I used oil pulling with either sesame oil or coconut oil, infrared light therapy and myrrh essential oil and my gum above my eye tooth has grown back. I oil pull in the morning for 20 minutes. On occasion when I use coconut oil I will put in the myrrh oil in with it. At night I will put the myrrh oil right on the gum and I will rub it in and around the gum. Then I will also use my infrared light therapy for 12 minutes. I’ve been doing this for 7 months, and I am not doing it consistently everyday. I only have a tiny little hole left in the gum. The gum has grown back. My dentist was in shock.
Makes you wonder how come they do not really know anything but how to graft to make more money so is really is not about patient but all about making them more money!!!
Pulling oil saved my teeth. I was flossing, brushing and waterpiking my teeth, but I still had gum recession. When my dentist said that I needed a gum graft, I started looking for another solution. I put a spoonful of coconut oil in my mouth for about 10-15 minutes every morning, before brushing and just move it around my mouth. Make sure you spit it out in the garbage, don't spit it in the sink or toilet or it will cause plumbing problems. Oil pulling has stopped my gum recession, it made breath fresher and made my teeth will feel more firmly in place. I told 3 of my friends who had similar problems and two of them have stopped their gum recession as well. While my gums did not regenerate, they have not receded any further. Try it for a week, it may help you as well. EDITED to answer questions that are repeatedly asked. I don't recommend one brand of oil over another, I use any type of organic coconut oil. If you don't like/can't use coconut oil, try sesame oil, sunflower oil or olive oil. If oil in your mouth makes you gag, start by using less oil, for a shorter amount of time and build your way up.
That's great advice, thank you! So you would always do this treatment with coconut oil before brushing? Can one maybe do it afterwards too or always before brushing your teeth?
@@ginafromcologne9281 Always before brushing. I do it just after I wake up, keep it in my mouth while I get dressed and make my bed, then spit it out in a paper towel.

@Katerina look up coconut oil pulling. It stopped my sensitivity. It's hard to keep up on a regular basis, but it does help keep your mouth clean. Also look up rinsing with hydrogen peroxide/water blend. That can also help tremendously.
I was freaking out after seeing my upper two teeth's gums kinda shrinking and your explanation really calmed me down after seeing gums between my teeth and hearing it can be treated, thank you!

@@aguiremedia im not a dentist but its just my theory, brushing takes 3 or 2x a day while visiting a dentist will only take once a month or twice a year. More or so brushing teeth incorrect plus hard bristle will prevent your gums to recover.
This guy makes me feel like everything is going to be OK! I don't even have these issues & RUclips suggested this for me (I don't know why), but his voice is soothing & makes me love him!
I know this might not work for everyone but switching to an electric toothbrush with a circular brush and a gentle cycle changed everything for me, when I was using a manual brush I would brush so hard which is not healthy for my type of teeth which are pretty small.
So true, I had gum disease and changed my diet, took supplements and visited the dentist who extracted 2 decayed teeth. I did oil pulling (moringa oil) and flossed everyday. Rinsed with a Mouthwash and brushed lightly for two minutes each morning and each night. I did this consistently which prevented plaque build up and irritation. I had the black triangles between each tooth on the top set, however, 6 months on my gums are fully recovered and the gaps are no longer. It takes time, effort and a lot of TLC, but the results are amazing. I am not OCD with my teeth, but I am definitely more aware of my dental duties and have managed to save any more teeth from being affected. I had one filling, and an enamel erosion fixed with some gel like substance so there would be no further damage to the tooth. All in all I think I got very lucky.
Why do Americans say “I’m not ocd” ocd stands for obsessive compulsive disorder.. you wouldn’t say “I’m obsessive compulsive disorder” would you it seems rather silly? Also this is not a insult but rather a question I’m glad you fixed your gum and tooth issue I’m having issues currently and am desperate for help all the best
Brush three times, floss with water after each meal or even after drinking coffee and tea. Stop overeating sugar, or if you are a sugar addict, then floss and gargle with water right after the consumption. The primary cause of tooth decay is that we are ignorant about it. Using a good and soft brush with the correct brushing technique and regular three times brushing will treat most cases. The more important thing is to stop munching in between meals. Our teeth are the most ignorant part of our body. I have had no cavities for the last 26 years and go to my dentist every year. Just take your responsibility and protect your money, time, and energy. Dental Industry is not different than any insurance, food, or medical industry.
Good your technique works for you. There's also a genetic component. Although this video is about gum health, not cavities, sometimes, in spite of the greatest oral hygiene some people are prone to cavities. In families you'll see some folks who hardly see dentists and do basic oral care hardly get cavities while others take every preventative measure and get them. Many folks have great teeth and periodontal disease from gum neglect or harsh care.
Nope, it's all genetics 99%. Your teeth are exactly as of your parent in 99% of cases. And your eyesight. And hair density. Everything. There are millions of people who don't even brush and have amazing spotless teeth. And there are those who do everything and their teeth are a joke. There are kids whose teeth grow already destoyed.
I agree the dentist I see is nasty and chew me out over my gum recession. I wish they were more knowledgeable and friendly like the dentist in this video.
You are very knowledgeable. Anyone who is having work done by you is not only lucky but in good hands. I just turned 50 and am going through a few different dental issues that seem to be happening all at once. I used to wonder why people would walk around with missing teeth but now I understand considering cost. It’s sad that many people can not afford care, especially when the problems didn’t occur from lack of dental hygiene
Many can't afford a dentist here in the U.S. I do have insurance, it covers up to 1200 bucks a year. I had a implant done, cost me 3 grand out of my pocket. Expensive to say the least. So many out there have poor teeth, due to no insurance & lack of money. Sad situation.

Teeth and gum health comes from giving up refined carbs sugar and flour. My teeth and gums have improved dramatically since i did this. Also use plastic toothpicks after every meal, and brush less frequently, with a natural paste like salt and bicarb.
H-pylori causes gum disease. TheyLOVE all you just mentioned. Get tested. The breath test or a biopsy (endoscopy) is the most accurate, but you can also have your stool tested.

