• How Kobe Bryant Evolve...
Players like Kobe are so relatable to me because players like Lebron and MJ does things that normal people can’t do. I loved Kobe’s approach to the game of basketball because he realized if he wanted to improve as a player then he’d had to learn all the fundamentals. We don’t see that anymore unfortunately
Yup. Kobe did it with old fashioned hard work and kept improving year after year
Kobe didn’t have next level athleticism
He had next level work ethic and the desire to be the greatest
Facts fam bam 💥 Kobe didn’t give up on his talent to me basketball is like music you don’t grow unless you keep a Flow (practice) and Kobe didn’t give up his flow and that was working hard to be the best player he could be tbh that’s why Kobe is and great inspiration to me and what I went through in life he helped me learn don’t give up when you lose you grow when you lose take your L’s and make them a W
Well said!!
@@Tunezsuna loss is an opportunity to learn to be better
@@muddywood facts bro you lose for lessons and that’s what a lot of young one don’t know about I’m born in the early 90s and I feel like we was the last generation of that lesson
I would disagree. I think kobe was a supreme athlete when he got into the league, so much that it pushed his dunk contest appearance in 98... what I love about kobe is that he didn't wait til his athleticism left him before working on the rest of his game. Just like Mike, two more complete players by the end of their careers versus the start. Lebron has been the same since day 1 and I can't say he evolved his game because he wanted too but because the league forced him too. Lebron whole game is based off his size and strength and not skill, just like shaq, nothing wrong with it but call it what it is
You could tell Kobe worked non-stop on his game.
He did it to a fault. Tim Grover had to force him to train less lol
Kobe behind the back reverse dunk one of my favorite highlights not as athletic naturally but worked relentlessly on his craft mind and body
I know. I still dont know how the heck he pulled thay off
The improvements he made over the years on his game are ridiculous
It really is. He had the most insane fundamentals by 2007
It was almost as if Kobe didn't feel challenged enough so he just started shooting difficult shots
Also I have mad respect for Kobe because he had the humility to ask for help. Getting better was all that mattered and he didn't care who he had to ask in order for him to improve
absolutely. So many players have helped him because he asked. From Reggie Miller to MJ, D Wade, Hakeem, Gary Payton, etc
He truly loved the game and respected the game. He studied film of every all-time great before him because he knew there was something he could learn from each of them. The dude would even look beyond basketball to try to develop his skills, such as soccer and even took tap dancing lessons to improve foot agility. He wasn't afraid to ask Gary Payton to train him how to play better defense. Like who in the current NBA would ask an OG to improve their DEFENSE? Also, we've seen tons of players go to Hakeem for lessons but Kobe's the only player I've seen to actually learn those moves and use them in games.
Kobe Bryant always wanted to perfect his game and it payed off very well later on in his career
for sure! Just watched his final game again recently and his footwork is amazing
Thank you for the video bro I really appreciate it and Kobe is my favorite player and inspiration to grow as an person just because of his basketball game thank you again bro your channel has all my support from Cali
Oh bro thank you so much for the kind words!! 🙏
@@TheRealMindCrime thank you bro for keeping it 💯
Always will brotha. I'm too stubborn to be fake lol
I will call.Kobe's career is the greatest. He doesn't have the athleticism and gifts like Mike, Shaq, Wilt got. But he still managed to make the most out of it. Started as a bench player ended as a REAL NBA LEGEND. Unlike some who was hype as the the CHOSEN 1 in 03 and still peddling lies to this day.
Agreed. He was the hardest worker in the game. He earned every skill he obtained
Kobe was the toughest shot maker of all time
agreed. Him and Steph. It was AI for me before Kobe just started making the craziest shots ever lol
MJ also had a split stance in the post like Hakeem in the 1st 3 peat..it's a mystery to me why he stopped using that.
T-mac also did deep 3's on his Magic days
Interesting....if MJ changed the stance then im sure he had a reason cuz his post game in the 2nd 3 peat is the best I've ever seen.
The big difference between LeBron and Jordan, Kobe and a few others was their ability to adapt and evolve their skillset; LeBron as you said is more a less the same today as he was in his rookie season and a lot of players today just walk in and whatever they have, they have they don't learn because they think they know it all from day one.
yup, Jordan and Kobe had a complete evolution to their games as they went from young man to old man. I love seeing them adapt.
