I saw Blade Runner on its release in the summer of '82 at the transitional age of 19. The score by Vangelis transfixed and transported me into the world on screen. When this piece came up for the end credits I remained rooted to my seat, barely noticing most of the audience already shuffling out. How could anyone possibly leave while this driving, enveloping, sonic cocoon carried one into another dimension of timelessness? Vangelis is to me The God of Synth. This rendition is a masterful and faithful homage to a piece of 1980s magic that will be appreciated for many decades to come. 😊
Never ever leave the cinema before the score has come to its end! You will miss in many cases the coolest outtakes and other funny stuff … For my wife and me this was our golden rule in cinemas back in da good‘ol‘days
Beautiful, just beautiful arrangement. I remember watching BR at the local cinema a few years ago. The movie ends and the end titles come on. People are leaving the theatre while the credits are rolling. I'm, of course, glued to my seat and not going anywhere until the house lights finally come on to witness this musical masterpiece in its entirety. 😉
I was fortunate enough to see BLADE RUNNER on its first weekend, in September, 1982, at the ABC Shaftesbury Ave., in 6-track magnetic, and 70mm. I'll never forget it. The score remains not only my favourite Vangelis record, but an all-time top 10 score, for me. The film is my second favourite, ever, and, yes, I stayed glued to my seat, through the end titles.
@@richardconnold5207 That is really incredible - to have seen it on the opening weekend! Thanks for replying to my comment. I got a notification and it made me watch this incredible performance by Kebu one more time!

What I really enjoy about the covers that KEBU does, is that he clearly has great respect for the creativity of the original. With that said, KEBU masterfully takes ownership of the each piece while interjecting extremely appreciative creative nods to the original author.