I replied to Linda Lor's comment below. Since Linda has 368 comments as of today, 11/28/2022, I thought I would provide my comment here as well. IMPORTANT: Please do not spit out into your sink any oils that you use for oil pulling into your sink drain. In the same way, grease from cooking will clog up your drains, and the same will happen if you spit out the oil you use for oil pulling into your sink. Hi Linda, I enjoyed reading your comment, you provided important information. Unfortunately, I simply can not do oil pulling in the way it should be done. The alternative that is working for me is to use coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil on my toothbrush to brush my gums and teeth. Before brushing my teeth, I use a tongue scraper to gently and lightly scrape my tongue to remove the bacteria that has built up on my tongue (there are lots of videos on the procedure). If you don't have a tongue scraper you can use a spoon. My brushing procedure with oil and with toothpaste is as follows (I use a brushing procedure that I learned while watching a video on a biologic/holistic Dentist/DDS website): (1) I brush the front of my upper teeth starting from above my teeth on my gums and proceed down from my gums to brush each tooth. (2) I do the same procedure for the back of my upper teeth. (3) I then do the same front and back brushing of my lower teeth. (4) I then use my water pik (on either number 2, 2.5 or 3). I follow a procedure when using it that was demonstrated on a biological/holistic Dentist/DDS website. (5) Then I use a small amount of a holistic brand of toothpaste in the same brushing procedure or I make my own toothpaste. (6) I use my water pik to finish the process. At times I add holistic products to the water in my water pik to help the health of my teeth and gums. I use any brand of coconut oil (that is solid or liquid) or I use extra virgin olive oil. I look for any or all of these qualities in the products that I use such as unrefined, cold-pressed, expeller-pressed, extra virgin, organic, and non-GMO.
No worry friends. 😊 I had receeding gum for some reasons which were not mentioned by the dentists. The problem was just obvious for years. I guess one of the reasons was I had brushed my teeth too hard over years. I did one thing to improve immediately. I swish 1 tablespoon 🌱🍵 store bought aloe vera juice at night for 30 mins to 1 hour before going to bed. I see my gum grow back the next day like the photos of “before” and “after” at the post of this video. Isn‘t it amazing?!Of course I adjust to brush the teeth more gently. I don’t swish aloe vera juice every nite, only whenever I remember to disinfect the mouth. Aloe vera juice does have some healing, anti-bacterial and anti-imflammation properties like a miracle. ✨✨
Seriously... You better filming the difference and share, because some result maybe due to your lifestyle such as meal you take daily and health condition. Anyway thanks for the sharing.
Increasing calcium intake can also increase teeth and bone density so they wont break down or wear out as quick but before you increase your calcium intake make sure you have the right amount of blood cells to store and use up the minerals to rebuild your self, your blood cell count is very important for good overall health internally and externally
Kale, any dark leafy green has a lot of calcium. Careful not to over supplement it will also cause osteoporosis. And vitamin c is important for good gum tissue health.
Most people have enough calcium stored in their body . If you’re gonna take calcium you need vitamin k 2, to transport the calcium out of your veins and into the right places or else You will harden your arteries . Sports nutrition has a decent k2 supplement .

I healed my receding gums naturally and my dentist told me I would lose my tooth if I didn't get the surgery. 1. Electric toothbrush is key (dont add extra pressure or move the brush around or up and down when cleaning). 2. Natural mineral filled toothpaste without fluoride , I used the Fennel flavour Nelsons Natural toothpaste and I think it was a key component in healing my gums. Warning is does taste and have weird texture but totally worth it (also helped me build back some enamel which my dentist says was impossible) 3. Watch your diet, try to limit sugar and drink primarily water.
Dr. Gurs I wish you was here in the USA. I've been told that restoration for gums was not possible but can be controlled not to lose more. OMG, you are a lifesaver! I am so glad that I just happened to have come across your channel! My dentist has a hygienist and I swear that as a result of her advice my teeth are going to fall out! she told me to use these little brushes instead of flossing and said to me that they really get in between the teeth and take everything out since I started to do it, I noticed that my teeth moved, not only that but my front lower teeth the gum has gone right down! .. Watching this vlog I now know what is wrong! I am told that I have a gum disease called periodontal and that my teeth cannot be saved! I don't believe this as I don't think my teeth are in such a bad place like the ones that you have shown us. I am definitely going to find an independent periodontist and then come to you!
It’s entirely possible if they are telling you you have periodontal disease, that the little brushes are *helping* and, like he explains clearly in the video, your gum only *looks* like it’s receding because it’s becoming less inflamed and the disease is going away 🤦🏼♀️
You are very gentle in your explanation. Just the way you amply explain it is a while kindness. I had heard of skin graft. I’m not sure what cause the recession. All I recall was after having some stubborn plaque removed, the sensitivity to one back too started. The lady who explain about the graft was not even as kind as you. She came in to save her colleague who performed the plaque removal. The technician took face pictures of me, the dentist lady came Delivered the graft option briefly Put some varnished on my teeth, which I later bought on my own, bombarde me with some bills and that was it! I never returned to that place.
I am stuck watching my smile just crumble away 😭 I had a reaction to the DPT shot as a baby and had seizures as a result. The anti seizure meds started destroying my teeth before they even grew in... I don’t understand why dentist claim gums cannot grow back. They clearly can and there is plenty of proof out there. Why shouldn’t the body be able to regenerate? Hi Dr. Gurs! Thank you for the information in this video; I have asked about my gums recessing and the answer has been “at your age …” . My hygiene is impeccable and oral health is great. Having this problem has been frustrating because I had no recommendations on what to do. Now, I have hope. Big grateful hug going your way! 💙
Do you get your vitamin D3 levels checked once a year? Many of us older people have vitamin D3 deficiency which can cause bone loss in your face and gum area. It is very important to keep your D3 levels high as D3 is needed for many functions in your body. It must be taken with K2..not calcium.
I've been scarred to death since a friend of my sister was told by his dentist that they would have to remove all of his teeth because of his gum recession. This was apparently due to smoking. My gums are slightly recessed and i smoke, so I was losing my sanity. My dentist told me that she wouldn't take off all my teeth, so that was a little relief eheh. Thank you for your knowledge!
I realized (finally!) that I shouldn't brush aggressively. When I was a child, my father told me it was good to brush my teeth hard and I believed him. My teeth and gums are healthy other than the fact that they had receded so much that my teeth were a little bit loose which even apparently affected the alignment of my teeth. After a year or so of being gentle on my gums, the gums have grown back, my teeth feel stronger (not loose) and the alignment is much better!
I had gum graft done on one of my bottom teeth and the tooth still looks the same. Tissue was just placed on my bottom gums not around the tooth. I expressed my concerns to the periodontist but she insisted that what she did was only to prevent more gum receding not to cover the bone of the tooth. Wish I had done research before I proceeded with this periodontist. Now I have to get a second opinion 🙄 thanks for your video.
The bone definitely should have been covered. However I think maybe the bottom front teeth is a difficult area. I don't know if yours was in the front but I had several done and the ones in my bottom front look meh. My perio is great but that spot is just a problem area for me where plaque builds up quick no matter what I do. So the gum doesn't look as thick there as everywhere else. That doesn't mean its bad but based on how all my other teeth look post surgery, the root bone should be covered, as shown in this video

