this mall is unique because its not filled with retail chains like other malls. The majority are private owned individual business, and family owned shops.
Jimmy and ichang, i wonder if you guys are interested to do a content about cooking Japanese food using Malaysia's ingredients. I really love Japanese food but there's no authentic Japanese restaurant where i lived. So i think a lot of people will love this kind of content because there are many Japanese food's fans in Malaysia.
OMG, this episode is sooooooooo GoooOOOD!!!!! Amcorp was my childhood mall~~ I used to go to this Victoria Music Station to buy special edition cassettes & CDs of Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki, Namie Amuro & otherss!! And there are superb bookstores selling outdated magazines at very good price~~ Super good for inspiration!!! Btw, the banana ball is my fave too, it’s called cekodok ~ some stalls make it smaller, some more banana, some less, it all depends :-) and OH MY GOSH, that’s A&W is my childhood playground tooooo… my brother & I used to go to swimming lessons at the Syabas swim club just a few doors down… oh yeaaa, next to Syabas, there’s a food court, the NASI KANDAR is BOMB!!!!!!! U must go try next round… then further down it’s PJ State & Old Town… there are more good food thereeeee
Ive never been to Amcorp Mall for many years now and almost forgot its existance. Maybe its because I seldom travel through PJ nowadays. Jimmy's vlog makes me want to visit the mall again, and of course the good old A&W. Nostalgic. Thanks Jimmy.
The banana fritter is called cekodok or cucur pisang, sort of like banana muffin/bread. That A&W is the one we used to go when we were little. It is amazing that it still exist 😂
Great video, Jimmy. So nostalgic for me. My dad is Malaysian and seeing the Amcorp Mall reminded me of holidays back to Malaysia in the early 90s 😊 Before my dad left Malaysia he had a job very briefly at A&W. He got fired for throwing a potato at his boss!
80s 90s best of Malaysia. Best football team, best badminton team, best PM (then), State cinema, REX cinema, Sudirman, Shiela Majid, Alleycats, Hilton Corner, Picadilly, DV8, Branniggan, Boom Boom Room, Victoria Music, tea dance and many more that others can add on...
20:50 I practically grew up together with this A&W in the 80's! This A&W has always been my family's go-to outlet when I was a small kid for having something nice once in a while. And their waffles were to die for! Glad to see this still available even after all these years... Next time I'm back home I'm gonna make this one of the places that I must visit!
Tq Jimmy for this vlog. I hope Amcorp Mall will retain its unique character. Am happily surprised to see that the A&W is still there. It was supposed to be torn down many years ago.
There are a lot of antiques fair in every district around Malaysia. They called "Pasar Karat", like Ipoh, Penang, and even KL. Normally they operated early in the morning. Well done, Jimmy, and thank you for your "Solo Jimmy's Video."
why am i smiling everytime jimmy smile when the sedapness of the food hit him 😆 i hope iChang feels happy with the book that you bought for her and maybe try some of the classic malaysian recepies 😄
Jimmy's visit to A&W PJ really brought back fond memories of my late father who would bring us here in the late 1980s. Very good to see iChang loved the books that Jimmy bought from Amcorp Mall. Very sweet couple:)
I missed those old Malaysian magazines about food recipes and house/ landscape designs. It was really well done. We know there is passion and hardwork that was put into those stuffs
Sunday is usually the peak day for this flea market. I like to go here but not for the antiques. There are few bookstores where you could get plenty of good books. And of course some of the stalls have good books too.
I used to come to amcorp mall for art. Last time around early 2000, there was a lot of art classes here. I came here to learn glass painting, ceramic painting. Also, there was several shops that teach you crochet and needle work stuff... I miss amcorp mall so much .. ❤
This mall was my childhood. There used to be a cinema, arcade, cybercafe and McDonalds at the top floor but sadly all closed down. I still pass by this mall almost everyday these days, but have not actually gone inside for years.
Wahh..thanks jimmy... bring us jalan-jalan to the 80s.... really touching...can see the good old items, which once i really missed it.... and also, the one n only A&W ice cream root beer😅.... its magic !!
Love the 80s editing ❤ btw you should insert our Malaysian old song like 'dia' or 'sinaran', these songs from our jazz queen Sheila Majid really gave 80s 90s vibes 👍 reminiscing the good old times 😊
Mmg lyn artis2 city pop jepun dlm era 80's mcm Mariya Takeuchi,Tatsuro Yamashita,Anri,Meiko Nakahara,Eri Kojima,Junko Ohashi & etc2.Lagu2 diorg mmg evergreen.
wah jimmy.... you enjoyly freedom eat a lot when ichang not with you.... you also got your fav. dishes.... doughnut and burger.... i love the coney douq.... 👍🏼🤓👍🏼
Good job with new solo style with a bit of historical side Jimmy! Next iChang solo vlog also like before both of you together or a mix of all! What ever you both feels like doing! will always support as long as you both feels happy doing your vlogs! Gambatte ne!
From 10:19-10:25 I saw an ash tray which is written ‘Gold leaf’ on it. My late father used to have it. And seeing it somehow reminded me of him. A nostalgic rush sweeping me up in a split moment. Thanks Jimmy for the tour in the Antique shop.
Who is here reading all the comments after finishing the video? 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻🙋🏻♂️ It’s a refreshing style when you add on clips of giving the books to iChang. Some suggestions; perhaps ichange new content is her exploration of “new” oldies recipe book. Maybe cooking of it or vlog finding the ingredients. Then cook it, like finding a new dragon balls maybe☺️ Take care you both! Much 🫶🏻❤️💖
