Welcome to our new “Greatest Game” series! Please comment with what game we should do next!!!
1981 Chargers/Dolphins Epic in Miami
Giants vs. Saints week 8 2015
2006 AFC Championship, a classic within the Brady vs Manning rivalry
1998 Wild Card game between Packers and 49ers
2021 NFC Title game
2021 Bucs vs Rams
It’s not like this game was only an offensive shootout with bad defenses. These defenses were actually unreal, multiple strip sacks, pick 6’s, fumble 6’s, multiple defensive touchdowns. Both offenses were striking HUGE play after HUGE play. Rare game where everything was unbelievable
And they punted 7 times!! The rate of the game was insanely high!
Ehhhh the Chiefs defense that year was pretty awful. Fire Bob Sutton.
Chiefs had one of the worst defenses in the nfl that year
Bob Sutton was terrible @@B2Roland
Orlando Scandrick was not good lmao
2018 season was 5 seasons ago, 6 when the 2024 season starts… crazy nostalgia and time flies hard!
I remember the 2017 Draft like it was yesterday, crazy how we’re entering the 2024 season
Truly unbelievable
Super hard as an adult 😂😂😂
Feels like it was yesterday watching these highlights
Bengals are coming down with a Super Bowl win in NOLA
Mahomes's first year was so special because every week we were like "Oh I didn't know he could do that"
This was actually his second year! His first as a starter though
@@mariosnum1fanThis was his first year. Sitting on the bench never counts as year 1
@@SycoticForeverNeverAF true no one ever says Aaron rodgers 2008 season was his 4th.
Yep he took the NFL by storm that year.
@@SycoticForeverNeverAFit does count tf you mean
After this game, every superbowl played has featured one of these teams. Pretty crazy to think about actually
That is wild
Yup but they have matched up not once which is crazy. I’ve been trynna predict and wanting a Super Bowl between these 2 teams for the past 6 seasons now
pat has 3 to the rams 1 he da goat
I mean, I don't see how his rings compared to the rams really makes him the goat
@@its_maui_bro0457he beat the Niners twice so I don’t mind
The LA Coliseum may have run down as hell, but it was seriously a bad ass stadium that I’d love to see a team play in again. I get that there’s an appeal big fancy stadiums, but the old ones really have something special about them. I like the Coliseum better than SoFi if I’m being honest.
i think about this every so often
even their uniforms and logo used to be better.
Oh yes! The old Coliseum is a grand old place. When the Rams came back, I was so happy that they played there until SoFi was built. I understand that we must accept the new, but there was always something special when The Rams or Trojans played there.
@@famousspearr honestly yeah. Their new uniforms are just a little too much, they aren’t bad though.
@@patguitare yeah it is almost like if the Packers replaced Lambeau, you shouldn’t get rid of history like that. These modern stadiums are really flashy, sometimes they blend together. The older ones had a lot of character, I think it would have been a smart idea to just upgrade what they already had instead of doing what they did. It’s a cool stadium, but it just is kinda like it’s trying too hard, idk how to explain it.
Dude is responsible for two of the most exciting games in NFL history - Chiefs/ Rams; Chiefs/ Bills playoffs. Anything else?
Chiefs vs Texans 2019 playoff was special aswell
@@ricosuave3377Best second quarter of football ever played
“Responsible”
You neglected to mention the 2018 AFCCG.
@@ricosuave3377 true
Best MNF game of all time. Both teams balled out, and the Rams were victorious.
It arguably is, this game I feel is also what made Mahomes Mahomes.
@LiamDeege it did, lol. Just unfortunate, the Pats won the sb.
@@kevinuchiha6830if only the Chiefs had a defense in 2018
@@ChiefBlue4298 lol. If that was the case, the world would've been in for a ride.
@@kevinuchiha6830 Just as much as this year's Super Bowl.
THIS should’ve been the Super Bowl that year!
If Dee Ford wasn’t offsides, then we could’ve had this in the Super Bowl. This would’ve been much better than the boring one we got.
@anthonywatkins5165: Still would’ve felt tainted, given that HORRIFIC no call that pretty much let the Rams into the Super Bowl.
Saints deserved it more
As a Rams fan, I’ll never forget this game. It was also after this game when I felt that a Kansas City Super Bowl victory was inevitable in the near future. If the Chiefs’ defense was even average in 2018 no team would have stopped them.