@@dafyddthomas7299 Hi Dafydd! Thanks for your very observant input! In the USA I can't imagine what it would cost, or anywhere in the world for that matter. It would save people and they'd keep their original teeth and not need to have them all get crowns and/or root canals, or pulled and end up with dentures or no teeth. I am grateful for any health care, but our system is in decline too. It's very rare those with government health care get root canals, only in the front teeth where any other non-visible teeth the only option for the 98% is to pay a big price or have them pulled. I was very lucky and my dentist very surprised that I was covered for a crown, very rare, and it was a molar or non-visible tooth.
Most of the more severe illnesses happen to people by an upsetting event happening in their lives that takes them by surprise, unexpectedly, impacting first in the brain, then in the corresponding organ which that part of the brain controls. The end of WWI had absolutely everything to do with the Flu and lung TB outbreak that occurred killing millions. In nature, the biological conflict linked with a territorial fear (just what it means-a fear in your territory, your home, your community, etc.) is a widening of the bronchia (tissue loss). Your body attempts to widen your bronchia in order to allow more air into your lungs to give you more strength and energy to fight to keep your territory safe. Stay with me.......The biological conflict linked with a death fright impacts the lungs. The lungs attempt to grow larger in order to allow more air in because breath equals life, as we all know. No breath equals death. Why are so many people across the world suddenly having their appendix removed? The appendix is associated with “being in fear for one’s life”. The HEALING phase is the rupture/inflammation.
While you are in the fear or death fright conflict, you notice no symptoms of “disease”, except you have cold hands, cold feet, you can’t sleep, you awaken at 3 AM every night, you have little appetite. During the war, millions of people were in fear of the bombing of their homes and cities where the war was most active. Fearing for their lives, their loved ones in the war, their ability to survive. The food in the stores was sparse due to shortages. This lasted for 4 long years! The longer the conflict, the worse the healing phase. Within 2 weeks of the German Chancellor announcing the end of WWI, these millions of people ALL went into the healing phase all at the same time. It is during the healing phase that you experience symptoms of illness! What is the healing phase of the bronchia widening? Severe bronchitis, pneumonia. The body attempts to refill this lost tissue and you experience inflammation, fever, coughing, body aches, fatigue, etc. What is the healing phase of the extra lung tissue that grew? Decomposing of the tissue by TB bacteria and fungi. The symptoms of this healing phase are: severe coughing up of blood and tissue, fever, inflammation, severe mucous, body aches, fatigue. During this decomposing of the extra tissue (tumor), the body expels a lot of protein, and without replenishment, severe protein loss can result in death. Antibiotics did not exist yet. If TB bacteria does not exist in a person or they have been vaccinated against TB (big mistake), then the tumor will simply encapsulate and become dormant and not harm you. Who died during the Spanish Flu? Mainly the poor who could not afford to buy meat and proper nourishment, and the people who were directly impacted by the bombings and destruction of their homes.
Millions of people suffered fear and death frights during the fighting of WWI, and millions of people all went into healing at the end of it. Not everyone was affected because not everyone suffered the same way.
It’s not a “flu”, it’s not something you “catch”. It’s biological, meaningful, and unavoidable. One hundred years later, a Fear Campaign begins, using the media to spread it......
How I wish I’d known about this. I fell down concrete steps landed on my face, aged 15, ended up damaging top front teeth. Dentist filed them and gave me crowns. Fast forward 6 years, eating chocolate one day a crown broke off complete with my tooth underneath. I was then given a False tooth on a palate. I kept getting a lot of pain so was referred back to dentist. They took X-rays and said ‘Oh dear, you still have nerves and no root fillings’ hence the pain. So, they had to open gum up (above my top teeth) to rectify this. Years later I still had many problems with my false tooth moving around, infections and pain etc, so dentist decided after my 2nd child to do a ‘bridge’ as treatment was free after baby on nhs. I hate my smile! Because of the gum surgery I have gum shrinkage so my bridge has never looked right, the gum doesn’t meet the top left tooth so it’s obvious it’s false! I’ve spent 25 years hating my smile and my teeth, all because of dentists incompetence all those years ago. My greatest wish would be to have a nice smile 😊
@@AlcoveShadow sorry to hear that. Yeah I have the black line too where my bridge joins gum. I think it’s due to gum receding but not sure why it’s black tbh 🥴
I have a receded gum on one of my bottom front teeth, it happened years ago. From what I can remember I got something stuck between the gum and the tooth and the gum basically tore, this happened overnight and the gum never properly grew back. I'm a 54 year old male. My teeth and gums are in better condition than most people my age. I do not drink sodas and have eliminated sugar from my nutrition wherever possible. Eliminating sugar was difficult but because I want to maintain Ketogenic nutritional habits (not simply a short term diet), I went through a roughly 2 year process of eliminating any desire to eat sugary foods. This leads to my dental hygiene care concern. Admittedly, there was a roughly 2 year period when my dental hygiene was barely adequate. I brushed my teeth once a day and flossed maybe twice a week. Also after moving to another city, I neglected to find another dental clinic for routine checkups/cleaning. I finally did seek out my current dentist when I suddenly had tooth pain requiring a root canal. Since that time, I have routinely gone to the same dental office. At this point, my visits are routine checkups and cleanings. My concern is with the cleanings. The dental hygienist begins by measuring the thickness of my gums. The manner in which the measurement is taken, seems painful. Unnecessarily painful. I feel as though excessive pressure is placed on the gums. This is concerning because now that I watched your video, you confirmed my suspicion that excessive pressure should not be placed on the gums due to risk of separation from the teeth. My concern is that so much pressure is placed on the gums that it contributes to receding gums. I suspect this because when the measurement is taken, I feel pain in areas where I previously did not have pain. Due to my age and less than adequate (but not horrible) dental hygiene habits for 2 years, I understand that some gum recession is to be expected. However, my intuition is that gum recession is happening at an accelerated rate due to the manner in which my gum depth is measured and the aggressiveness of pressure on the gums during cleanings. Since my root canal and initial cleaning at the current clinic, I have done a far better job of maintaining dental hygiene. This includes brushing my teeth daily (this has always been the case), using dental floss roughly 6 times a week (I will strive for 7 days a week) on average and using antiseptic mouth wash. I do not have any bleeding from my gums. I do not believe they are infected. I do not feel any burning in my gums while rinsing with antiseptic mouthwash. I only experience pain during dental hygienist cleanings. If I suspect the hygienist is excessively rough, how can I politely address this without insulting the person? I respect that he's the expert and experts do not like to be told how to do their job by a person who does not know their job. However, a patient also knows their own body. I feel gum separation is happening during my dental cleanings. I realize the easy answer could be that I should seek out a different dental clinic. However, my current dentist is possibly the best I have ever had and for this reason I would like to remain at the same clinic. Can you please give me your perspective on this situation and any advice? I speculate others might have similar experiences. Sincerely, thank you for taking time to reply.
I would just express my pain feeling and ask to be more gentle on the gum due to extreme pain, It should not be seen as telling them how they do their job.
