Just a heads up I do not work for this company just visiting to get ideas. I'm probably wrong on the sizes I mentioned, and prices vary with appliances and customizations. Hope you enjoy all the layouts and I look forward to building my tiny house very soon!

Those are really small, I do like some of the colors and appliances. Great way to get some ideas. Stay away from stackable washer and dryers, electric stoves and side by side ref, just my opinion from experience.

I'm glad you like this book. It sounds like a very useful and informative resource for shed-building enthusiasts. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxzaRUJNcbypw-fRBDbqqz43ULIa-1EGP- The author seems to have a lot of experience and knowledge on how to build sheds of different styles and purposes. You must have learned a lot from his tips and examples. The photos are also impressive, they demonstrate the quality and beauty of the sheds. The book itself is also well-made, with glossy, thick paper and a soft cover that is pleasant to touch. This book is a wonderful choice. blush

I love the homes at the Athens, TX location, but there's a huge problem of where to place these homes. So many ridiculous restrictions that prohibit these 399 sq ft park model homes. Even mobile home parks don't allow because they want double wide homes. It is insane!!!!

@@perpetualmotion8090 I had to move from my RV park because the rent space kept going up. Utilities were also not included so had about $150 more on top of $650. Also always check with management because when I sold my trailer the lot rent went up for new owner. It would be better to buy your own lot. Spur Texas has very reasonable priced lots. That is the problem of getting a tiny home is where can you park it and how much would that cost.

Just a heads up, if you put a TV or other electric appliance under a mini-split, make sure you put a shelf under the mini-split, prefereably with a gutter built into it leading away from the TV below...in case the mini-split leaks. Every tiny home needs a loft or 2. Consider a loft at both ends. We need a reason to choose a tiny home over a van. How about 2 lofts with a cat walk to connect. Then utilize the catwalk for cabinets plus walkway. No carpet. Where would keep a vacuum cleaner? How can a person vacuum a loft? Each loft needs a high spot to be able to sit in a chair, like an office, sewing / hobby area. That would be the slam dunk in my book! I look Fred to seeing what you will do.

Someday we hope to have a tiny house on a small piece of property for a get away! I know you have mentioned building something 12 feet wide...You might want to consider building something a little wider. A good portion of the houses Mr. Tiny posts are wider and are still on the smaller side. It looks like you are having fun researching and getting ideas! Good luck!

I've thought about layouts for a dream tiny house, and in all I've taken a wall and designed an entire wall of storage. Just make a variety of boxes, different sizes and shapes. Make the doors flush with a small gap so the wall looks sorta like a puzzle. A lot of storage condensed to one area and with pop open doors and no handles it looks like a cool design feature.

I like having the porch on the houses, gives you an option to expand if necessary, even if it is just to screen it to use for 3 seasons. If you are building your own, you can always make it taller to provide more headroom in a loft, or even make it a second story room for visitors. I'm too old to be crawling around in a loft, so I'd rather a single story with little guest houses all around the main house. Looking forward to seeing your vision come to life.

This company (Recreational Resort Cottages & Cabins) is well known for customizing their homes to a customer's choices. Their channel shows off a lot of models (tiny, single section, multi section), & they've even toured a few homes after they were bought, customized, & shipped to the owner's property. They definitely do not cut corners on quality. I'm sure it wouldn't be out of the question for them to take one of their floor plans & have it designed however he wanted it.

I liked the first one overall, but loved the windows in the living area in the last one. Btw, I have one of those shade in doors, and love it!! I would recommend putting that in your bedroom out to your back patio though, rather than the front door. I also love the pocket door concept (I have one to my bathroom and love it) as it saves so much space. I also love the barn doors in the bedrooms - gives it so much character. I’m so excited for you and can’t wait to see what you create.

Since yours on the ranch won't be portable, you might want to go 2 story (or half 2 story) with the slanted ceiling only 7 or 8 foot ceilings instead of the 3 foot loft set up. Looking forward to the build. PS: you should go white with black trim, a lot of black will absorb a lot of heat.