Yup. Much as I wanted to see these two in the Super Bowl again that season, I will say the loss to New England was the best thing to happen to them because it forced them to reevaluate their defense, fire their DC at the time Bob Sutton and hire Steve Spagnuolo. As much as Mahomes, Kelce and Reid rightfully get credit for the offensive side, Spagnuolo and Jones have been every bit as important on defense.
I had a similar feeling about your Rams after this game. I already knew they were good, but this showing is what made me certain that y'all were gonna take it home. Took a bit longer than I expected tho!
@@lucashenderson2775Also Jones got much better. His techinque wasnt as good in 2018, played higher
@@jrad410 Exactly. His technique improving was a major key in getting them over the hump.
This was the greatest game I’ve ever seen. As a Chiefs fan, I wasn’t even mad about the loss, cause the game was that much of a treat to watch.
Same!
Respect from a Rams fan! Chiefs fans were great at the Coliseum.
To this day, I have NO idea how Joe Tessitore's voice isn't permanently shot from the sheer lunacy that was the Monday Night Shootout. XD Thanks for posting this!
Man, Todd Gurney was so so fun to watch in his prime, especially in the McVay offense.
Loved Todd gurney
Ma boi Todd gurney
Yeah bro Todd Gurney was such a beast, I loved him.
I have a Todd Gurney jersey
Best Monday Night Game of all time by far.
The greatest game in Monday Night Football history .
To think this game almost took place in Mexico City
Forget Mexico City. This game was one offsides penalty away from taking place in the SB!
@@UWalvern0810it should’ve been saints chargers that year. Easily Brees best year but those chargers with rivers were no joke either!
Something tells me it wouldn’t gone this way if it did
@@mariosnum1fan Can’t say they were no joke when they got beat like one in NE.
@@mariosnum1fan Chargers the team that always chokes, waste careers of hall of famers, and is cursed?
This game wasn’t supposed to be this good.. I’ll never forget this game 💯
In fairness, it was anticipated to be the game of the year. But, no one anticipated what we got. It was incredible.
This is the game that shows in every sports bar in heaven.
Amen!
They show SB LIII in hell
Patrick Mahomes 2018 MVP Season Is Incredible
Well I'm certainly glad the game was ultimately played in Los Angeles. If Hollywood loves anything, it's a good show. And these two teams put on a hell of a show that night
Man oh man. I was at this game live, and it’s still the greatest sporting event I’ve been to and find it hard to ever be topped.
2 elite offenses and surprisingly, there was a lot of great defensive plays made during the game that doesn’t get noticed cause of the final score.
Four of the next six SB winners from this game. All time game
Serious candidate for the greatest game in the Super Bowl era, if not in NFL history, period.
Fun fact: every super bowl that has taken place since this game has featured either the Chiefs or the Rams
Probably the best regular season game in Rams history and best MNF game in NFL history
Edit: I wish I was there the energy in the colosseum was electric!
Absolutely! I was driving toward Los Angeles' Wilshire District (Korea Town now) to my mother-in-law's house to get some work done. I was listening to the radio broadcast on my way there and remembered the energetic sounds and roar of the crowd as the game went on. Needless to say, I didn't get a whole lot of work done that night!
I was at that game and it was unbelievable. Amazing, just amazing. Rams fanbase showed up!!!
This is one of the best games of the decade and all time.
My favorite regular season game of all time (obvious homer bias), and this wasn’t just all-offense and no defense, the defenses made big plays too.
Edit: also anyone that says “Rams have no fans” just watch this game. Crowd was electric
Phenomenal Rams fans. I was at that game and it was unreal. Will never forget. Only other game was the NFC Championship against the Niners. And the Super Bowl at SoFi.
The Samson Ebukam game. Best defense I’ve ever seen in a game where both teams are scoring at will.
This should have way more then 13K views… should have millions. Such a great game. Talk about a throwback…
Its been out for 6 hours dude
Crazy that its 2024 and every year since this game was played, either the Rams or the Chiefs have been in the super bowl
If the Chiefs didn't get that offside penalty in the AFC championship, we would've gotten a great rematch
Oh without a doubt
Dee Ford game. Unfortunately we got that god awful pats/rams Super Bowl😂
@@nomarxistspls90 Arguably the worst Super Bowl of all time in my opinion.
@@LiamDeege Broncos Vs. Seahawks was pretty bad.
@@JackKnoxx Yeah I agree, but I’d argue Rams Patriots Super Bowl 53 is the worst because nothing happened in that game until the Patriots were up by 10.
I still have this game saved on DVR
This game was an absolute classic!
No lie I watched all this game .. every play was like a TD .