You have every right as a patient to bring up discomfort and pain. As long you bring it up politely and tell them of your concerns any decent professional should take that in to consideration.
I have the same concern about a new hygienist at the dental clinic I go to. Her prodding caused pain, and what seemed increased gum recession following her treatment.
Good oral health begins with getting all the necessary nutrients in your body. I can attest to receding gums to a vegetarian/vegan diet and gum growth to a heavy meat and animal fat diet. Give your body what it needs to be in optimal health. Dr Weston Price is a great start towards better oral health.
@@kristinaR It depends on why you're vegetarian. If it's for health, I recommend you read Dr Weston Prices book 'Nutrition and Physical Degeneration' where it studies the links between diet and health and maybe reconsider. If its for Religious reasons, you could just make sure to get the highest quality, highest fat content in all the milk, cheese and eggs you do eat as you will be solely relying on them. Definitely recommend reading that book, it literally changes the way you view food. It changed my health for the better!
this is true! i healed a cavity by taking green pastures fermented cod liver oil with ghee. swear by weston price and sally fallon's nourishing traditions
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and I also had to visit a dentist 3 monthly as I experienced rapid calculus buildup. Just as we were locked down I read I should be taking vitamin K2 with my vitamin D3. That was 14 months or more ago and I haven't visited a dentist yet. However my calculus has not only gone but my gums have healed and look if they have begun to grow back. Anecdotal I know, but K2 apparently scavenges calcium from places it shouldn't be. Not a quick fix but I'm so happy. Worth some research.
What they DON'T TELL YOU is that gum grafts usually last a MAXIMUM of FIVE YEARS... I know, I had one- and was told after the fact, when I began to notice it reoccurring....
Yikes! That's major! I have gum recession , am 49, and have started massaging the gums twice a day (re Dr Ellie Phillips) with my toothbrush, and using Listerine and Act rinses. I noticed at the beginning my gums were weak and made sore by the brushing, but after 3 days already were healthier. I'm hoping the stimulation, and maintenance of gum health will encourage them to grow back. I'm right handed so will also try to brush less hard on my left side. I had fillings done to cover sensitive exposed roots, but two of them were not done right, and air, soup and ice cream are still a problem on those two...
No More Cavities by Brian Cusp A guide to better dental care and oral health and a nicer smile. Julia Roberts attributes her bright smile and gleaming teeth to brushing with baking soda. She says as a young girl she watched her grandfather brushing his teeth with sodium bicarbonate, Baking Soda, putting a heaping glob on his toothbrush and scrubbing all around his teeth. He had only one cavity in his lifetime and advised her to use it. The American Dental Association now recommends starting babies on Fluoride Toothpaste with their first tooth. The goal of this book was to have No More Cavities. With all the foods we eat and the complex chemistries going on in the mouth with the varying pH’s, completely eradicating cavities is an impossibility for most of the population.
Jan 2020, I thought I was going to lose my lower front teeth, my gum had receded so much. It was so painful. My teeth bled when I ate certain hard food, when I brushed, etc etc. I tried a few OTC products, "Natural Dentist ", Listerine Gum Therapy mouth wash", Baking Soda, rinsed with salt....Nothing worked. It even bled and hurt more. So, I went to a Dentist, I hadn't been to one in almost 3 years. She performed "deep cleaning" Very painful procedure......Magic! Pain went away, gum (partially) grew back. Love the result.
Very informative video. I have bad gum recession despite flossing, brusing with an electric toothbrush and swishing with listerine like the dentists said. I am always getting lectured by the dentist on how I am not caring for my teeth and gums when in fact I am. I spent hundreds of dollars on electric toothbrushes and special powders and creams to help but discovered that I am a mouth breather due to having suffered from a broken jaw when I was younger then I wasn't able to get repaired until I was in my 30's. Unfortunately by then my gums started recessing. I ended up losing most of my bottom teeth so I have been trying to figure out what to do to save the rest of the teeth and help my gums.
Yes, my dentist said I would lose my tooth if I didn't get gum graft surgery. I didn't get the surgery and my gums are almost completely back to normal there. Here is what I did: 1. I got a good electric toothbrush and made sure when brushing I wasn't adding extra pressure or motion on the teeth but did move the tootbrush over the receded area to keep it clean. 2. I got rid off all conventional toothpastes and bought Nelsons Naturals toothpaste which also helped me rebuild some of my enamel . I got the one with fennel as I find it works the best. It's filled with minerals and I think it was a huge cause of my gums healing. I avoided sugar as much as possible unless it was from fruit and drank primarily only water.
I had really beautiful gums and it was so packed like a hair can’t pass through my teeth. At age 35 I went to a dentist as there was a cavity in the molar and dentist fixed it. And gave me the offer of free dental cleanings. She started calling for free cleaning more frequently and she digged all my teeth and made receding gums and tried to make me understand that she needs to make space in between the teeth’s so that she can better clean it. The dentist was a Chinese with a Pakistani assistant. She instructed the assistant only talk in English seems she didn’t trusted her. I went through terrible itchy painful gums at the last day she applied something in my gums that I couldn’t tolerate as she wanted me to hold for long. Many times in cleaning I felt there is heavy bleeding that they are trying to hide. All the time they kept me distracted by talking about my kids and family and very entertaining as the part of strategy. It took me really long to get functional teeth. I was not able to brush . We were in India and had perfect teeth never needed to go to a dentist. Grew up doing neem sticks in childhood. She got a chance by mistake and she destroyed my 6 years old daughter’s picture perfect teeth. They don’t even feel bad that this kid have to live there whole life with a de shaped teeth at front and she twisted it so the front two teeth are overlapping on others . And before she has really beautiful teeth like anyone can imagine. Now when we click she doesn’t smiles she just spreads a smile . Looking at the teeth’s I can see how much different it makes. The dentist carved out so much of my teeth now when I eat the food hides vertically in between every teeth of a grain size. I have to be careful what I am eating. Good that here people have posted some remedies. I just don’t want to end up on root canals whole life if I can manage. So be really careful about your dentist. Seems more because of a western culture here we were like a dentist is must. In my experience either you care for teeth’s in advance or later story will be same.
Quick story Another dog bit my dog in the mouth. The gum of my dog was HANGING OUTSIDE HIS MOUTH! I went to a vet clinic and wanted the doctor to operate. She refused and said it would heal without doing anything. I was so mad because I didn't believe her. But she was right. Aaaallll the gum which was like one inch/ 4cm hanging outside was pulling back... around the teeth👀 I'm serious! So EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE! 👌🏻 IF I HADN'T SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES I WOULDN'T HAVE BELIEVED IT! ♥️ DON'T DESPAIR. YOU CAN FIX THIS♥️👌🏻
One thing that was not mentioned and i think is at the bottom of most gum issues is a lack of vitamin C. Just try eating a bellpepper daily for a week and see if it makes a difference. The synthetic form never worked for me but real food vitamin C makes my gums light pink and healthy you can notice the difference very quickly. And oil pulling is another one that’s cheap and works great for healthy strong gums
Using a soft toothbrush effectively is the way to go. Regular visits to see a Dental Hygienists is being well smart. Dental Hygienists clean teeth brilliantly and are worth every penny. You'll look ten years younger or more. Don't take my word for this, look it up. (UK)
