Brand has a long history of abuse and addiction. Throughout his life, his addictions and predilections have been varied, ranging from eating disorders to pornography addiction before resulting in excessive drug and alcohol use. He has also been diagnosed with ADHD and bipolar disorder, two factors that likely contributed to the growing cycle of abuse.
At the peak of his abuse, there were few drugs Brand wasn’t willing to take. Heroin was a personal favorite, but he also used crack, marijuana, meth, alcohol and hallucinogens.

Then also voted for the largest upward wealth transfer in human history at $5trillion in the C.A.R.E.S. Act that he _did not_ have to vote for, while Americans were starving and being evicted.
Then shouted down his _own former campaign manager_ in a crowd who demanded accountability for pushing us closer to nuclear war.
He just helped crush rail unions, which is committing actual fascism.

There is no point in the past in which even the average low income American was as well off as they are now. When I was a kid in the 1970s, thousands of Americans were dying in an overseas war, inflation was far higher than it has been recently, along with a recession where many were out of work, and you had to wait in line for an hour to put gas in your car. There was no Obamacare to help people get health insurance, and there was tons of crime in the cities, far worse than now. The only reason anything has gotten worse in the very last few years is because of Covid's effects on the economy (and some of the mistaken attempts to fix it). But things are still better than they were then, and even very poor Americans have many more consumer products and conveniences than at any time in the past.

The founders of the labor movement viewed unions as a vehicle to get workers more of the profits they help create. Government workers, however, don’t generate profits. They merely negotiate for more tax money. When government unions strike, they strike against taxpayers. F.D.R. considered this “unthinkable and intolerable.”
Government collective bargaining means voters do not have the final say on public policy. Instead their elected representatives must negotiate spending and policy decisions with unions. That is not exactly democratic - a fact that unions once recognized.

Today, California has the highest concentration of homelessness and welfare of any state in the country with Democrats in full control of every major political office as well as every major city including Los Angeles and San Francisco. Republicans are ignored as Democrats force policies that create more poverty and homelessness including:
Rent Control: In theory it sounds good to prevent rent from increasing on poor; but multiple studies show it causes housing shortages that reduce the number of low-income people who can live in a city while raising the demand for housing. Further, it deters new housing construction and worsens the homelessness problem creating more homelessness than homes avaliable. And the highest drug use and crime and so on.