@@TheRealMindCrime Especially Jordan as just with age he lost some athleticism, he was obviously still a tremendous athlete but he was probably a 2nd or two slower, that combined with just wear and tear of long seasons and no sleep caused him to rely more on technique, Kobe was always like a surgeon with his game. LeBron is just a running back bulldozing through people and they let him get away with it lol
I love the Kobe video . people have some distain for him for no reason. Go ahead and do the LeBron video I watch even though I don’t really like him.
Lol. Ok
Young Lebron was actually great, i admired him before the 2016 self proclamation, but i already disqualified him at the time for GOAT due to the Dallas meltdown.
I looked up to young lebron too. After 2011 i knew he couldn't surpass Jordan but that was ok. I was still a fan and i still thought he was great. Then he proclaimed he was the GOAT and I was disgusted by him for disrespecting all the greats still above him in the GOAT conversation
@@TheRealMindCrime i completely felt the same but i do not want to discount his greatness until he accumulated antics and that made me say “thats it, enough is enough, i cant root for him anymore”.
Yeah went he left Cleveland the second time for LA I was completely done lol
Honestly i think i put my shoes in some basketball players too i think thats ehy i enjoy it so much because i can tell when a shot is tough
Me too. Basketball and live music is hard for me to watch because I'm busy breaking everything down and imagining what i would be doing or how the heck did he play that!? Lol
It's the same way!!! It's called AGE. ATHLETIC VS LOW POST
And of course mamba molded himself based on Micheal Jordan
Yup!!
Kobe split the D was against the Raptors in the 81pt game
I recently watched his final game where he scored 60 and he did the D Wade split there too lol. Kobe used every trick he could pull from. He's so awesome
@@TheRealMindCrime prolly never gonna see a like that with his type of work ethic
To me Kobester had an unused bit of athleticism due to his foot placement while running/jumping - mostly over the heel (I believe that - and over-training - led to his knee problems and ultimately achilles tear.) . It can be seen in this video as well. Many times he even digs his heel into the ground. I think that's why his first step wasn't as quick as it could have been and also it limited his vert. His highest jumps were when he jumped through the mid-front foot placement (by mistake).
Although his footwork ranks with the best ever, this running/jumping he somehow never figured out.
High flyers like MJ, Nique, Shawn Kemp, Vince, Clyde, TMac, Steve Francis, etc., (and professional dunkers of course) all are using this technique.
In comparison LeBron is almost 100% through the very front of his feet, almost tip-toeing. It's weird. Even when just walking he is placing his toes first and then the rest of the foot. This helps him when he runs down the court in a straight line (or close to straight line without any sharp turn) and with his one foot jumps. But as soon as he needs to do a sudden turn 30° or more, he trips over his own feet.
This is part of why Kobe's career is so much better than LeBron's: because you see growth in a variety of ways.
Kobe kept his pride in playing at the highest level and with the most effort, but he was so humble as he got older in learning more from his peers/mentors.
He was still young when he got into the league but you really saw him grow into a legendary player and a very driven man.
LeBron, on the other hand, never improved his game, discredits his peers/coaches/mentors, and acts more childish NOW than he did out of high school.
I know Kobe is right about your's and my age but it's not like we expected or wanted LeBron to flop. After how most of us felt about Kobe as the next Jordan then growing to love him many of us were excited to see what LeBron brought. LeBron didn't. He totally ruined his own legacy and continues to double down. Now the emperor has new clothes and the media won't mention it because he brings too much money.
Ha! No pun intended on wanting LeBron to flop. 😂
I truly wanted Lebron to be the best ever. I felt that for Wade too.
Pump fake... pump fake... Rising jumper from 20-30ft out.
The origin of kids shouting 'KOBE!' He was the only baller I've seen have a terrible shot as a signature shot. Because only Kobe could hit it time and time again
Epic!
10:25 How many steps is that?
dang! He held that pivot foot on the ground that entire time. Good god he had great foot work
Lebron James at best is a 2 level scorer.
Don't taint this video with Lebron lol 😂
@@TheRealMindCrime I'm Sorry😂😂😂
😆 🤣 😂
