It's his first year. A lot of players have really good first years. Remember Thomas Rawls? If Carson keeps this pace up for another season or two, then we can say he's under/overrated, depending on popular perception at that point in time.

I wasn't totally sure about Mahomes at the beginning of the season, but he really is developing into an elite quarterback. Sure, he has a lot of great weapons on that offense, but he's shown some great decision making and obviously has fantastic throwing ability. Even though they lost, he still played well and is really proving himself
