As a home theatre enthusiast, I'm pleased to learn that music producers are actually doing something to make atmos music a reality. In the near future we'll no longer rely on Dolby's upmixing to fully utilize our surround systems. Also, that Genelec setup is sick!! The Finnish know what they're doing in the speaker department.
I've been a DJ for over 15 years, but one of my own struggles is music production. This studio is just fantastic, and very inspiring. I can feel that it's not just about the gear, but more about the experience, the feeling, the warmth of it all. Way too soon to know if I'll ever have a space as fantastic as this one, but I at least have enough to take the journey to see if I get that far. I went in excited to see your setup but found myself more excited to hear about your journey along the way. I lost my mom in 2019 and it was very hard for me to pick my guitar back up after that loss. It's that drastic of a difference in how you experience music and is probably the most inspiring thing that has happened to audio/music in a long time. The setup looks very nice. One question though: It seems like your working position is not in the center of the Atmos setup, it looks like you are sitting way closer to the front speakers. Same goes for the top surround speakers, seems like they are all behind you when you are sitting at the desk. What listening position have you optimized your setup for, where you are working or the center of the speaker setup where everybody sits to enjoy Atmos in full effect?

Love the new direction of your content! I knew for so long that music and tech at this point are intertwined! There aren’t enough music tech content makers highlighting the technological aspect and side of the music! Super freaking cool! Loved the in depth look! If you like this you should check out the stuff they’re using for live music now, it’s called immersive and all of the big live PA manufactures like Meyer D&B and L-Acoustic have their own version of it. The tech behind it is super cool

More speakers more money...Surround systems been around for decades now. They just keep adding speakers as to get more of your money. (business model) Drained your wallet, with the quickness, I'm sure. A quality 5.1 or 2 system will impress just as this setup did. Your love for sound is on par with my own...You clearly are willing to spend more money than I ever would to stay up to date. Planned obsolescence dictates our spending. Getting sucked into the latest and greatest surround processing systems each time they come out is exactly what they want you to do...and they make you pay for the privilege. No thank you. Also not crazy about the room within a room you got going on. Treat the room itself, in stead of walling off a separate room to accommodate you new surround system. I see the amount of work you put into this and am not minimizing your effort. Amazing work. I do hope your going to make money with this setup to help cover some of the enormous cost attached to a system like this. I'm a bang for the buck guy. I run a Lexicon loaded DC2 and a Wadia 151 Power DAC mini. Both purchased used. The lexicon is the heart of my 5.2 home theater and the Wadia runs my computer (eyefinity) setup. Yes, your system will be more lifelike when that helicopter flies over. Just not a huge priority, for me. Congrat's on getting it done and impressing literally everyone that sat down. IRL I would be the friend that would give you shit for spending too much. Inviting you to my home to hear my system that cost less than half of what you spent. Little devil on your shoulder, if you will. Take care Jonathan. Amazing work.
