I’ve always liked Ben McKenzie as an actor, from back when he was in Southland….. never realized he was so passionate about financial crime and regulation. It’s my understanding that the Tennessee House was in recess at the time of the incident. There was no official government proceeding being interrupted like it was on Jan 6th. Nobody was being threatened or rushing to find safety and hide from the teenagers who came to demand gun-safety legislation.

I think his analogy was good. The point of an analogy isn't to say the two things are the same, it's the underlying connection between the two. And analogies are most effective when you use an extreme more clear cut example to point out the connection to the original that isn't clear cut. That was one of the best shows I have seen of Real Time. The debate between Katie Porter and Piers Morgan was excellent. It could not have been better scripted. The interview over Crypto was also perfect and informative. And each "performer" was absolutely perfect in their role. And there is no doubt that Bill Maher is a consummate professional, who does his bits with perfection. I think Piers Morgan just completely overwhelmed Katie Porter, whose intelligence I had previously thought quite intelligent. She is on the wrong side of that issue, and its weakness is getting clearer day by day. Anyway, great show, the New Rules was really strong.

The Tennessee three we're following MLK Jr's tactics and philosophies, and it's a shame no one on the panel could see that. In fact, they sound just like the people who were opposing MLK at the time-- saying that instead of protesting, look towards due process and trust the rule of law and decorum to get your justice. It’s my understanding that the Tennessee House was in recess at the time of the incident. There was no official government proceeding being interrupted like it was on Jan 6th. Nobody was being threatened or rushing to find safety and hide from the teenagers who came to demand gun-safety legislation.

If you don't understand how the Tennessee legislature works, it's voice vote in committee and essentially there have been many times that committee heads did not hear the same thing as everyone else. TN really needs to change their voting system in commitees.

That was one of the best shows I have seen of Real Time. The debate between Katie Porter and Piers Morgan was excellent. It could not have been better scripted. The interview over Crypto was also perfect and informative. And each "performer" was absolutely perfect in their role. And there is no doubt that Bill Maher is a consummate professional, who does his bits with perfection.
I think Piers Morgan just completely overwhelmed Katie Porter, whose intelligence I had previously thought quite intelligent. She is on the wrong side of that issue, and its weakness is getting clearer day by day. Anyway, great show, the New Rules was really strong.
Are you seriously thinking Piers made intelligent remarks? He and Bill just overpowered Ms. Porter with words not informed positions. White men do that all the time.

Jagadananda no facts about crypto, FTX was a scam from the start. How many regular banking scams have there been. Plenty of transaction being done, millions and millions an hour on the blockchain. It’s on the internet, remember when all the experts said that the internet was just a fad? The criminals all get caught, you might think crypto and the dark web are anonymous but they are forever, it never goes away, whatever you do there can’t be hidden completely, just like AI will take most all jobs, AI with autonomous robotics it will all run thru blockchains which all the mining makes secure. The mining is absofucinlutely not just guessing! That was the most stupid remark of any guest ever! But Bill keep hawking for your federal reserve buddies and in God we trust fiat currency that left Bill Clinton with such a high approval rating because he left the country with a surplus you moron had nothing to do with an impeachment fool!

The Tennessee three we're following MLK Jr's tactics and philosophies, and it's a shame no one on the panel could see that. In fact, they sound just like the people who were opposing MLK at the time-- saying that instead of protesting, look towards due process and trust the rule of law and decorum to get your justice. We look back and eye roll at MLK's opposition for that lame excuse, and that excuse is still an eye roll today-- especially when they tried have debate and talk about gun policy, and was silenced each time.
Bill Maher is losing his memory, I think. He's not the same. Such a stark difference with other comedians.
