If you know anything about her personal life, and you pay attention at all, you can really appreciate an artist making art because they literally have to. Whether it's catharsis or simply being a vessel of some sort, there is raw, bold sincerity in everything she does. That is rare.
Her humility and beauty make her such a unique artist. She talks about not being on a certain level with others, and brings up a teacher that inspired her in electronics. Yet, look at how amazing she is in her artistry, creating her own unique sound. Like he told her, make sounds that sound cool.
She is absolutely amazing. Her beautiful singing together with the melodies creates the dreamy feeling of yerning or longing for something what was or never will be. Sorry if it doesn't make sense (i'm polish, so my english isn't perfect). I'm definitely getting her records soon. Wonderful artist.
I only just discovered her and Marriages. Dark music has such depth; it is a flying drop kick to the gut, wrenching out the unattainable pent up emotions. Thank you Emma Ruth.
This one (mostly into black metal) has seen Emma Ruth Rundle live and was blown away. Absolutely stunning performance, probably the first time I've experienced absolute silence from the crowd during a complete performance. Most of the crowd were metalheads, by the way.
This one too. I love how her music seems to have such a big following among metal fans, to the point where a lot of her merch seems like metal band merch.
Love Emma Ruth Rundle so much. Her short lived band "Marriages" is absolute perfection. Random side note, her haircut here makes her look like a "dark" Angel Olsen
I fell on this video looking for live performance of Hauted House... How sad the song is not part of the set but I'm totally absorbed here! Can't wait for the new record!
Whoever came up with the word "smitten" knew someone like ERR. I'd never even heard of her before now, but about 30 seconds of her voice/style/beauty/lyrics/personae/playing just stripped me bare of everything but stunned admiration. What a talent! Forget all the Taylors & Britneys in the world... they're nothing compared to this magical nymph! Purified perfection.
I was fortunate enough to know this woman many years ago. I'm so happy you have continued your work in music Emma....I admit, however, I don't understand all of the words in these youtube videos, due maybe to my own age, or to the many times explosions/guns went off near my ears (I got my wish in life too Emma, to go fight for the U.S. etc!) but I can't help being happy for you. You're doing what i perceived as your greatest wish, or calling etc. Fucking amazes me on all fronts! Please never give this up!
She's so talented and sweet and awesome, one of my favourite artist, definitely! The host is pretty nice too, I was watching the Marriages Audiotree session just before, he's a seems like a cool dude.
Squarely lands at the axis of kurdt and alanis, with occassional outcries of bjork. you can tell she blossomed in the early '90s and it's lovely how she codifies some of the best that era had to offer. it'd be cool if she threw a little a mazy star in there too.
Instantly this hit me over the head...then I started hearing touches of Alanis Morisette in her vocals. I can't stand Alanis M. But it's not enough to not fall in love at first hear. This has massive amounts of sincerity. So good.
Cold Press Club i was prepping my "hold it, you cant hate on emmy like that" speech, but then realized i had a similar experience with her music XD. She introduced me to indie, but she set the bar soo high i cant find many vocalists that have the same sincerity or raw emotional pull that Emmy has.
I just dropped Dead this is so fucking Amazeballs .While into tears at some moments. Forwarded to my 19 year old daughter I do nothing but share music with.
Vocally: Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos and Dolores O'Riordan; musically - the former two. Moodwise - maybe Chelsea Wolfe to some extent. But who cares, Emma is a great talent in her own right. Her music is going to evolve into something even more outstanding I believe.
I was immediately thinking Heather Nova (just the good, heavy stuff she put out in the mid 90's). But Emma Ruth eclipses all of them IMHO. So familiar and yet completely her own art. Dark and beautiful art that feeds me and gives me a will to live a bit longer...
I experience every emotion a human can have listening to youtube hours every night i grew up in the 60s and 70s and cant forget the music i grew up with and defined me but indie is where i want to be at 62
Great live. I swear this guy, while still bein a good interviewer, feels also on crack or/and close to a mental breakdown. I've never seen him being chill ever. Makes every interview he does awkward, even when the questions are good
I think it's just because he's a really big fan of the artists. I know professionalism is usually key in interviews but with the vibe audiotree gives off it's meant to be more personable and I can excuse someone getting nervous and fanboying a bit.

