I just prefer going to JB to eat and shop because I can buy more things. Having kids is a lot harder to travel though. I have only brought my kids to Batam via ferry. I hope to bring them to JB and Melaka where I have great memories with my husband. 😅

      @@loosookwaioh yes i was shocked when i entered Johor in 2022 after a few years....dont even mention typical places like Angsana, even some random coffee shop the prices shoot up alr. I buy roti canai ask for meat, same price as SG, in some cases they even charge for the meat. In SG, u can ask for free meat when u order roti.

    • @loosookwai
      @loosookwai Год назад +3

      @@johnwig285 Malaysia pricing especially in food is ridiculous, government didn't control the inflation at all. Hawker stalls,cafe & restaurants can simply increased their price few times in a year. Malaysians are the one struggling with the high inflation now. While in Spore,food & groceries pricing is controlled & it's affordable. There's not much of price increasing in a year.

    What I envy about Singapore so much is their hawker center, so clean and organised. Their self service system works where you place your order in any stall you want, pick up your order, sit anywhere, return the tray. It would never work in Malaysia. Malaysian authorities are too relaxed with street food vendors too, sell anywhere, set up table anywhere, no issue. I wish we're more organised and regulated!!!

    • @MuhammadOthman88
      @MuhammadOthman88 Год назад +2

      In Malaysia we do have Medan Selera which is equivalent to Hawker Center. But it never works as intended. It's not free seating as some vendors would reserve seats infront of their stalls. They even put their foods/items or setup kitchen outside their stalls. And some corner stall wound even rent out this extra space to other vendor to setup their kitchen outside, as if they own all the space...its really messed up

  • @leonkokseng
    @leonkokseng Год назад +14

    you can experience some culture shock when come to SG:
    1. in hawker center normally is self service, thats why people chope the seat, queue and wait for collecting the food.
    2. their escalator might be narrower but faster and always working😂
    3. can try their public transport, it's very convenient and on-time. Also, the taxi fare most of the time is cheaper than grab.
    4.U still can find SG toilet with bum-gum, but normally they would remove it at おしゃれ place , so that it looks clean and not messy. Also, squating toilet rarely seen in SG.
    5. Apart from english, the language commonly used in SG is mandarin chinese or hokkkien, hence cantonese might not be work all the time, or even bahasa(for non-malay)
    6. Local food still better in Malaysia.
    Btw maxwell foodcourt has alot of famous stalls, that's why it is quite competitive for the new established stall

    For Malaysian visiting Singapore don't go orchard rd.. if want to save $ . Take CW2 reach Bugis.. can walk to Haji lane.. than walk to beach road hawker center.. can eat a lot of local food and affordable price.. Proceed back to Bugis take Cw2 bus back to Johor .. This 1 day recommendation lol

      Many ppl still not realise Singapore alrdy been ranked most expensive in the world for the last 8 yrs, it’s in the “world”, among 200 countries & not just in asia.
      That also means Singapore has the highest avg salary in asia too, about 6-7 times higher than Malaysia esp after converting the currency from strong Singapore dollar Vs vy weak Malaysian currency.
      Japan now is about 20% cheaper living cost than Singapore, its avg salary also lower too.

    You guys like cakes❤
    Here in Singapore I seldom eat cakes unless my mom and dad get them free from MBS after their casino game😂
    But when I go down KL I always go to Naj & Belle, their watermelon cake and Ferraro cake is the best. You guys should try it..

    One interesting fact is the name "Don Quijote" was already in used by a restaurant in Singapore then, and they had to change it to "Don Don Donki" instead. Without this name change, we wouldn't have the catchy "donki" theme song. 😂
    P.S. The founder of Donki resides in Singapore on Sentosa island.