That's what I was wondering when he said over doing brushing. I have a Phillips Sonicare toothbrush and wow is it harsh on my teeth!!! My gums don't bleed or hurt or anything but now I'm scared to use it because I don't want to be too rough on my gums 😧
My dentist pulled an upper molar and caused a sinus perforation. He does bone grafts when pulling adult teeth, but he failed to put in collagen plug and suture the entire wound and left the back part totally open with a huge hole and air passing through. I had him re-examine it days later after doing research and he showed zero concern at all. It is day 7 so I decided I have to close this hole or it will become permanent. I filled it with powder college mixed with an antibiotic ointment and tried to place a waterproof bandaid over it. Of course the adhesive on the bandaid is just not suited for that much saliva so I am now biting on gauze to keep it in place and keep air from going through. I guess I can't eat or sleep for three days now if I want to make sure this is not disturbed. 😳😭 Why did this dentist for this?! Am too afraid to return for fear he will make it worse! 🤦
Wow, this was an incredibly fascinating video. If I wasn't recovering from a wisdom tooth extraction I'd surely have got the popcorn out. Brilliant, you're a fantastic communicator. Great oral surgeons and dentists are worth every penny.🦷😊🏆
Thank you for such a great explanation of a very complicated topic. I just had gum tissue grafting done recently but your info gave me knowledge to help improve my condition in the future that my periodontist did not provide.
I'm glad to hear that :) I would consult your periodontist as well, as they will be able to provide you with more individualised advice. Mine is very generic
Thank you, my dentist I’ve been seen for a few years never told me I had this problem. I saw another dentist and he told me without charging me, that was 6 months ago It kinda hurts now. Thanks doc I wouldn’t know what happens next
I got rid of my gum disease completely by eating a 90-95 percent meat diet...eggs, bacon, steak, some sausages is basically all I eat. My bleeding gums completely healed in a year or so. They are perfectly pink and healthy, no disease whatsoever and I'm 57 years old.
I have gum recession on my bottom teeth. This video was informative but it looks like NIGHTMARE to heal from, especially if you work full time! Even with a week off or 2 weeks, it wouldn’t be enough time to heal.
I had gum graft many years ago, I recall that it heals rapidly. I barely feel it after the first night of sleep. I guess it depends on your overall health condition.
I have had grafting surgeries before and it is a bitch to heal. I was in school at the time and had to schedule the surgeries to be during breaks because your face is swollen for about a week and its very painful. After a week its ok though, you can walk around outside but you'll have stitches in for a while. Its not too bad after a week
@Pleoryo I had grafting on probably 10 teeth total in my early 20s. I'm 30 now and they still look really good. I recently visited the perio that I used to see in college who did my surgeries and he said its holding up well. Theres a couple spots where you can see the grafting dipping ever so slightly but its nothing to be worried about if the gum is still thick and healthy looking. If you get the right person it will be fine. Also my surgeon takes gum from inside the roof of the mouth as opposed to outside like this video. I think this is better because it matches better. I can only see where the grafting line is if I look real close in a magnifying mirror
I have receding gums but also healthy teeth and gums. So, I don't buy the argument that brushing alone causes recession. I think brushing can possibly contribute to a genetic predisposition but never cause gum recession. Why? Because the gum is naturally designed to be touched by food debris all the time. Besides, using that logic, I can similarly conclude that receding hairline is caused by brushing hair too hard. But boldness is not caused by aggressive hair brushing. It could be provoked or worsened, perhaps, by aggressive hair brushing but NOT caused! If brushing and harsh touching in themselves are the cause of body tissue recession, then filing nails should cause receding nail beds, removing cuticles should cause receding skin on fingers, and harshly brushing tongue, just like brushing gums, should also cause our tongues to recede, as well as brushing harshly our hair should cause our skull skin&hair (if not the skull bone itself) to recede. But those things don't happen automatically in everyone, yet almost everyone brushes teeth, hair, and other body parts ... Personally, I brush my tongue excessively and harshly all my life. It is made of even softer tissue than gums. Yet it didn't even recede a millionth part of millimeter! After all, where are scientific lab experiments and actual scientific research that unquestionably proved the theory that harsh brushing alone causes gum recession in people with healthy gums and teeth???? I wish medical scientists and biologists did more research on mineral density of gums and teeth and inner states of body tissues before making claims such as brushing being the cause of mysterious tissue disappearance in a healthy mouth and healthy teeth. And noone dares to wonder that nutrition or rather malnutrition has anything to do with it? It's no different than saying obesity is caused by aggressive calories. But noone bothers to wonder what causes a human body to over-consume calories in the first place, and so, people see stomach surgery as the only solution to extreme obesity rather than changing something else. Analogous to this, people see gum graft surgery as the only solution to extreme gum recession rather than changing something else. But I don't even hope for that as it is so expensive that I could never afford gum graft surgery, not even if I went homeless and kept my job😖......yet I want to live long and healthy and my gums are receding. I try to brush as mildly as possible with the softest brush, yet my gums keep receding and there is no affordable way to help me😔😔😔 I'm just thankful to God and life that at least there is no pain. I hope to die one day in peace and with no pain....🤞🙏
One has to take into account the manner in which contact takes place. Food is soft and mixed with saliva, and it touching the gums will probably not irritate them. The stiff hairs of a toothbrush being vigorously pressed against the gums may be detrimental to them.
I want veneers so badly!! I’ve always had nice healthy teeth. I always took good care of them. I went to the dentist all my life every 6 months. Now my gums are receding. My dentist Basically put a white filling over the recession. Now without insurance and no way to pay for dental. I’m afraid my teeth will go down hill. I’ve already lost 2 my molars on my right bottom side. I can’t even eat on my right side anymore. I’m so sad. I don’t know what to do. I also live in a very small Ohio town. I can’t find a good oral surgeon or periodontist unless I drive several hours. I would but I can’t afford that either! I’m just screwed! This video is helpful and informative. I hate getting old boooooo!
Veneers can be horrible. I read many comments from people with veneers who lose them every few months, they just chip off. Those people, including my colleague who has the same problem, are devastated
@@ariettyschmidt2129 Everyone is getting veneers these days, never heard of problems tho. Hate the idea of natural teeth getting ground down, plus veneers kind of look like veneers and don't like that. In some case one does need them perhaps.
In America, health insurance and dental insurance are two separate things, why I do not know, because it's all a part of good health. Good information, thanks.
I can't even get registered to see a damn dentist. It's like some type of horror movie out here. America, may have their issues, but this sh** is ridiculous, even before the pandemic.
??? There are Dentists everywhere.... so if you don't have insurance, and there is a Dental College in the City you live in, go there... I live in Houston...they have a Dental College here... call the school near where you live and find out how to be able to get help.
Do you have an HMO or PpO? I bit the bullet and switched to PPO because I wasn’t even using the HMO . Hell, I couldnt ever find a good doctor to begin with . Anyways, I saw a periodontist today and already scheduled to see an oral surgeon to remove (or try ) my wisdom teeth. My wisdom teeth are wrapped around my nerve because I waited too long 😏 Anyways, insurance makes such a difference.

