Hearing someone else sing these songs makes one realize just how powerful Donna Summer's voice was. I once heard her belt out a note and hold it, the music stopped, and she lowered the microphone to the floor and her voice, no longer coming through the sound system, still filled the room. When she let go of the note, it was dead silent in the amphitheater and Donna opened her eyes and looked shocked because of the silence... and then someone started clapping and then the entire room erupted in cheers, clapping, screaming, and crying. At the end of the night, the people leaving the venue were talking about that magical moment, when Donna Summer made time stand still... just because she could.
During the build up to the vocals on "I Feel Love", I thought the only thing missing now is Donna Summer. But I think the young lady did justice to the song and Ms. Summer.

I remember the first time I heard "I Feel Love" at the Bullshot disco in Hollywood. It really electrified the dance floor as it was so different from the other dance records. He gave us not only all those great tracks with Donna, but Irene Cara's Flashdance theme "What a Feeling", the Midnight Express soundtrack (killer), and he's STILL making great music! My jaw about dropped when I heard what he did with "Magic" by Coldplay (the extended version). He and Mauro Malavasi (the producer of Change) have not lost their touch despite the passage of years. Long live the Italians!
Thanks for not just quoting the few words he said in that Daft Punk song. At least YOU now the other great songs this guy has composed or worked on! Years ago it blew my mind when I discovered that a number of songs I really liked (some of which you have mentionned) were all from the same guy. What!? And yes, he still has it!

I was recently in Romania on a trip, and the son of the family we stayed with is 22. We asked what his favorite kind of music was, and he said electronic. But he had never heard of Georgio Moroder, so of course I had to educate him and play the Daft Punk song (he did like Daft Punk already). We also turned him on to Nine Inch Nails. He loved both!

15:11 My heart feels an explosion of billions crystals of all colors. The girl dancing in circles, people with their hands up and this music, is incredible. Thank you Giorgio, thank you so much.
You're a Star.
So lucky, that as a teenager I lived this era !!!!

Me
I don't know why this never gets old. I've listened to the original SO many times. It's relatively simple but so compelling (and still futuristic sounding). Awesome stuff.
He wrote and played so much for bigger artists that had bigger careers than his, so good to see so much love for this pioneer.
I heard his parents named him after a Daft Punk song
Kudos and respect to the singer for singing with the spirit of the great Donna Summer. I was in love with Donna Summer when i was a kid and ever since I wanted to have a black African girlfriend. We don't have many of such people in Argentina, I'm still waiting for a black girl to enter my life and Donna Summer lives in my heart forever along with Giovanni Giorgio
Magic🎉🎉🎉🎉
he was ahead of his times and thats why his music is still soothing and works with all ages.
@@fitroplon yep 4 😱
Giorgio is definitely the Godfather of electronic dance music. One of his best best projects was with Sparks on their 1979 album 'The Number One Song In Heaven'. If you don't know it, you really should. It's off the scale!
Thank you.
Everything perfect but Donna is unbeatable... Remembering and missing her
Miguel Paez Thanks. Great. Goodness. Happens
Exactly, he didn't mention but her vocals are irreplaceable.
Look for the complex rock tour dvd from Blue Man Group...Venus Hum singing "I feel love". Crank up the speakers and I hope you have GOOD speakers. You've been warned =)
@@tabajaralabs Exactly. Blue Man Group and Venus cover is great!! And vocals from Venus are fantastic. Atleast on par with Donna. Vocals here, are not even close....
Don't knock the gal. She's better than most!!
Giovanni Giorgio one of the greatest pop musicians ever.
this Giovanni Giorgio is an absolute genius

I remember the first time I heard "I Feel Love" at the Bullshot disco in Hollywood. It really electrified the dance floor as it was so different from the other dance records. He gave us not only all those great tracks with Donna, but Irene Cara's Flashdance theme "What a Feeling", the Midnight Express soundtrack (killer), and he's STILL making great music! My jaw about dropped when I heard what he did with "Magic" by Coldplay (the extended version). He and Mauro Malavasi (the producer of Change) have not lost their touch despite the passage of years. Long live the Italians!
Dillon's in Westwood
And Take my breath away...
Giorgio and Quincy create decades of pures music for ever!!!!
I first heard his music when I went to the cinema As a teenager He did the soundtrack for it. " Midnight Express" Fell in love from then. Youngsters today got nothing on him !
talk about a real legend. One of the pioneers of electronic music.
I Feel Love was such a perfect way to introduce the synth sounds to the masses in USA. Love that song!
Oscar Winner, Grammy winner a true legend in music.
Thank you very much for your love and continuous support of my great music...I have great respect for such a devoted fan like you ❤
He was way ahead of his time. I lived through the disco era and this is what made you move. A musical genius!
legend, totally underrated, arguably the most pop song of all time
"I feel love" and "Hot stuff" were best introduced by the Queen "Donna Summer".
The Great Grand Daddy of EDM and Synth Pop. He should have been awarded a Nobel for his unusual contribution to music.
Giorgio - a lifelong hero I never knew I had... thanks for my favourite music!
Two of my favorite 80's musicians: Giorgio Moroder and Jan Hammer.

I remember buying his LP in late 70s ' from here to eternity ". What an enigma he was , with dark glasses and drooping moustache. His another hit was from the movie midnight Express called the CHASE !
From here to eternity. The lord of music giorgio moroder.
Bravo Giorgio!
The singer on I feel Love... amazing ❤
His electronic sound made my life wonderful in those times. Thanks Giorgio !
World needs to have more of this kind of artists, like him... One and the only G. Moroder the king of disco music 💪
It's impossible to overstate the significance of "I feel love". It was meant to have a futuristic sound, and boy, did it deliver. It would be another 15 years or so before this sort of music -slowly- started to become mainstream.
To wehikuł czasu! To powrót do młodości! To arcydzieło! Donna Summer była boska! Giorgio jest geniuszem!
