk and soul but even now I still listen to disco alongside with many other genres of music.

      @@funkjazz6625
"none of them came close to Giorgio" I would say 😀
This song is almost entirely about the bassline and the intense rhythm part, that's what's groundbreaking with Moroders piece.
Interestingly, the vocal part of this song is quite detached from the instruments, with its own rhythm (a lot slower), it's almost as if two separate songs were blended.
I don't have a clue on how to make an interesting cover on a song like this...
Maybe a complete genre change, to detach from the original? Fast country or metal? Or changing the vocal part completely, new melody and maybe more eighth notes?

Kinda like Goldfrapp. I was shocked that it actually came out in 1977, and it was a Donna Summers song. Wow! The song is so a head of its time. This is one of those songs that, if they were never made I could barely imagine something simmilar, it is amazing.

Donna Summer was the Queen of Disco and the most remarkable singer of her time. Nobody has ever come even close.

I Feel Love is a single by American singer-songwriter Donna Summer, taken from the album I Remember Yesterday, and released in 1977.
Destined to top the charts in many countries, the song is cited as one of the most influential ever in the development of much electronic dance music. It is also number one on Billboard's Best Disco Songs of All Time list compiled in 2016 by Giorgio Moroder. Although popular electronic music was now widespread, before I Feel Love most disco music was accompanied by an acoustic orchestra. The production of Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte, who created the song accompanying it entirely with a Moog synthesizer, was soon imitated by other musicians. The song is thus one of the pioneering hits of electronic music.
Unlike many disco songs of the time, I Feel Love was first made by composing the background and the bass line and then the melody, whose key was modulated at regular intervals together with Donna Summer's voice. The piece is accompanied by a four quarter beat and progressive bass lines.
