First of all... such a great job!!!! Wow! I bought DJI 4 one month ago and I sent it back to buy the 5 pro. Wow, very nice!!! I have the drone too and I preferred because it's smaller, harder to break because no parts are moving and as now with the DJI 2 microphone, you have more perks. Plus the 10 bit log. And GoPro, what a shame, I saw already videos about the videos at night and I knew it's really bad, but when I watched underwater, OMG!!! Extremely bad!
Would love a more in depth youtube short about heat and cold weather testing (simulated indoors is fine). 40°c testing and -15 or something Because my friend has a go pro and it struggled to capture content on our beach and dessert vacations as it overheated and shutdown Action 5 pro performs amazing in the heat, but I was waiting for ace pro 2 temperature tests before deciding to buy dji action 5 pro or insta360 ace pro 2
Always love your reviews- thanks! In your professional opinion 🙂 which one looks most true to life straight out of the camera without any color grading?
I need to know what that 2X clarity mode looks like indoors, how the battery compares to Action 5 at 4K60 and if there is any over heating at that frame rate.
I’m considering two cameras: the DJI Action 5 Pro and the Insta ACE 360 Pro 2. I like that the DJI has a Dive mode and displays depth. Does the Insta have a Dive mode as well? Which one would be better for diving?
Look at the details in the highlights and shadows, so well-defined and balanced. Amazing exposure settings really, I'm wondering how they did it on an action cam?
Do any have the ability to display time stamp of date/time during recording or playback? I really enjoy watching my old home videos from when i was a kid and seeing a date/time and would like the same as I use the camera to create my own home videos for my child. Or is there another camera you recommend for this? Ideally I’d want pause recording and a time stamp display in a camera.
Saludos desde México! Excelente video, acabo de vender mi Hero 11 Black y estaba por comprar la OSMO, pero me estoy encariñando por la Ace Pro 2 jejeje dificil decisión.
9:30 the comparison video for underwater is very nice! Have you applied any color grading on ace pro2 or action 5? Or you just used only the underwater setting? Do you think ap2 can beat action5 for the deeper dive like 30 or 40 meter?
As shown in the video..nothing is corrected or applied in terms of grading. All clips were captured in the same depth 2-3m at the same location. Not sure on that last part, but i assume they will both do good using the low light mode👌
The biggest attraction to my buying choice is the unlimited cloud storage with the gopro. I video everything and clock up hundreds of hours which I then go back to in my own good time.
It seems that it's pretty much down to 2 cameras to choose from: GoPro or Insta360. There's almost nothing meaningfully better about DJI than Insta360 (other than 10-bit, but GoPro does that too and color depth in night shots is less important). GoPro meaningfully better than Insta360 at: - 64x better color depth (over 1 billion colors versus only 16 million) - Better sensor aspect ratio: 8:7 versus 4:3, allowing for better re-framing for stabilization and social media cuts - More versatile with mods, such as lenses and naked kits Insta360 meaningfully better than GoPro at: - Low light performance
insta is also more stable, better heat dissipation, longer battery life, faster charging time, bigger screen, better when shooting underwater, better wind noise reduction etc.
I lived in Honolulu for 7 years, I can't stand it. To crowded, to expensive (and I'm saying that living in Alaska now which is also expensive), and to touristy. The other islands are much better IMO.
I guess my comment got deleted. And I was giving my honest take on the cameras specially that I have some of them. I need to look at why my post was deleted specially when person ask for comments on which one and our take on the camera. We need to hear everyone take on a review. Unless something is not right with the reviewer. Screen shot
gorpo is insanely good but not in low light dji action 5 is the worst when ti comes to video quality..aren't action cam should be use in daylight where most of the actions happens but anyways gopro still has the best video quality
That’s so true. So the action 5 Pro is not that good. That’s what I been seeing on Chanel’s. Well it may get return when it comes in. Thanks. Look the GoPro 13. True to form(action)
The lack of innovation and years of complacency from GoPro is palpable at this point. They really just allowed the competition to walk thru the door, open the fridge and serve themselves. It's embarrassing.
Insta360 will never have 10bit because of the platform they use. It means a complete redesign which i doubt they’ll do. And no insta360 is not paying for anything..
I've noticed in several comparison videos that the GoPro 13 appears a bit over exposed when looking into the sun. That is not the case with the 12. Since I use multiple cameras in log with 10 bit color, the Ace Pro 2 is out for me. Trying to color grade 8 bit to match my 10 bit cameras could prove insanely challenging when we are talking about 16.7 million colors versus a billion. Very disappointed. When you put the word "Pro" in your name, and your 2 main competitors offer 10 bit color, you really don't have a choice other than to include a 10 bit option.
Insta 360 is so sharp, its not natural looking at all, and not good for making things look cinematic. The only benefit is zooming in. But its kind of yuk image quality for huge 8k file size. High shutter speed, zero depth of field also makes it look so jerky. Sony X3000 beats it for natural looking stabilization and daylight footage , and it's an 8 year old action camera at this point. I'll pass.
you're probably mistaking "details" as "too sharp" because the x3000 has a microscopic sized sensor that is incapable of producing details. the x3000 hasn't been updated or seen a successor for a reason. it is because nobody other than the other 8 people -- yourself included who bought it gave Sony enough reason to update it. it was dead on arrival when it was released because it wasn't any good as an "action camera". its stabilization is not good enough for "action" shots. its videos are jittery as hell even when you're hand holding it while walking and is completely useless when mounted on a bike for action shots. its mounting options is non existent. its form factor is horrendous. its not even waterproof without a case. and its sensor is smaller than the gopro and any modern smartphone which makes its low light performance worse than the go pro. its battery life is at least half an hour shorter than modern action cams at 4k.
@@Trip-Play Actually the usable sensor area is not much different. The x3000 has a lens of about 17mm. To get a pleasing image (without distortion) on something like a gopro or insta360, the ultra wide lenses are cropped in by a lot, and then cropped even more because of the digital stabilization. So the x3000 uses the full sensor size, effectively having a larger sensor when you compare a lot of the gopros and dji action cameras that came since once cropped in. The x3000 was used for pleasing looking vlogs for a very long time by pretty big travel channels (bald and bankrupt, herald balder are just two). The microphone was also superior, and the camera pointed it like a shotgun mic. The Insta 360 doesn't close focus well on the face. The background is in focus but the face not so much. So not great for vlogs at all. The x3000s optical image stabilization also works at night. And you don't need very hight shutter speeds for the optical stabilization to work. The x3000 is 8 years old, so newer cameras will obviously have better specs. But in many ways, the x3000 different approach to action cameras was superior to what has come since.
@@camposvazquez But let's be honest, 98% of the time you create content in daylight. I really wonder why Dji and Insta are going this route. The last generation kept up better with GoPro in daylight.
Both the DJI and Insta360 look pretty close and I'd be happy with either. Go Pro looks miles behind. Such a shame to see them so far behind.
DJI already had a update to make the night mode better.
Waiting for video test
Insta360's dedication to image quality is evident with these specs. I'd love to see more sample footage showcasing the upgraded 4K60 HDR tho!

