She's lovely as an artist, I love her music, but don't mix pears with apples please haha, to become an operatic singer you need years of training and most of them would probably slay her technically. Anyway, music is not a competition, is not a sport, so it isn't worse or better, it's just very different stuff.

Some of my classmates like the most pop/radio songs from AMDGMAAF, i'd rather have those, who don't even touch it, not those, who pít it on instagram stories with video of themselves lookin in the camera or into a mirror just to show how atractive or anythin they are. It hurts. But when I had a presentation about her in school and played All Is Soft Inside (live at KEXP) which I loove and I nearly cried, they lough or look weirdly like "what the fuck".

Hi there, I hope I am not bothering you. Not really sure if this is appropriate to do or not, you make the decision. I have a web blog site where I have also created some pages supporting and promoting Aurora. Geir, Aurora’s manager checked out the site and was pleased. On her main page at the bottom there is a form where you can add a comment. I am planning if I get enough comments to put them on the page under the form. I have not received any comments. My thought and I am not forcing you to, no pressure, if you don’t want too it is completely okay, but I was wondering if I might use your comment on this video for my site, since this video is on my site. Let me know if it is alright. I love Aurora, and am just trying to be of some help, in some small way. Okay, thanks for listening to me. Have a good evening and be blessed. www.outofboxblog.com/aurora-main-page

Very cool comment. I'm in the exact same boat, just 10 years younger than you.. I grew up on music like Tool and Nirvana and all the rest...fucking amazing music. But there is without a doubt _as much_ amazing music _now_ as there was then. It's just waaay less centralized...so you have to seek it out or happen upon it. I happened upon Auorara...in part via my love of Grimes' music and entire approach. Aurora seems like Grimes mixed with Bjork....and she actually seems to be _as talented_ as them. I only found Aurora maybe 2 weeks ago, and I'm definitely in the obsession stage. Her entire presence is fascinating. And you can hear it _in_ the music itself. Lauren Mejia I don’t dispute that and I know that, but vibrating voice at falsetto is very very difficult due to stretching of the vocal chords. She has so much control over her voice that she can just do it at the edge of falsetto range which is super impressive.

Had I done that, I'd never have discovered this little wonder, the stylings from Lana Del Rey, Frederic Chopin (my favorite classical composer) to Frank Sinatra....there's so much special stuff out there that is sonically and spiritually just healing in my opinion.

I have a secret to share with you.
This lady sings like she is constantly surprised to rediscover every tone - even if she obviously can sing ever tone she wish (almost pitch-perfect - that allows production to not auto-tune her to death - allowing us to hear her voice is looking for the note).
She sings like she composes - hunting down notes needed. That consistently shift the direction of travel.
Even in her sadder songs - she sounds happy when she settles in even for the shortest note. Like it was fun to revisit/rediscover that note.
It gives her voice the feeling that she experiences "there you are, dear note" every single time - as she skips through the scale(s). Like she is constantly discovering.
The songs she writes are very harmonic in the minor key, but she kinds of finds them in in the "wrong order". While she sounds like she sings them in a major key. And this keeps us guessing.
When you listen to her pitch-perfect voice - you can kind of feel that she is is taking the shortest pause and say "thank you for being here wonderful note to sing" to the note itself.
She reminds me a lot of Erik Satie composing "The Gymnopédies" for piano. Such a pure and "simple" composition. And when you hear a really really good pianist playing The Gymnopédies - it is as if every tone is discovered for the first time - worthy to embrace. The note is there for a reason.
This is why she can cover Massive Attack and David Bowie and Leonard Choen tunes so well. They have notes that are there for a reason in their composition.

truth be told, Aurora's music isn't for everyone. just like how Melanie Martinez's, Sia's and even Lana del ray's music among others doesn't always work for all ears. But those who appreciate any of those artist, you cannot deny it hits way too different than mainstream music. It's surreal even that they just cannot be compared to anything.

Their music is different from pop music, but once you start listening to lots of ambient music, you realize that none of these musicians is entirely unique, and that's not meant as a slight at all. Just saying they are part of a genre and they definitely have resemblances to others. Start listening to the radio show Echoes and you will know what I mean.

I think a true appreciation for life, just life itself, dictates that at the very least you have to have an utmost respect for the beauty inherent in this experience (can't call it a show or concert, it's a soul experience). I truly believe that a human being that has a real connection with the world around them can love something like this, Melanie Martinez's, Sia's and even Lana del ray all the same. It's all beauty, soul, truth...expressions of what it means to be human and alive.

Wow, Winter Bird has never been my favourite Song of hers but in this arrangement with the organ it sounds absolutely magnificent.

She may be born of humans parents, but her soul absolutely comes from nature itself. She is immeasurably in touch with the magical/ethereal side of music and I can't even begin to do a description justice. The term "old soul" seems intended for exactly this kind of person. How else could she achieve such a depth of emotion and wisdom in her music at such a young age, let alone any age, within the human lifespan.

All our stars are old souls and angels.
      They have wings. Not seen.
They are members of the universe.
They are in the sky. A cloud of witnesses

Aurora really is a jewel. She's absolutely incredible - very few people give me goosebumps the way she does when she performs. One of the best musicians of our time in my opinion, and she has such a future ahead of her!

I love how many metalheads are here in the comments and are pulled in and falling in love with Aurora and her music. (she is a metalhead herself believe it or not) I find that everyone can find something special in Aurora. She is so different but in the best of ways possible. So beautiful, elegant, understanding, pure, raw, the embodiment of human and freedom and emotions. She's very special and I am so happy to be alive in her time! Been a fan for a couple years now. I'll never get tired of listening to her songs and watching her perform.

What about her draws in metalheads do you think?

    • @kaitlynlorentzen4375
      @kaitlynlorentzen4375 3 года назад +9

@@MargaretJEllis well, it might be her kind, accepting nature, the way she understands everyone no matter who they are. She just has this ethereal presence that people seem to be drawn too. I'm not sure the exact reason for a metalhead to love her music but everyone can find beauty in her messages and notions of life.

She has the uncanny ability to allow people to become vulnerable and emotional in a healthy introspective / hopeful way, while giving them the impression she's right there with them and they're not alone. We're all just humans in the end. Her music opens up people that never knew they had it in them, and many simply fall in love at first sight / listen. There are a lot of great singers... but I've never seen such an empathic singer. She's the therapist the world needs.
