    I made this yesterday, I used mushrooms instead of potatoes. OMG, it tasted AMAZING. I also made green seasoning using your recipe guidelines. For my herbs, I used 1bunch cilantro, 1/2 bunch parsley, white ends of scallions 2 bunches, a handful of mint leaves, handful of sorrel leaves.

    I made this today. It was frigging delicious. I had some tweaks tho. I used jalapeno peppers that were left over from making a mexican dish, I added all purpose seasoning along with the salt and I also used thyme leaves instead of fine thyme. My first time cooking curry and as a Trini woman this is a must know lol. Thanks to you, I have a manual on how to cook curry so it comes out well every time

    I love this recipe. All your recipes are simple but the results are amazing. Usually I would also add a few curry leaves in the oil with the mathee to fry. Looks delicious.

    Doesn't only Trinis call it channa and aloo?
    A staple in most weddings and other function with lots of people attending.

      in trinidad, it's atually called channa and aloo, I think she called it this for the ones who know it as chickpeas and potato.

      @@sunkissedheart347 I love Pakistani people. I have Pakistani people as friends but outside my friend circle they can be very sensitive when I remind them that originally they are Indians and only became Pakistanis when India was divided. Same with Bangladeshis.

    Hi Ria, does the Stiring at the end make the stew thicker or are you just evaporating the liquid a little bit?
    Also are you using particular type of curry powder? Thanks

      Elsa&lisa Hi sorry I missed your questions. I was never notified. Stirring does both. I use Cariherb from Trinidad. Any Trini brand will work. 🌷

    This is something I been looking for. Thank u. My best friend in high school was Indian and her mother used to make something like this and put it over rice. It was yummy! And spicy 😊. I've missed it. Been long time since I found something close to it and this is it I believe. Hers was a little more different in coloring but close enough. Thank u again.     Dear Ria, If I can't find Bandhania, is it ok to buy green seasoning from Amazon? Which brand would you recommend? Thank you.

      Nageswara Rao Vellanki Bala I never recommend buying green seasoning -most contain chemicals and preservatives and nothing like freshly made ! You can use chopped scallion or cilantro.

      i0wNz407 continue to cook it a little longer. Also keep in mind that it thickens as it cools.

    U know I just realized don’t use amchar massala in ur curry. I use the 4 in mine. curry, geera, turmeric and amchur. Home economics teacher taught me that way. It’s still banging.