Great information Dr. Mine is very slight (recession) not like the photos seen on line, but was told to use power toothbrush with no pressure, so I watch to not put pressure when brushing now. :))
I read somewhere that eating cheddar cheese helps the gums. I love the white sharp cheddar put out by Cabot. Being a former Vermonter, I'm not doing the ad but I believe it helps

Got my appointment for my peri on Monday, this helped my expectations and knowledge I didn’t have before, now I’m less nervous and looking forward to the dentist 👍🏼 I have lupus and scleroderma so I know it’s gonna be a special case and absolutely prepared to be told bad news 😅 32 years old and I only have 11 of my own teeth left! 😩 Autoimmune diseases suuuuuck!
Sorry to hear that! I have an autoimmune disease too (Sjögren’s syndrome) and my mouth is always dry I’d also lost teeth and that make me feel insecure 😢
There is a minimally invasive treatment called Pinhole which was developed and patented by John Chao, D.D.S. It has been featured in the International Journal of Periodontics, one of the most prestigious dentistry journals in the world.
I am 53 this year and have pretty much had nice teeth. I bit down on a clam and a piece of shell broke my tooth. While I went in to have it fixed, they set me on a plan for deep cleanings. I couldn't really feel anything from the numbing but I could taste lots of blood which she said was normal. Within the next several months, I started having severe tooth pain like nothing I'd experienced before. My teeth were nice and white, thick gums with only two cavities from years back. Now in just under a year, I've had one root canal, two crowns and they are saying I need an implant because my front k-9 root is dead...what? I never had any pain, and the tooth looks just fine. I stopped going because I have not had any issues until after my first visit and I think they are scamming me, or she damage my teeth with the two cleanings that I had. I don't know what to do as I now have a tooth broke in half. It'ss such an odd experience and I will go to another Dentist, but I have no trust now.
Avoid corporate dentistry where they hire a bunch of dentists from different clinics and pay them a percentage per tooth or per procedure, These dentists are looking for profit not your best interest, Some will try to work on a 100% healthy teeth just to make money, Go to dentists who own their office and they have a track record of honesty even if it costs you a little bit more. My wife went to Western Dental and they suggested to extract every tooth from her upper jaw and install a full bridge with implants for the entire jaw, 80% of them there is nothing wrong with them, Luckily I caught that early on and switched to a different dentist who own his business.
@@Capturing-Memories You and your wife should look up Dr. Bruhn and his recommendation to brush your teeth with xylitol. You'll probably never have another cavity for the rest of your life. That's how effective it is. Your dentist will not tell you any of this because it would kill his profit margin. God's blessings and good health to you, my friend.
I am beginning to question these cleanings. I know that pain that you speak of. So far I lost two molars from gum recession and bone loss. I have been going to the dentist now more than ever before. I clean my teeth multiple times a day. Instead of good news, I am constantly reminded of the down spiral in my mouth. It’s discouraging. I am now trying a water flosser, use baking soda when I brush, rinse with hydrogen peroxide occasionally, oil pull with coconut oil, rinse with xylitol and TheraBreath oral rinse, and even salt water. I have a deep pocket, it seems, on one of my teeth. I suspect if I don’t get a graft soon, I will loose this tooth! I am frustrated and tired.
I mistreated my gums myself. Instead of going with a dentist to clean the plaque build up I used a sharp tool and ruined my gums from the bottom front teeth I hope your tips might help for my case.
I didn’t know it was possible for your gum to grow back wow amazing
You have your own infrared gadget or its a a dentist?
I don’t know if this is true, but what infrared light gadget are you referring to here?

