If you know anything about her personal life, and you pay attention at all, you can really appreciate an artist making art because they literally have to. Whether it's catharsis or simply being a vessel of some sort, there is raw, bold sincerity in everything she does. That is rare.
I have not been this excited about a musician in a long time. Her raw, unadulterated talent is simply undeniable.
Its better than 90s grunge scene too!

She is absolutely amazing. Her beautiful singing together with the melodies creates the dreamy feeling of yerning or longing for something what was or never will be. Sorry if it doesn't make sense (i'm polish, so my english isn't perfect). I'm definitely getting her records soon. Wonderful artist.

Flying down from MA to NC to see her and Thou next month - two of my favorite artists / bands. Their collaborative album was beautiful. Each of her songs and albums as a whole bring something different. Such a beautiful voice paired with great note choices. So excited to finally see her - I know it's tough for a lot of these artists to hit New England.

This one (mostly into black metal) has seen Emma Ruth Rundle live and was blown away. Absolutely stunning performance, probably the first time I've experienced absolute silence from the crowd during a complete performance. Most of the crowd were metalheads, by the way.
Actually, i think that someone can make a post black metal cover of her stuff, maybe on an Alcest style

Whoever came up with the word "smitten" knew someone like ERR. I'd never even heard of her before now, but about 30 seconds of her voice/style/beauty/lyrics/personae/playing just stripped me bare of everything but stunned admiration. What a talent! Forget all the Taylors & Britneys in the world... they're nothing compared to this magical nymph! Purified perfection.

Vocally: Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos and Dolores O'Riordan; musically - the former two. Moodwise - maybe Chelsea Wolfe to some extent. But who cares, Emma is a great talent in her own right. Her music is going to evolve into something even more outstanding I believe.
I was immediately thinking Heather Nova (just the good, heavy stuff she put out in the mid 90's). But Emma Ruth eclipses all of them IMHO. So familiar and yet completely her own art. Dark and beautiful art that feeds me and gives me a will to live a bit longer...

I think both her appearance and her voice reminds me of Dolores O'riordan from The Cranberries... But she is also very much her own

Instantly this hit me over the head...then I started hearing touches of Alanis Morisette in her vocals. I can't stand Alanis M. But it's not enough to not fall in love at first hear. This has massive amounts of sincerity. So good.
Cold Press Club i was prepping my "hold it, you cant hate on emmy like that" speech, but then realized i had a similar experience with her music XD.
She introduced me to indie, but she set the bar soo high i cant find many vocalists that have the same sincerity or raw emotional pull that Emmy has.
I just dropped Dead this is so fucking Amazeballs .While into tears at some moments. Forwarded to my 19 year old daughter I do nothing but share music with.

In some ways it's like she picked up where Alanis Morriset left off. They have similar sounding voices except Emma takes it to deeper more raw places.

Great live. I swear this guy, while still bein a good interviewer, feels also on crack or/and close to a mental breakdown. I've never seen him being chill ever. Makes every interview he does awkward, even when the questions are good
I think it's just because he's a really big fan of the artists. I know professionalism is usually key in interviews but with the vibe audiotree gives off it's meant to be more personable and I can excuse someone getting nervous and fanboying a bit.
I'm somewhat short of time, yet I can imagine my 'investment' will ease the process of leaving - or transition for those equipped with more illusions...

What beautiful sadness. She has something really special.
Her humility and beauty make her such a unique artist. She talks about not being on a certain level with others, and brings up a teacher that inspired her in electronics. Yet, look at how amazing she is in her artistry, creating her own unique sound. Like he told her, make sounds that sound cool.
