    In this fishing video I cleaned my first alligator gar. This gar was 35lb and was about 3.5'-4' long. For the first time it was a little intimidating but it was honestly easier than I thought it would be.

    A little red. A sharp knife and a big cleaver sounds like top tools. I saw one guy use tin snips on his. That's a bad ass fish.

      It was a little red, I probably should’ve bleed it first. Once I washed it I was all white meat. Tasted like chicken

      I’ve had a few people tell me about the tin snips. I’ll need to get a pair. That and a decent fillet knife.

    Use a good pair of tin snipes and a shorter blade knife start at the second rib on the tail cut all the way to the head on both sides cut down both sides just behind the gills and hull it out all in about 5 minutes

      @BitesandStrikesFishing  10 месяцев назад

      I’ll have to give that a try.
      The machete worked fairly well for me but I’ve heard of the tin snip method

    Would you catch cook a 10ft dinogator? What’s the best size for eating?

    • @BitesandStrikesFishing
      @BitesandStrikesFishing  10 месяцев назад +2

      I would not.
      Those big ones have the good genes to spawn more big ones.
      Besides, a large fish would be like 50-80 years old. No one wants to eat old meat 🤮

    Get you a good hunting knife about a 5-inch hunting knife it works better than that chef knife you got there
