Magnificent.. The Malaysian government should preserve and promote places like this more. Nowadays youngster only know to shop at high end mall. I am from Penang and honestly Penang is losing places like this ... Thank you for your videos, wish both of you a wonderful time always 😊
This video reminds me of the good ol' time in the 90's in KL... when I was studying in KL from 94 to 2000, I used to go to sogo, pertama and Campbell a lot..
I really like this video. I hope more people go to Campbell and maybe help the businesses there. Thank u for promoting it. I used to go there often but I don't live in KL anymore so...
This is a fantastic video Jimmy and IChang... I am sure younger Malaysians have not covered places as much as both of you have done... Congratulations and thank you very much. Nasi Padang Capital is almost the most authentic you can get here. The owners are third generation Sumatrans.
About Capital Restaurant, that restaurant belongs to 3 siblings. The oldest guy that looks like the Japanese comedian is the eldest brother, the lady that serve you is elder sister. The cashier guy that sits beside you is the youngest brother.
My house was at this area more than 40 years ago.. I grew up visiting Pertama and Campbell Komplejs since I was a young boy.. very sad that I don't live in Malaysia anymore. Very nostalgic viewing this video.. many thanks to both of you.. bringing back memories .
You should try the rojak and mi rebus at capital coffee shop. Looking at your video, nothing has changed for more than 40 years.. unbelievable.. thank you both again.
Sekolah Batu Road is still there 😊 Do come back & visit again sometime. KL old town area certainly still around. Petronas Twin Tower site was previously a turf club
I remember witnessing the massive fire that engulfed the entire building many years ago. At that time, I was in my school in Bukit Nanas and was having my PE (physical education) class. The fire was so ferocious and nothing could stop it!
I studied fashion in KL circa 2009-2012 and this was the place where we would find fabric and sewing stuff. We would go there early at any day of the week and visit Capitol Cafe to have breakfast or lunch. Our favourite was this one uncle selling the most delicious satay in whole of KL ( where the rojak stall is located) and i still couldn’t find any satay sellers that even compare to his satay. But his satay always sold out. Me and my friend also shops plenty of times at Campbell complex to find quality leather goods. It is indeed very nostalgic area , the original part of KL city centre.
This is along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. I used to live in the next shop which is Bo furnishing. On the other side is also a kopitiam. Campbell shopping mall was at the back of our shop. Our shop was originally called Dexion/Lifting shirt which belonged to my dad. So much memories. Can’t believe Lchang and Jimmy visited this coffee shop. I had to do a double take. Our shop number is 211. The name of this coffee shop has not changed at all. The rojak stall is still there. There was also a satay stall at night. Thanks I Chang and Jimmy.

There used to be a Night Makan Place selling Satay , Rojak , Porridge , Noodles , Rice & Dishes at further East of the Campbell Mall during the 1970s ... Missed those Delicious & Affordable Night Makan Places in Old KL of the 1970s! 😢🙏🌷🌿🌎💜🕊🇲🇾🇯🇵
Watching you guys here from Canada reminds me when I was a kid growing in Malaysia going to Campbell, Pertama Complex and Ampang park. Nice to sees those stores are still there.
Shoppers should support these old school retailers more instead on just focusing on the latest trends which are getting a little too generic these days.😅😂
AGREE, 100% AGREE, my father used to buy watches at the local uncle watch shop at Pertama Kompleks, last he went there was 20 years ago, but the tauke still remember my dad. Some like to go to this old school shop not because of the price, its because of the act of service and friendliness offered by them.
