    One of the most emotionally charged moments in the show! I do wish that the writers of Miami Vice had followed up on the fate of Tubbs son though. Once season 3 began, they forgot about Ricardo Jr. completely.

    This could be a great movie today, Tubbs son could be groomed to be a drug dealer and taught to hate Tubbs. He could kidnap a retired Crockett to lure his father in. I'd pay to see that.

    Hey, all Tubbs wanted was to talk to Harrison. As soon as he and Crockett were fired at, it was self-defense.

      Self-defense, my spleen. Tubbs' saying that was a ruse to get Harrison to fire at him, giving Tubbs and Crockett a reason to destroy him and the other guy. In other words, a revenge tactic making it look justified. Crockett and Tubbs were not cops in this scene; rather, they were avengers.

    Technically speaking, I am pretty sure Tubbs didn't break the law here. Sure he intended to kill the guy, but he probably intended to tell him why, first. His sense of justice would demand that much. Simply calling out 'Hey I wanna talk to you' without a weapon in his hands pointed at them isn't legal grounds to open fire. The moment the corrupt cops did, Tubbs had every legal excuse in the book to reduce their skulls to the consistency of pond slime. Sure it'd be a thin defense, but I'm pretty sure it'd still fly.

      Agreed. In my opinion Miami Vice jumped the shark in season three by focusing on Crocketts new car, rather than continuing Tubbs' blood feud with Calderone Jr.

      @@johnstaton894 Season 3 and onwards was really hard to watch most of the time. The tone shifted way too much to really dark storylines, Zito gets killed off, and lots of other just all around terrible stories in general. Season 1 and 2 were the best.

    There are two other shows that I also enjoyed watching between 1982 and 1988: Knight Rider, Airwolf and Miami Vice on Friday Nights at 8:00 to 9 on NBC.

      Sonny should have kept the Hawes/SIG P220 from the pilot. Much more reliable. Switching to the Smith in later seasons was a style downgrade.

      THAT AUTO WILL JAM SOONER OR LATER. THE FERRARI WILL STALL. TUBBS' CAR AND WEAPONS ARE FAR MORE RELIABLE, CAN USE INEXPENSIVE AMMO WITH NO PROBLEM. IN A GUNFIGHT, IT'S NOT THE GUN THAT MAKES THE FINAL JUDGEMENT, IT'S THE MAN!

    Ok I'm a GenXer, what I really want to see is the teaser they ran on tv before Miami Vice started... It was In The Air Tonight, and Tubbs' shotgun blasts were coordinated with the drum break of the song. 80s magic.

    The baby was still alive. They got it all wrong. Even the funeral had a little casket. But the baby was removed before the car was wired.
