Hiya Pete - great video mate, you sure gave the cover a thorough testing in the grass, dirt and gravel! The simplest solutions are usually the best, as in this case. Great that it's so easy to fit, too - and I guess you could swap one cover between a few chassis with just a little extra Velcro! Hope your weekend has started well, looks like the weather is going to hold for us - ideal for RCing and a few outdoor ales! Have a couple for me, mate! :O)
Hiya matey. I was actually planning to do another trip to somewhere with mowed grass like the golf course as that was always a problem for this car. Didn't have time and I think I proved that it works. I'm not sure how long Kamtec have been doing these but it's something I've been after for ages. Anyway, we have a family do later as it's my sister's birthday. A few drinks will get drunk for sure 😀 Other than that I'm out RC'ing tomorrow so just getting some batteries charged. Hope you're having a nice weekend. Best wishes to you my friend 😁
Hi Pete, hope you’re keeping well. Thank you for a useful and easy demonstration of a TT02 internal cover, seems to help keep the majority of the debris out of the key areas of the chassis. If it helps, that triangular section of the chassis below the steering arms, where debris can collect; a tip I picked up from Mark Bryan, fill that area with hot melt glue and level off. That will stop debris from getting in that section and jamming the steering. I finished my Range Rover now, runs well, got some replacement Arrma lower suspension arms, so got to get them fitted, ordered a new challenge in the shape of a 1/32th scale Orlandoo Hunter Land Rover with the bells and whistles, check out NanniRC he’s built the Rock Crawler version, looks like a challenging little model. All the best and keep well. 😉👌😆
Hiya John. Yes I have done the thing of filling in those bits of the chassis under the steering. I think that I gave Mark that tip because he got a TT-02 rally after me. I'd used Abro Steel on my first one but same effect. Glue gun glue is cheaper though. Anyway the Range Rover sounds good. I will head over to your channel and see what you've been up to. Best wishes to you my friend :-)
Hi Carmine. Yeah this is something I was trying to work out how to make for myself but thankfully Kamtec have done it for me. Hopefully prices will start to come down soon. Many thanks for watching my friend. Hope all is well :-)
Hiya Nick. Yes the dirt issue is a problem with these and it was putting me off using it. The cover is definitely worthwhile. Many thanks for watching my friend 😁
Hi Adam. Yeah I ran it for a lot longer than shown on the vid and no problems overheating. I guess you could make an air hole with some sort of filter if it became a problem. Yes the dirt going in is such a pain and this makes it much better. Many thanks for watching. Much appreciated 😁
@@shadow7037932 I’m thinking just mesh in general. Like a mesh “bag” that goes over it instead of solid plastic. Maybe stock 540 can not run too hard is fine but gotta wonder. Would a higher performance motor drawing more amps like maybe brushless heat up faster under all that solid plastic? Mesh bag I think is the ticket.
Hi there. I think that a solid plastic piece is easier to take on and off and keep in place. Like I was saying in the other comment I've not had a problem with this overheating and I've run this a lot since. Many thanks for watching and your feedback. Much appreciated.
Nice review and test, Pete. Seems to do a lot better than without, so that’s a win. Did it fit good with the Dual Ridge body? It was hard to see in the video. The body seemed set a little high. Anyway, top work for doing the test for all of us. Thank you!
Hiya Mikael. Yeah this is a good little upgrade. I will have another look at the fit on the TT-02B and let you know. I think that you would need to cut the holes at the ends bigger so it would sit lower. Anyway, many thanks for watching my friend. Hope all is well with you. Sunny here and been out RC'ing today which was great. Cheers for now 😁
Hiya Pete. Yeah Kamtec have certainly kept you busy with your CW-01 creations. Thanks for the vouchers matey. I need to get on and paint that lexan Lunchbox now 😁
@@PeteWylieRC You're more than welcome for the vouchers as they formed part of your Birthday Present 👏 Good Luck with the Lunchy shell 👍 I'm finally painting the Blitzer poly shell in fluorescent red today (hurrah) 👌 It should look cool with the white wheels 😎😎😎
@@PeteWylieRC You mean the Rally Lada? You didn't break it matey, I broke it with the first jump over the raised lump when it landed in its roof and I'm painting that later on today complete with new mesh fitted 👍 Should last for at least another rally session 😎
Hi Pete, great idea 💡 I think I need this for my plasma edge and dark impact if they do one for the chassis? Great upload as always with proper editing skills 👍👍👍🙏
Hi there. The Plasma Edge is TT-02B isn't it in which case this cover will fit. Don't think they do one for the Dark Impact chassis though. Many thanks for your great comments 😀
It's the Datsun 240 rally body. I got it from Hong Kong via eBay but that was a while ago so don't know if they are still available. Thanks for watching 😁
What can be more fun than just rip arround and make som dust and trying out a dustcover :D Would love to have some but postage and import from the UK now is way too expensive.
Yeah it was fun and the cover does make a big difference. It's a shame about the postage outside the UK. I have the same issue with some bits I get for my Arrma's that are only in stock in America. The post is more than the part! Many thanks for watching 😀
Hi there. No it seems to be fine. The TT-02 buggies have fairly tight fitting bodies that are similar to this cover and they work ok. Many thanks for watching and your comments 😁👍
Hi there. This has got a brushless set and lipo battery and it seems to run very cool so hasn't been an issue. Not sure if it would be more of an issue with a brushed setup and NiMH battery. I guess you could always cut an air hole and put fabric over. Thanks for watching 🙂
Hi there. I haven't had that so far. The lipo and brushless set doesn't seem to get all that hot. Not tried it with a more traditional nimh and brushed. Many thanks indeed for your kind feedback 😁👍
Hi there. No I never leave the battery in the car after the run as it's a lipo. I put it in a fireproof box for the journey home to be safe. Many thanks for watching 🙂
@@PeteWylieRC I was trying to eye up a plastic tub the other day in the cupboard to see if I could use something on the DT-02 to stop the dirt getting in.
@@DustyFingersRC With the DT-02 you can use a Sand Viper shell as a dust cover if you've got something like a Holiday Buggy or Beetle that lets all the dirt in.