whats with her personal life?
I am a simple man. I see Emma Ruth, I upvote.
This changed my life
Awesome artist. Simply.
0:50 - 4:35 Shadows of my name
8:40 - 9:17 Your card the sun
9:23 - 13:15 Run forever
15:20 - 19:33 The color
22:10 - 26:10 Arms I know so well
28:17 - 31:55 Living with the black dog

she's got an amazing, haunting voice
I am so emotionally touched by ‘Shadows of my name’ that I have cried when I listened to it for the first time. (Also fourth and fifth)
Same here. Outstanding. Cheers from Ohio
I have not been this excited about a musician in a long time. Her raw, unadulterated talent is simply undeniable.
Its better than 90s grunge scene too!
The host fell in love with Emma.
can't really blame him
I fell in love with both
Elfavzla i kinda did too! Sheesh, she's actually adorable when she makes that awkward smile.
That awkward moment when the host gets a crush on the guest and does his best not to make a complete fool of himself.
Elfavzla ring on his finger?
What beautiful sadness. She has something really special.
this artist is a gift

boobush makes sense
you said that perfectly- music is the universal translator
You hit the nail on the head.
El traductor de Google siempre es mejor cuando el que escribe no es inglés. Im spanish, and i feel the same like you.
I only just discovered her and Marriages. Dark music has such depth; it is a flying drop kick to the gut, wrenching out the unattainable pent up emotions. Thank you Emma Ruth.
My heart wasn't ready to hear this
What a voice and charisma! Thanks from Brazil.
This metal head approves. Beautiful, beautiful music. Thanks for the gift.
This metalhead(/goth) approves as well.

Actually, i think that someone can make a post black metal cover of her stuff, maybe on an Alcest style
@@abcrx32j I think Sylvaine (who also features Neige from Alcest) covers that area well for now - she also played live with Emma Ruth Rundle.
This one too. I love how her music seems to have such a big following among metal fans, to the point where a lot of her merch seems like metal band merch.
She is so gorgeous 🖤
Emma really is fantastic, she sings with incredible passion.
Love Emma Ruth Rundle so much. Her short lived band "Marriages" is absolute perfection. Random side note, her haircut here makes her look like a "dark" Angel Olsen

I absolutely love her voice
This really is fantastic. Gonna be looking for more artists like this via same source.
El que la entrevisto,,, se ve que la amo en toda la sesión 💖💖🫂quedo maravillado
Awesome. Audio Tree has the best artists. As well as the best production.
You don't know how much I like so this acoustic sesion.

She's my favorite. I LOVE everything she's done!
Emma Ruth and Chelsea Wolfe :)
Anhedonia 🎼🖤😌
@@jen-nahnuhnah7613 yeeeeees omg 😍💜 so amazing
It's rare to find an artist who's as beautiful as the music she sings, and vie versa.
Try Hope Sandoval, and her group Mazzy Star.
@@ramonster1972 😐
She is so beautiful. Love the Taylor guitar too c: love the vibe of this audiotape session in general
She’s such a fucking ADORABLY introverted artist 🖤🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🖤
I’m SO HOOKED on her music 🎼