Thank you so much Jimmy. You reminded me this old place & the oldest a&w in malaysia. You make me want to go back this place again. Lots of memories here. Jimmy, please do more videos. Looking forward for more! Gambateh!❤❤❤❤
Betul lah, can you imagine that my house is in jalan gasing, but I have not been to the amcop mall more than 20 years ! Thank you Jimmy, you are making me going back 😊there again this Saturday ok.
AmCorp Mall is where I manage to hunt for 80s & 90s CD, such as Jacky Cheung, Leslie Cheung, Aaron Kwok, George Michael, Tommy Page, Celine Dion, Lara Fabian, Black Street Boys, 911 and many more😁
Jimmy, you can try solo night life in KL. Stroll all the way from Pavilion to Sungei Wang/Farenheit at Bukit Bintang. You can experience New York in Arab Street but you are in KL. Extremely crowded during weekends night.
Hany's stall. I missed their Nasi Kerabu. They used to open a stall in the morning near the road shoulder of Lorong Dungun Kiri at Damansara Heights. Now they have a kiosk at Abdullah Hukum LRT station during weekdays. IChang and Jimmy, thank you for sharing this clip on Amcorp Mall which is magical coz you can really find rare things.
If you like old nostalgic vibes and vintage items, you and iChang should go pay a visit to PJ Old Town in the morning on weekends. They have old school kopi tiams, foods and old style grocery shops there. Enjoy!😊
PANCAINDERA!!!! Lol, very nostalgic. It's an old tabloid inside a tabloid that usually features female celebrities. Luckily Jimmy didn't find MANGGA magazine😂😂😂😂.
Well done, Jimmy. Nice to know you have a nice time in Amcorp Mall. A&W drive-in to have another meal. Next time, try the A&W fish sandwiches. Good stuff. 👍
I miss old toys like that toy bus. Back in the 80' many of these toys are made from metal. Those which were made from plastic like those miniature army men were made with very good precision. Of course many of those toys were made in Hong Kong and its quality control are good.
At around 10:11 those are not typewriters but antique cash registers. Not sure if have cash drawers but at least can ring up sales and print receipt (I think can print receipt hahaha). At 12:49 those are cekodok pisang, also called jemput-jemput. I think it's been more than 20 years since I go that area. When they redevelop that area, they said want to dismantle the A&W. Looks like citizen protest managed to save it. The seats also look vintage like I remembered it since I last went there.
Hi Jimmy, this is excellent. We really enjoy every of your contents so much, that bring us back to the old days. Looking forward to your next video. Thanks.
Thank you for making a content like this, reintroduced us back to some of forgotten places in KL/PJ. - and indirectly provide marketing and good exposure for the sellers and businesses there.
Good job Jimmy! Love this new format and like many others you brought back.memories of our old haunt Amcorp Mall flea market. Btw can really see you enjoyed yourself in this vlogg👍
Thank you Jimmy for showing the oldest A&W, that place is full of memories for me and my children. One time, my 3rd daughter was taken by surprised by the A&W bear and she got high fever the next day.
Welcome back Jimmy finally you back, I bet iChang jealous and want to go to that 80s big shopping mall. ☺. Everytime you try nasi Kerabu always different haha. I bet it taste so nice mmm
I missed this mall so much cause it was part of my childhood. Usually during the weekends my family will bring us for a movie *movies were cheap back in those days. And there is a restaurant called Sri Melaka! It was one of our fav place to dine in ❤
Tq for bring me back some memories Jimmy..I used to work at Amcorp for 3 years...I always look for ward Fri where they hv flea market from Fri to Sun...
Maybe next, you can make a video reviewing the Japanese restaurant inside Amcorp Mall - Chiquyo Restaurant. Their decor doesn't look too convincing 😬 But then, they have been surviving for many years and supposedly serve authentic food. So I'm genuinely curious to see how a review will pan out. 😁
When Jimmy hangs out alone, he gets to have all the junk food he wants! LOL
Haha I have noticed that too, and he sure has an amazing appetite!
what happens to ichang??
BTW this is not a junk food!!
@@ginnex8757 I think she wants some rest
Haha. Bila Jimmy dgn ichang..kena Queen control skit..nak makan lebih pun xleh
22:20 Jimmy starting to develop a malaysian accent, one step closer to being a true local!
Ya when he was eating the strawberry waffle. Msia slang came out
this mall is unique because its not filled with retail chains like other malls. The majority are private owned individual business, and family owned shops.
Yea i remember they have a small zoo next to a cinema. Nostalgia hit immediately
support small businesses hell yeah

Just take the Kelana Jaya LRT and stop at Taman Jaya LRT.
The banana fritter is called cekodok or cucur pisang, sort of like banana muffin/bread. That A&W is the one we used to go when we were little. It is amazing that it still exist 😂
@ichang yeah it is called "cekodok Pisang" ...maybe Ichang and Jimmy can make video making cekodok next time...😊
Thank you Jimmy I didn't even know such 80s classic still exist today

Don't use straw to drink the Root Bear. Drink it straight from the mug. Yummy. That's the reason why the mug is chilled.
They wanted close this A&W a few years back. I'm glad they decided to listen to the public and keep it

Jimmy must be happy can eat so much (without asking Ichang permission 😂)
For me, as a retrolovers for all kinds, PERTAMA COMPLEX and SOGO KL is most nostalgic places for who are grown up in 80's and 90's.
I love how Jimmy describes food!
