Not what I was looking for. I wantvto place an echo dot in an elderly person's home so that they can use it to turn off and on lights. Set reminders & alarms and play music. Their mobile phone is old and can't install the Alexa app but as she is living in sheltered housing she does have WiFi coverage.

MY PROBLEM WITH ALEXA ECHO DOT SPEAKERS IS THAT IT WILL NOT SEND MY CORRECT "CALLER ID" INFORMATION, BUT RATHER, MY ALEXA ECHO DOT SENDS SOME STRANGE NUMBER FROM ANOTHER STATE THAT THE PERSON I'M CALLING DOES NOT RECOGNIZE; THEREFORE, THE PERSON I'M CALLING DENIES THE CALL & WILL NOT ANSWER! I NEED ALEXA ECHO DOT TO SEND MY CORRECT "CALLER ID".

Do seniors have to have a smart phone to use Alexa?