True true!
That's great advice, thank you! So you would always do this treatment with coconut oil before brushing? Can one maybe do it afterwards too or always before brushing your teeth?
thanks for telling your experience
@@ginafromcologne9281 Always before brushing. I do it just after I wake up, keep it in my mouth while I get dressed and make my bed, then spit it out in a paper towel.

Hi can u advise how u did it
What gel did you use

How can teeth be ignorant? They don't think for themselves
Sugar is definitely the devil in disguise! (Guilty)
Excellent advice.
Nope, it's all genetics 99%. Your teeth are exactly as of your parent in 99% of cases. And your eyesight. And hair density. Everything.

Look at it as regaining responsibility for self...As a bodybuilder, it forces you to know nutrition. It's amazing how many people don't know nutrition. I'm not a doctor at it but I know enough to tell people that we have to know ourselves in order to make the right choices for ourselves...It was when a trainer had me eating salads and I was115 lbs and 5 feet tall...two days of that and I knew I needed to research what was best for me. Too often we rely on others. My excuse is dentist trauma from childhood...I put off my teeth. Now I am researching what I need to do as I am facing some dental issues. I want to know enough to ask the right questions...My teeth aren't that bad, but it's all relative right. LOL happy smilez!

Wonderful to listen to a health professional that sounds as authentically compassionate as he is competent, thanks Dr Gurs.
Teeth and gum health comes from giving up refined carbs sugar and flour. My teeth and gums have improved dramatically since i did this. Also use plastic toothpicks after every meal, and brush less frequently, with a natural paste like salt and bicarb.
Do not brush with harsh products like baking on a regular basis. Once every 4 months might be too much. Harsh products destroys enamel.
H-pylori causes gum disease. TheyLOVE all you just mentioned. Get tested. The breath test or a biopsy (endoscopy) is the most accurate, but you can also have your stool tested.
Use coconut oil, bentonite clay, xylitol and peppermint oil mixed together.
@mad woof You have no idea what you are talking about and delusional.
They don't destroy your teeth, not using an alkaline mouthwash before brushing is destroying them
According to your video, my gum recession is treatable. This was so interesting. Thank you! ;)

My brushing procedure with oil and with toothpaste is as follows (I use a brushing procedure that I learned while watching a video on a biologic/holistic Dentist/DDS website):
(1) I brush the front of my upper teeth starting from above my teeth on my gums and proceed down from my gums to brush each tooth.
You swish it for 30 minutes to an hour?? Also what brand of aloe vera do you get?
?
Seriously... You better filming the difference and share, because some result maybe due to your lifestyle such as meal you take daily and health condition. Anyway thanks for the sharing.
Increasing calcium intake can also increase teeth and bone density so they wont break down or wear out as quick but before you increase your calcium intake make sure you have the right amount of blood cells to store and use up the minerals to rebuild your self, your blood cell count is very important for good overall health internally and externally
Is there any good brand of calcium u recommend me?cause food has only a little
Milk is the best source, other than that curd. Why to go for artificial things.
Kale, any dark leafy green has a lot of calcium. Careful not to over supplement it will also cause osteoporosis. And vitamin c is important for good gum tissue health.
Also foods that contain Omega 3.
Most people have enough calcium stored in their body .
If you’re gonna take calcium you need vitamin k 2, to transport the calcium out of your veins and into the right places or else
You will harden your arteries .
Sports nutrition has a decent k2 supplement .
I went to a whole food plant based diet and drank green drinks daily and my gums grew back pink and plump within 6 months… it was a surprise side benefit of healing from the inside out❤️. (My gums had been receded for over 15 years from an electric toothbrush that was too harsh )

