Kebu's all-analog synth cover of Giorgio Moroder's The Chase, performed live at the Sthlm Italo Disco Party 2015 at Nalen, Stockholm, 16.5.2015.

The first minute is my own composition, "Prelude to Chase", that I composed as an intro to Chase. My arrangement of Chase is a mixture of both the original version and JAIA's Express Remix - with a few of my own additions thrown in.
The song was performed using only analog synthesizers, either played live or sequenced. The performance was recorded directly from the mixer to a stereo track and later mixed together with the ambience from the room. A few mistakes have been cut out and replaced with the audio from a rehearsal take.
Equipment used in this song: Logan String Melody II; MXR EVH117 flanger; Roland TR-808, Juno 60, Alpha Juno 1&2; Korg Polysix, Poly 61, Mono/Poly, Micro-preset M500; Moog Source; DSI Tetra; Jomox AirBase99; Touched-by-sound DRM1; Oberheim Matrix 1000; Marion Prosynth; Akai MPC2500 (only for MIDI sequencing), M-Audio Trigger Finger; Yamaha 01v96; Lexicon MPX500 & MPX550, as well as a midi patchbay and additional preamps for my mixer.

I'm 56 years old and I saw this movie in 1978 with my dear grandmother who has passed at 100 and I remember watching this movie Midnight Express and loving this song Thank You Giorgio Mordor and thank you the gentleman in this video I love your enthusiasm I love how you developed the song Fabulous thank you so much I'm listening to it it now 46 years later unbelievable sound thank you for your enthusiasm and great talent Giorgio and this gentleman with the blonde hair excellent job
What makes this all the more impressive is he's PLAYING it and mixing and all that at the same time. He's not simply taking pre recorded tracks and mixing. He's doing all of the work, doing it flawlessly, and having a blast doing it. Super impressive!
This! And the magic of midi to control all this madness. Must have taken ages to programm all of that.
Lot of things are controlled by MIDI otherwise it would be impossible. But it is all well done and gives him the possibility to really play the best parts. It is a technical performance to setup a mix of MIDI and CV/Gate synths and make them work together in live.

Saw Midnight Express in the theater in 1978 , remains some of my top favorites of all time. Giorgio , simply put , way ahead of his time. Genius. This fellow here is a killer on the Keys.

"From the high desert and the great American southwest" was his tagline to introduce the show. Kebu is the performer in this video.

Ich bin jedes mal auf's neue fasziniert, mit welcher leidenschaftlicher Hingabe, musikalische Kunst produziert wird und dem Zuhörer bzw/und Zuschauer in seinen Bann zieht. I watched this clip probably 30 times in the last 10 months. Hardly anyone does their own effects live and hardly anyone does live sampling anymore. This video is the definition of playing live .
Each time I listen to this music in addition to appreciating the artists love of re-creating this music, I love the appreciation from the crowd. That collective cheer of appreciation at the beginning and at the end. It’s a collective understanding that makes its way the live event and into the souls of us listening via video

It's not an intro, it's the full track for a chase scene in a movie. It mighty have been Midnight Express.

There are no words to describe how the Chase is elevated to such incredible heights in this version - Bravo ! Sensational !
