      @JD-bw5je 3 месяца назад

      Do not rinse you want to keep the flouride on your teeth and they are expensive but invest in an oral b toothbrush with the app it shows you exactly how to brush how hard soft where your missing, i always thought i did and ok job till i got one, teepee brushes for inbetween the teeth seems very important too because its the gaps that bacteria is building in and thats where we miss when brushing with a regualr toothbrush, ive always over done it expecially on the gumline so im alot softer now

    1. Exterior open bite caused by exercise thumb sucking
    2. gum growing in between teeth made sensitive by excessive pressure brushing teeth in some parts of the jaw

    I tick all those boxes you mention as reasons for gum recession ----> history of gum disease (that led to bone loss), orthodontics in my late 40s (big mistake), thin biotype / gums ....aggressive brushing technique as well...I have Millers class 2-3-4 recession pretty much all over.....everything you explain here I've heard from multiple periodontists. Although my gums are very healthy, once the damage is done to your gums, its done.
    Here's what I've experienced (for sake of sharing) ---> Alloderm treatment on my lower gums was a total failure (it didn't take and actually made the recession worse). I then had a Free Gingival Graft (FGG) on my lower 4 teeth (another Perio) which was successful in terms of expectations set by the Periodontist, i.e. "I can thicken up the gums, but recession coverage is not guaranteed".....I'm thinking of following this area with a Connective Tissue Graft (CTG) as I've seen/read about the success of a two-staged approach with patients with bad recession.
    I've also had a CTG on my lower teeth to the side.....this procedure was by far the best at getting recession coverage (i.e. gum tissue height).
    I've said I've seen MANY perios (6+) over the last 3-4 years and it's an interesting speciality, to say the least.....in my experience, its difficult to find an experienced Perio in the field of gum grafting (at least in QLD < Australia)......a lot are conservative and a lot lack the true technical and clinical skill to treat complex gum recession cases.....as such, their consultation isn't necessarily based on what's technically possible or what's in your best interests as a patient, but moreso influenced by their lack of skills and experience (which they'll never tell you). In fact, I've consulted with a general dentist with far more gum surgery and grafting experience than most of the Periodontist I've seen.
    Anyway, don't give up guys - keep researching and searching until you find someone who will help.

      That part about so called "professionals" giving advise based on there own abilities, even worse, lack of abilities is absolutley disgusting. Ego driven, and unfortunately seems to be universal in this profession. Yes I realize everyone's situation is different, but if you are inexperienced with a procedure that will affect a person for the rest of there lives, it is your duty to disclose that, whether they ask or not. It's a shame I have to basically interigat my dentist to try and see if I believe that they 1) are even telling me the truth about my dental issues, 2) if they can or have ever done that procedure, and 3) if there are any better procedures available to me outside of there office somewhere in the worls. There needs to be greater consequences for this malpractice. Finding a good honesty dentist is worth his or her weight in gold, and we absolutely appreciate there skill and honor.

    I don't think enough work is being done with stem cells concerning this issue. Or growth hormones. There ought to be some chemistry that stimulates gum growth, and I am sick+tired of this issue being avoided. Alligators can grow as many sets of teeth as they need. And humans ought to be able to do the same. Who is on top of the stem cell game?

    Hi doc. Love your content. I was wondering what your opinion is on the 3 on 6 implants without the fake gums. Is it a better option than all on 4 or all on 6? It looks to me as if it would be easier to keep clean. I saw a video on a person that had their all on 4 removed & there was a lot of nasty green stuff on his gums that built up over time between the fake gums & real gums. To me, it does seem like the 3 on 6 would be a better choice as far as keeping the gums clean, but I would like to hear your take on it. Ye or ne?

      It is the stuff nightmares are made of, i have messaged to have a consultation with dr gurs but i went to see someone else today for a dental plant consultation.
      Im at my nhs hygienist dentist every 3 months for cleans im finding the more times i go the more gum im loosing each time.
      My new problem is tooth mobility i had some gaps so got a private dentist to put a bit of composite to close the gaps they would not do them to the gum line so i had triangles at the top still so i could clean them still.
      So im using teepee brushes all sizes and i have a water floss im going to buy a oral b electic toothbrush too im brushing properly 3 times a day, it has not improved my condition.
      This is going on so much but girls get to a private dentist pay and get the consultation because today i was told if i keep on top of my cleaning i can save my bottom teeth and my upper back teeth kn both sides, i am going to have to get my front 4 teeth removed i have 70% boneloss in this area and around 50% everywhere else im heart-broken i have cried for days so i can not have implants right now i need to have teeth removal then a part denture and then i think a bone graft before i can even get to implants.
      Im still going to get a consultation with dr gurs if i can and see if i have anh more options but who has all that money lying around and people say go abroad but when you have the problems i do its not as simple as that id go there and end up sent back home with no teeth 😅 goodluck to you both x

I only need 1 front tooth removed and he will be placing an implant too which is amazing because i was told thus was not possible by another dentist and apart from that its just composite bonding for the other 3 front teeth so it looks better, iv had another deep clean today at my regular dentist too, i will let you know how i get on, but will you let me know how you get on with the new system your trying please

    I went to the second dentist to seek second opinion on xmas eve. He spotted minor cracks on the top of the 2 molar. He mention that he is unable to determine the problematic teeth. He request the next appointment to be placed in 2 months time. After that day, I start to have issues on my bottom right molar as well. It is experiencing sharp sensitivity when I first drink water. Subsequently, it went away.
