Welding thick wall tubing is not the test. Try .035" or .028" thin wall 4130 aircraft structural tubing if you like frustration. Practice and patience are the key, along with the correct and size filler rod. Try using ER309L 1/16 filler rod for more control on your stainless.

I tried this method, and ended up sparking and spitting and balling the rod -lots of excitement, but not good result :D Very much appreciate your thoughts!
Your videos are terrific. I have had an everlast ext 255 for about 2 years, very little tig time, and very mixed results. Tig is for entertainment, I mostly use this for stick. I watch plenty of tig instructional videos. Yours are ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you could do any videos with this prossess called cold welding, so i could under stand what is going on. Its like it is somekind of hocus pokeus.
Cold welding is A JOKE. Unless you need to weld two razor blades together, a cold welder has no purpose in this world. Cold welders do not make a strong weld. Chinese JUNK
Can you show us dual welding with stainless steel? It’s very common in tank fabrication. I dont think I’ve ever seen a video on it and it would be helpful to people new to the trade.
Вариться очень легко, но только с поддувом. Я котлы делаю, горловину толщиной 0.7 мм привариваю к 1.5мм без проблем! Но везде с поддувом ! Шлака и каши нет, ни с одной стороны.
@@Kulak-223 а если это перила или огорождение? Поддув тут не катит. И как бороться с короблением? Фиксация труб не особо помогает. Какая техника сварки, порядок существует?
@@СергейРаков-п2т Перила так же можно задуть . Сделать в нужных местах пробки . Лишние стыки заклеить скотчем бумажным. Варите в разбег. Да, будет дороже. Но тут вам выбирать, качество или скорость , деньги... Или пользуйтесь его методом.
Perfect video , but I do miss your commentary . Why not run a high pulse with a low background current and a slow time so the arc can stay lit and keep the work illuminated , ?
I have done this and it works. No need for an HF arc start for each pulse. If background current is low enough, the puddle can solidify and the workpiece can cool a little between high pulses. However you need to have very low background current for small/thin pieces, and some welders cannot provide background current that is low enough. Also I would want to make sure I had enough penetration. The hammer-flattening of the tube end was a neat idea!
here's a tip. if your puddle is running away from you so much its leaving a hole. keep adding filler and moving forward, draw the heat out and cool with filler rod. I weld aluminum 18ga with gaps and don't burn through, 1/16- 3/32 inch gaps that is!

Uh, I try to avoid gaps. (Need all the help I can get.) Easiest way to get a no-gap fit is to use a milling machine, like I did recently while welding some 4130 tubing. I’d never done that kind of a joint before, and am a bit surprised it actually worked out passably. Still, though - this is useful, *like when you can’t get the good fitups.*
Oh, come back when you have understood that he was actually making a point by intentionally cutting the edge off. The video will become educational for you, when you are ready for it. ;-)

In cold welding one high amperages for very short intervalls. The welds are usually not fused correctly because of that.

А как вы свариваете трубы где толщина стенки 1.0 или 1,5 мм ? И как избежать коробления труб в месте сварки?

В трубку подал 3-4л газа, на сбросе отверстие 3мм.
да и давить нужно более на целую стенку, а не на край :)такой зазор это мелочь.