Isn't this video about gum recession, when you said "grew back" I assume you mean they stopped receding. As receding gums cannot grow back, just like a receded hair line.
Hahaha well, that’s what I thought too but I am telling you I have plump pink gums like my children do now and they actually grew back down to the teeth and all of the exposed roots are now covered in a bright pink, plump blanket… and tight! My gums are so bright and fit so tightly to the tooth. It’s absolutely amazing! Parsley
Turmeric
Cilantro
Cucumber
Celery
Pepper (when feeling brave I add chunk of Serrano but habanero or jalapeño are great too... I don’t add pepper on the daily)
(I also throw in Sprouts and wheatgrass juice powder )
How:
-I use 1/4 lemon w/ peel
-I keep my ginger chunked in 1-2” pieces in freezer in baggie to grab out ... no need to peel.
-I use a good handful of all greens I
-I Use 1 -3 stalks of celery
-I use a 2-3” piece of cucumber
I take turmeric supplement so I leave out (tsp prob good amount)
Throw it all in a good blender (Vita mix really good investment)w/ 2-4C of water if (and some ice if you like)

Thank you for explaining everything so eloquently

I read a study that if gums are injected with pure hylauronic acid, the gum grows back. A tissue graft seems antiquated and quite invasive
You're talking of collagen injection in the gums being used in South Korea right now. And looks like it works better than gum grafting.
My gums have receded, dominant side brushing likely, same as the lady in the video. This was a very helpful first step in understanding, thank you.
i would see this dude. what doctor bothers to be this clear about what they do? rare.

Having this problem has been frustrating because I had no recommendations on what to do. Now, I have hope. Big grateful hug going your way! 💙
Same. Did as I was told and now look. Really passes me off.
Do you get your vitamin D3 levels checked once a year? Many of us older people have vitamin D3 deficiency which can cause bone loss in your face and gum area. It is very important to keep your D3 levels high as D3 is needed for many functions in your body. It must be taken with K2..not calcium.
Thank you. You sound very knowledgeable and compassionate with your advice.

@@dafyddthomas7299 You are correct. This treatment cost not hundreds but thousands of dollars. Yeah, only the rich can afford this.
I have the same issue with my gums and i think i need to take it serious before it is too late. thanks for such information.
Such a beautifully groomed man.
Absolutely
fm,l I'm vegetarian. What do u think I should supplement with?
@@kristinaR It depends on why you're vegetarian. If it's for health, I recommend you read Dr Weston Prices book 'Nutrition and Physical Degeneration' where it studies the links between diet and health and maybe reconsider. If its for Religious reasons, you could just make sure to get the highest quality, highest fat content in all the milk, cheese and eggs you do eat as you will be solely relying on them. Definitely recommend reading that book, it literally changes the way you view food. It changed my health for the better!

Was hoping this was going to tell me ways to rebuild gums WITHOUT SURGERY‼️
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and I also had to visit a dentist 3 monthly as I experienced rapid calculus buildup. Just as we were locked down I read I should be taking vitamin K2 with my vitamin D3.
That was 14 months or more ago and I haven't visited a dentist yet. However my calculus has not only gone but my gums have healed and look if they have begun to grow back.
Anecdotal I know, but K2 apparently scavenges calcium from places it shouldn't be. Not a quick fix but I'm so happy. Worth some research.
Thank you for writing this information!!! I will tray it. Greeting from the Netherlands
Thanks a lot for the information you shared with us..🙂
HI Rod. How long did you take K2? Are you still taking it?
@@vericatsenova2630 yes I still take K2. For nearly 3 years I think.
Thanks!
What they DON'T TELL YOU is that gum grafts usually last a MAXIMUM of FIVE YEARS... I know, I had one- and was told after the fact, when I began to notice it reoccurring....
Thanks
Oh geeze i thought they lasted at least 20 years or more..damn
Thank you Dr., this is very helpful for those of us in general dentistry, now I can give better answers to our patients.🙏🙏
No More Cavities by Brian Cusp
A guide to better dental care and oral health and a nicer smile.
Fantastically explained.
I need this treatment, my gums have and contine receding.
I wish I could talk to you about some teeth things, you are so reassuring and have such a good way of explaining things!
Dr Hishams tooth serum and rinse has made so much of a difference personally
So the mouth breathing has caused it?
@@niellalien That's what the dentist and periodontist both told me.

Same here in Australia _ rogues

That's what I was wondering when he said over doing brushing. I have a Phillips Sonicare toothbrush and wow is it harsh on my teeth!!! My gums don't bleed or hurt or anything but now I'm scared to use it because I don't want to be too rough on my gums 😧
@@amandawhite4143 ...I had the exact same thoughts as yourself. Be gentle with yourself, Amanda.
Why did this dentist for this?! Am too afraid to return for fear he will make it worse! 🤦
@UCLWSAS2QkvAnn3tQ6XTBY_g Hmm. I think it closed on its own now, thankfully. 😁

I have gum recession on my bottom teeth.
This video was informative but it looks like NIGHTMARE to heal from, especially if you work full time! Even with a week off or 2 weeks, it wouldn’t be enough time to heal.
Woof!....absolutely agree! My mouth hurts just texting about it!!
Nothing is impossible You just lazy
I’ve done grafting. #26-23. Worth every penny and i have other areas to do was well. Not the most fun but worth it

You'll need an overlay or a crown to fix the broken tooth. Seek a second opinion about the pain you experienced.