As a chiefs fan I watched every second of every snap that 2018 season lol. Mahomes already showed in the 2017 donkeys game glimpses of what he could be and then just lit up the whole league in 2018.
I was there 4 rows up where Tyreek caught that TD. Greatest game I’ve ever seen. Grateful for that experience.
I remember watching this live what a Game!
Possibly the greatest shootout game of all time. This was the game that made Mahomes Mahomes.
Only other one I can think of is Bengals Browns Ohio Shootout
By choking on 2 possible game winning drives?
This game had EVERYTHING. Surpassed all the expectations and hype. High scoring with both offenses and both defenses scoring touchdowns. The stars on both teams showed up and left it all on the field.
The only football game pro or college that may match this is USC vs Texas Rose Bowl National Championship. This was the Superbowl that year as far as I'm concerned.
Hahaha! Yeah man, I called this game Super Bowl 51 1/2 or Super Bowl VI.5...
This game had everything you could ask for 2 elite contenders all time great players defensive scores by both teams being in prime time the only game where both teams score 50 truly a classic
This was one of the best games I’ve seen live. My wife doesn’t watch football ever and she was glued to the TV all into it 😂
54-51 is ridiculous and is something we might never see again
It will be years before we see this again. The best part is- the high score isn't due to bad defense. The defense for both teams combined scored 3 touchdowns, and the game ended on an interception.
@@greencm7142except the Chiefs had the worst defense that year.
Only time in NFL history that a team scored 50+ points and lost.
The greatest MNF game ever played
As a Chiefs fan, this is the only game I was not upset they lost
Respect from a Rams fan :)
Superbowl against the bucs?
Miss Kareem Hunt as a chief. Dude was he best
This game solidified me as a fan for my home city. GO RAMS!
Gooo Rams!!!!
We were so close to this being the Super Bowl matchup!! Darn you Dee Ford for lining up offsides in the AFC championship when Brady threw a pick. Instead we got the worst superbowl ever. The infamous 13-3…
At least the Chiefs won the next year and Dee Ford got nothing lol
worst Superbowl for the anti patriots and rams fans, ring #6!
This is definitely one of the greatest games ever played, at the very least the most EXPLOSIVE. Good choice for the debut of this series as this is the game people of this generation will point to. (i'm a bit older so nah for me but I appreciate the greatness of teh game nonetheless)
I remember this game so clearly I was in the hospital and was gonna get surgery the next day and got to witness the beat MNF game of all time from Mt hospital bed
Todd Gurley's last great season. Man, this hurts miss him tons.
without a doubt the greatest regular season game ever. The defense of both teams played so well, with pick 6 plays, big sacks, forcing fumbles.. but the offenses man. Huge huge play after play constantly. Btw we can also see how much Mahomes has matured ngl we ain't gonna see him throw those kind of IT nowadays aren't we lmao
Damn this being considered a “throwback” is wild. Pats 2018 season honestly feels like yesterday.
I remember watching him throw 6tds against the steelers and just knowing this dude will be a 1st ballot HOFer.
I'll never forget this game, one of the greatest games I've ever seen. Lived up to the hype and way more
That should be a Super Bowl worthy match up!!!
It was supposed be a rematch. But Dee ford was lined up offsides in the AFCCG against Brady when he threw the pic in 2018. That was game
@@dederickjones6920 man that still hurts 😢
I remember this game like it was yesterday..watching this was something else I still get shivers
Underrated aspect that added to this games greatness to me was the stadium they were playing in. Having this game be played in the coliseum felt right
Yup...you get it. The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum!
Ebukam’s interception was absolutely beautiful
So glad I can say I watched this game live
dude I remember turning this game on early in the 4th quarter thinking “woah how did this happen??” and watched the rest of the game, what a nail biter this was!
Probably still the best mnf game no one saw it coming lmao
Love the new series!! Hope you continue this for a long time 😊
This was my generation’s version of The Greatest Game Ever Played
This was the greatest game to ever watch and witness on MNF. This was the game everyone was expecting to be in the SB that year in 2018. If the Chiefs would’ve dethroned Brady and had the rematch in ATL, that would’ve been the highest scoring game in SB history
All those uniforms the Rams wore when they returned to LA were sick! I don’t know why they left them too soon they were just introduced smh
Can’t believe this game is already on NFL throwback I still remember watching this game back in 8th grade
A high scoring affair on both offenses and defenses! Talk about being explosive in a massive Monday Night Football matchup!
