As i see it, the Action 5 Pro is on newer firmware and has a lot of headroom for firmware tuning in the coming months. The Ace Pro has mature firmware with less headroom for improvements. That makes the Action 5 Pro a better option going forward.
17:20 insta360 app has GPS option so you can use the app to add GPS data to recorded footage from camera. if you don't have apple watch or Garmin device.
Go pro 13 gets destroyed by action 5 and Ace pro in low light, Action 5 has better audio where you can connect 2 microphones at the same time, it also has dual touch OLED screens and superior battery life. Go pro need to up thier game to stay ahead.
on bigger screens, it's quite easy to see the difference in quality of the Action 5 and Ace Pro. in low light, it's even easier to pinpoint the two. the gopro looks so bad in low light that people should just shoot with their mobile phones instead and get better quality shots. the blur that it produces because of the slow shutter speed is unacceptable. that's what happens when you use tiny sensors in 2024
Great comparison! I didn't know the GO 3s existed until now. I fly speed wings and since I hike up to every launch and would like a second or two of selfie intro without an edit to prove it's me so the magnet mount sounds nice rather than putting my helmet on and then launch. GoPro does make nice videos.but their Quik app sucks unless you subscribe, then it's pretty nice. I like when you use the mounting bar and play all camera recordings on one screen. Very helpful, thanks!
you bet. The problem with Ace Pro is that it is not really greatly designed as an action camera but it has the better output compared to the OA5. OA5 also has a very good heat system
true. but people with gopro brand loyalty cannot see that because their brains tell them that soft details and blurry underexposed videos is better lol! their target market right now is people who have very low image quality standards and are willing to pay more for the gopro logo
@@gregarroyo-er7ynI want to agree and use A5, but I don't know why but something about A5 footage looks digital while G13 looks natural , even after color correction. In daylight G13 feels better while A5 looks better in lowlight for me. Previously had the same issue on shoots for FPV when DOP wanted to change to GoPro, because A5 stood out too much from DSLR cameras and didn't stitch as good. That digital oversharpened look looks somehow bad. The ND filters help a bit.
8:48 the LED sign "massage" at the entrance is not readable with osmo action 5 pro, but seems better for 360 ace pro at 9:04 . I use ace pro but also use DJI pocket 3 which is better at low light. I just hope DJI put the sensor of pocket 3 into osmo action 5, or, insta put bigger sensors for ace pro. But neither happen yet.
the first 2 videos from the left were indeed the best. I just couldn't figure out which one was the dji and ace pro. meanwhile the gopro looked the same as the cheaper insta go3s which is horrendous. the quality of the gopro goes downhill like there's no tomorrow when ambient light is less than perfect. its stabilization also goes down the toilet in low light situations and makes the shots a blurry mess. only people with blind gopro loyalty and those who only watch videos on 5" mobile phones would think otherwise. watching the videos on a tv easily makes you pinpoint the low quality videos from the gopro and the go3s
@ I have gopro 12 and I am frustrated with gopro mounting system. I am thinking of buying magnetic mounting system from 3rd party manufacturers ulanzi or something like that or just switching to insta360 ace pro or maybe dji osmo action. Honestly gopro is getting me headache with freezing, overheating, awful connection to quik app, touchscreen is also pretty bad…..it’s not cheap to switch from one brand to another. I was really happy with GoPro 2 back in the day, that thing was working no matter what you did with it. But from GoPro 5 things was getting worse and worse. Now I am watching your videos to see what is best for me. The new ace pro 2 is really lovely camera, for me of course 🫣🙂
Action 5 skin tones, and sky color is the worst. I don't like that HDR like footage. It is nice to have it, but it would be nice to have an option to shut it down. This way video looks artificial
Yes, GoPro didn't really make any great moves. But let's be honest with ourselves... The Hero13 is currently the best action cam on the market and an Ace Pro2 won't change that. The recordings from the Action5 look washed out and muddy, sometimes even unusable. And let's be honest again, GoPro can also do crap with overexposed AI, but they don't do it because the quality is so damn bad.
I bought the x4 just for the 360 video so when im alone i can record myself in different angles on tripod and other than that gopro is still my go to go action cam.
@@FayeAbram-h7s Yea the X4 is way better then the 360 Hero right. But Actioncams Way, GoPro are still King. I really Hope for the Action5, but.....a Bitrate of 60....Cmon Dji.....60🤣 WE got 2010?
let's be honest. you do not know what you're talking about. go pro has the smallest sensor compared to the action and ace pro. it has the slowest aperture as well at 2.8. it will never be better in terms of video quality because of its hardware limitation. it's soft in good lighting situations. its stabilization also looks garbage. and low light is like using a decade old mobile phone. and let's be honest again, being properly exposed in low light situations in not the same as being "overexposed". the reason why go pro is darker in low light is because again, its hardware won't let it capture more light because its sensor is so small lmao!
how does it feel living in a world where poor video quality is considered "the best"? hahaha! go pro is still using years old sensor size! and you think that makes it the best? there's absolutely no way a small sensor with a 2.8 aperture can capture more details, better dynamic range and less noise! those overexposed shots that you're talking about is the result of having better hardware. it is NOT overexposed, it is PROPERLY exposed. gopro shots are DARKER because its sensor cannot capture the same amount of light as the action 5 and ace pro. it is not doing that to make the quality better, it is doing that because it is incapable of capturing enough light to produce properly exposed images! it also doesn't matter if the bitrate is low if the quality of the video is better. who cares about having high bitrate if the video quality is crap! its like saying 48MP mobile phone produces better quality images compared to 24MP full frame cameras. you sound like the exact target market of gopro. a guy who is blindly loyal to a brand and is swayed by numbers instead of actual results.
where you watching the video on a 4 inch screen? I mean the amount of blur coming from the gopro clips are so bad it is unusable. it is forced to use very low shutter speeds because it is using such a tiny sensor. the video is also so jittery in low light. details are nowhere to be found the entire clip looks like an animated painting. how can anyone think that is better quality is beyond me unless you're a hardcore gopro loyalist

On Big screen which is better between ace pro and action 5 ?
I’m watchinh on My phone 😅
I’m loving the 360 ecosystem but the DJI mic advantage is tempting.
👍
GoPro doesn't say it, and I don't know why but the new HLG HDR gives exceptional low light performance!
I chose Action 5 and I'm very happy
X4 vs Pocket 3 vs Action 5 Pro ?
Man just imagine what we could do if the pocket 3 was waterproof

you bet. The problem with Ace Pro is that it is not really greatly designed as an action camera but it has the better output compared to the OA5. OA5 also has a very good heat system
Great video as usual... but I don't think you have enough cameras there ;)
😅
Very informative review, thank you!
I currently have the insta360 x4, intsa360 Go2, GoPro Hero 9. They all are good in there own senario

1 - Action 5.
Dji action 5 low light footage looks over sharpened why?
Maybe a settings thing? On the Pocket 3 I also have to turn sharpness down or it’s too much.
I’m waiting for x5 hopefully coms with 10bit 4.2.2 😊