Fuck the USA
Absolute beauty.
admiration ,respect et amour pour cette superbe artiste ,magnifique talent musical ....
this got to be huge. what a talent!
What a powerful & expressive musician !
I'd love to see "Savage "Saint" performed live!
Im near tears... beautiful.
Love Emma Ruth!
Don't we all...!
I downloaded this video, I can't afford to lose it.
Good idea, I also do that with the best ones. But conventional downloads, not YT Premium download where you loose it anyway when video gets deleted..
Wow, love this! Thanks Emma!
Best video ever made lol. She is so talented and beautiful
She's so talented and sweet and awesome, one of my favourite artist, definitely! The host is pretty nice too, I was watching the Marriages Audiotree session just before, he's a seems like a cool dude.
its cool when people conducting interviews with bands genuinely like the artist
I hear a strong influence from Tori Amos more so than Alanis Morrissette, although I can hear some Alanis in her voice and style for sure
I think both her appearance and her voice reminds me of Dolores O'riordan from The Cranberries... But she is also very much her own
With a drop of P.J.Harvey...
her voice is like an angel! so good!
this is really amazing! loved every minute of this Live session.
So amazing Emma!!!
Every single one of your songs are gold records

She brings in her nice and smooth Energy. Very sympathic...und a lot of positive energy..thx for this performance
Shook her hand once after a Marriages show. Amazing voice and artist.
But how was her handshake? :|
@@barcfutantv4718 bone crushing
I love her...Since Red Sparowes
Such beautiful Songs. Approved by a Metal Head.
I just dropped Dead this is so fucking Amazeballs .While into tears at some moments. Forwarded to my 19 year old daughter I do nothing but share music with.
God, they both are adorable :))
Goddamn. It's like Alanis Morrissette meets Chelsea Wolfe.
fray3dendsofsanity it was my love for Chelsea that made me aware of Emma and brought me here. Love how that works 😊
Switch Morrissette for Tori Amos and I agree. :PPPPPP

Good description! :)
Haunting! Incredible!
i felt in love with her at motocultor 2024...she is a godness
living with the black dog is one of my favourite songs of all time. this live version of it is transcendent and invaluable… 31:01 just kills me
Painfully beautiful
yooo Inuyasha is the bomb. just finished re-watching it.
really good
Emma, we're looking forward to see you in Mother Russia!
Su música es perfecta.
Last song is so sick I love it
a mulher canta muito!😍😘

no words needed just : ❤
no se puede subtitular al español?? Hermosisimo!
If they made a BraveStarr live action movie in the 90s this would make an adequate soundtrack.
With a voice like that, the woman doesn't need a guitar. Beautiful.
Definitely feeling some P.J. Harvey in here..x
Emma ❤
In some ways it's like she picked up where Alanis Morriset left off. They have similar sounding voices except Emma takes it to deeper more raw places.
emma your voice speaks to me like David Guilmour's guitar
Accurate af
This is fenomenal
savršenoo
I wonder if she plays Kikyo's theme when she is by herself. Fits her works so well.
awesome
атмосферная исполнительница. а я сначала подумал очередная штампованая инди-тёлочка с европейских улиц
Nice Shout-Out to Sun Kil Moon too, Damn Right
Dat voice, dat Martin, dat EQD, dose legs. She got it.
Daniel West, love your comment! What is an "EQD?" I'm sure I love it even if I don't know what it is!
EarthQuaker Devices
Wow! incredible!, and one of the sexiest Women I have ever seen or heard.
I love it
i fell in love with this girl
If anyone has figured out the chords to ANY of her songs, please tell me. I'd love to learn them!
On her recent RIg Rundown she says he tunes to DADGAD mainly.
Never thought I would be getting anime recomendations!! =P
Great Session!! Thanks for the video!
Whaat yesss, Tekkonkinkreet is an amazing film. gotta read the manga still...
Anyone else hear Alanis Morrisette in her vocals?
Intoxicating.
Is she tuned to DADGAD on Run Forever? Sounds like it may be a whole step down to C
perfeito! ;)
I love you.
Tekkonkinkreet ❤
Thank you! Not knowing itI found it hard to guess how it would be spelled.

GRUNGE TOUCH IN SECOND SONG, nice
Is there no way to buy this session on Bandcamp or whatever?