Good morning Jared. The tiny houses are nice. The loft areas caught my eye and got me thinking the height is for transportation clearance. Building your own is what caught my imagination. I think it was the 3rd. one, with the wood floor or the 4th. one with the 3' ceiling. You can build the walls in the loft to 6' and make this a large living room or master bedroom. You showing of these homes was very informative on what is possible! I know you are doing pier and beam but a basement might be a thought. Definitely could use it as a room but also a storm shelter. Enjoyed the video.

This so nice…it is ironic that I grew up in the 70s in Texas on an acre in a 12ft x 40ft mobile home. I always wondered what it would be to live in a big house. There were two bedrooms and one bath with a living room and kitchen combined. There were five us: three girls, mama, and daddy. Our bedroom was 9ft x 12ft. We had a small closet. Our daddy built us wooden cubed shelves and two longer ones had doors so we put our clothes in there. We got to pick out paint colors for our own section of shelves. We had a set of bunk beds and trundle underneath. No room when the trundle bed was out, once in bed, you stayed in bed. We were pretty poor but we had all we needed. There were no secrets in that house, because you could hear everything that went on. Lol. Every time I hear the theme for Mannix or Kojak…it takes me back to we girls laying in our beds trying to go to sleep and not getting in trouble for giggling while our parents watched TV in the living room. What a wonderful, safe, and loving place, no place like home!

My favorite is 16 GORGEOUS!! Can you take the features that you like from each one and pull them into one of your own. Love the dishwasher, barn door closets, large kitchen sink, love the huge faulted ceiling .😊

Good job on the tiny house tours. Very cool to see them all.
For your house, speaking as a house cleaner, black sinks, glass shower doors and black facets show mineral build up from hard water really bad and it’s constant maintenance to keep them looking new. If you have hard water, I would highly suggest a water softener if you plan on having the above listed materials. Just something to think about.
Love your videos and keep up the good work!

I believe the shower in the second to the last house you showed was called a walk-in shower. It doesn’t come with a door.😊

The loft could be a bedroom but a cute love seat at the top of the stairs would be cool. Would have to be the right one.

Great job. I was watch Tiny Houses on TV and then came to RUclips to see some. I saw one on TV that a father who makes Tiny Houses made his daughter a Tiny House that had a pop-up for the loft and his daughter could actually stand up with it up. Also a pop out for the living room. He built it for under $40,000.

The carpet on the loft/2nd floor makes TOTAL SENSE!!! I'm not a big fan of carpet either, but if the ceiling is only 3ft, you're probably going to be crawling around a bit. I'm sure carpet would be easier on the knees opposed to hardwood.

When I'm ready to buy my tiny house, I want the dark wood in the kitchen one. That entire look is me and it's only $68k. Oh I'm so happy now. I'd make the bottom bedroom as my walk in closet. I have it all planned out.

Great video. Like the larger showers. Porch is great for rainy days and drying off before going inside. Stair storage drawers is a definite plus. And a dishwasher is unnecessary for 1 or 1 people. Extra storage is better.

My choice would be the one with the kitchen across the front ( just not that exterior color lol)..
Add a small eat at counter so you can enjoy a meal and watch out all those front windows and if you have company can carry on a conversation with guests. Less wasteful hallway space.
I would want the loft for a queen bed, the larger lofts are just too much..
If its possible I'd go another 10' in length. 5' living room and 5' bedroom.
Add a covered patio on site.
I agree the big mini split in those small bedrooms are too much. The ceiling fans would be larger.
Love that darker sink and add a matching small dishwasher.
Look forward to see your tiny house.

Jared, u r a welcomed host. I live in Florida & am looking for a tiny house as close to my location as possible to keep down expensive travel. However I really enjoyed the touring of all ur tiny houses & I definitely would steer ur way anyone looking for some of the exquisite housing I saw at ur behest. Thank u kindly for ur pleasant, no pressure style of salesmanship. Even gave the general pricing which is an important component of sales. I know u said u were just getting info for ur own tiny house but u should get a commission, u don't realize what a service u put forth. Thanks & I wished I lived in Texas. Got too much gator in me.