Was there that night with my nephew who’s a diehard Rams fan and I diehard Chiefs fan and even though we lost was a night to remember and to think since then Chiefs have won three Super Bowl and the Rams one
I saw this whole game on tv and it was awesome watching them score more and more after each score
Watch this game Live it was so electric it’s crazy
One of the best games I have ever seen in my life!
This really should have been the SB that season
Yup
I remember calling out of work to watch this game. So glad I did 😅
Kinda nuts as well that each of the last 6 super bowls have contained one of these teams
That was a great watch, good memories, and I say that as a KC fan 😊
Two things,
That Scandrick near INT at the end, wowsers, completely forgotten about that, haha.
And, the amount of incredible plays on defense, gets forgotten when it comes to this game.
What a game.
Definitely was a great game it kinda reminds me of the game between Cleveland Browns vs the Cincinnati Bengals 20 years ago it was 58 to 48 it was a really good game
I remember watching this game in college at ASU. Was just a regular season game I think during the week, not even Sunday, and the lounge in our engineering dorm was PACKED like it was the damn super bowl. Such an amazing game
Man let me tell y'all... I remember watching this game and this was a CLASSIC!!!
That was the greatest regular season game of all time. Lived up to the hype and then some.
This game was so awesome. What's crazy is Cooper Kupp wasn't even in this game for the Rams and for the Chiefs this was Kareem Hunt's final game with the Chiefs. 5 years later and these 2 teams have been to every Super Bowl since (Rams in 53 and 56) Chiefs (54,55,57,58).
kinda cool the postgame interview clips don't spoil the ending at all. nice editing!
As a Rams fan, this game took a few years off of my life 😂
I hear ya buddy lol..Go Rams!!!
the venue definitely played into this game having that grand stage feel and it should be known
I was on my way to Vegas , then getting into my hotel while I’m watching this game on my phone barely paying attention to the world. My favorite game ever!
As a 9ers fan this was one of the best games if not the best game I've ever seen regular season games that is
Hey you got my respect and I'm a Rams fan. Few Niner fans like you buddy. We need more.
@@nimishparmar5207 call em how I see em homie i can't be delusional
I revisit this game so many times
Was amazing for a Monday night 🌙 of football...highlighting this new crop of QB'S and modern offenses!!!
Fr
wow this rams team is really good they'll score a lot of points in the super bowl i can't wait
This game and SB 52 will always be my two favorite games
I’m not a fan of either team. I remember being at a bowling alley and watching from 17-16 and looking at my friend like we are witnessing history. What a game, what a night.
Later on, the true GOAT beat these teams back to back to claim ring #6
Always said this is my favorite Chiefs loss ever, I honestly didn't even walk away disappointed or upset about this game, how could you? I feel proud that we were part of arguably the greatest game in NFL history.
Mad respect from a Rams fan
Respect right back at you 👊🏽. It truly was such an amazing game to watch, I don't know how it felt to watch it in person but I bet all those who were in attendance walked away breathlessly blown away.
Incredible. Just wow
Game was LEGENDARY 🔥
Best game!!! 💛💙
I remember this game even though im not a fan of either of these teams..i remember being so hyped..this game was a couple days after me and my family moved into our new house so i was laying in my blow up mattress, watching with my phone proped up against the wall plugged in..lucky me fell asleep in halftime so i couldnt see the rest but it was fun
I was AT this game. It was the most electric feeling as a chiefs fan to be able to participate in the home of the chiefs chant! Tough game to lose, but damn it was amazing
As a French, I don't get to watch many night games. 4-5 games tops, mainly if they involve Chicago, my favorite team.
I decided, months ago, to give it a try. The more the season went on, the more impatient I was getting. I was so impatient I almost feared it would be a dull game. I didn't see the time flying because it was so epic. A true boxing game, punches after punches, offensive plays after defensive plays. Both teams scored over 50 points and the stadium was sensational. I don't think I'll ever live such a game ever again. Only problem : it was just a regular season game. Otherwise, it would have been the greatest game ever. But the greatest regular season game ever is already quite the accomplishment.
My favorite game as a Chiefs fan. Happened during a great time of my life. Chiefs were finally good. Mahomes first season as a starter. The high score. Joe Tessitore on the call. Just a great vibe
Probably the best game I have ever watched
Love Sofi, but i miss the coliseum. the energy when it's packed is something u have to experience. i didn't go to this game but i knew the atmosphere was incredible
They should go to the Coliseum though in the pre season.
As a detroit lions fan, I am loving this game