The natural looking FOV and good stabilization, that's 10/10.
It seems like this is a Two race horse, DJI action 5 or Ace pro 2.
Action 5 can record in Dlog if you dont mind applying LUTs after (post).

Incredible! Zooming 2x without quality loss is super impressive. How does that work?
By looking at the video and photo results in this show, I can personally give a score, Ace's score is 9, DJI's score is 8.9 and GP's is 7.
What will differentiate them is the low light performance of each camera
Did you use a flat color profile on Ace Pro 2? The trees on the background in the first scene looks washed out, almost brown.
Always love your reviews- thanks! In your professional opinion 🙂 which one looks most true to life straight out of the camera without any color grading?
Think he’s color grading some of his shots to let look it better.
Informative video. Thanks very much for your efforts.
Beautiful Review. INSTA360 takes thelowlight footage .. i still lean towards DJI ACTION PRO 5
Thanks! 🙌😃
I need to know what that 2X clarity mode looks like indoors, how the battery compares to Action 5 at 4K60 and if there is any over heating at that frame rate.
Can someone suggest me if ace pro 2 is good for helmet vlogging? Can it give clarity for people 30 years from camera?
Gopro is so bad…. Never buying that again
I’m considering two cameras: the DJI Action 5 Pro and the Insta ACE 360 Pro 2. I like that the DJI has a Dive mode and displays depth. Does the Insta have a Dive mode as well? Which one would be better for diving?
A5 has a pressure gauge with depth display, but ace pro 2 has a dedicated dive mode.

im sorry but go pro shouldnt be in this comparison its just sad
Did you and David Manning both go to Hawaii to review the Ace Pro2? lol is the Ace Pro 2 lighter or heavier than Action 5Pro?
I was there a month before him 😎
Heavier!!!!!
On paper, heavier, in hand, not a noticeable difference
The biggest attraction to my buying choice is the unlimited cloud storage with the gopro. I video everything and clock up hundreds of hours which I then go back to in my own good time.
Which of 3 do you believe is the best choice for mounted in motorcycle??Thanks in advance!!
dji definitely. the lens protector of ace pro is not replaceable. small rocks and you will find it in the service center for months
U can replace the lens protector on the ace too
Ace pro is quite a bit bigger and heavier. Something to consider when mounting onto helmet.
Nonsense, the weight differences on these are barely noticeable in use and as a helmet cam..
@@RobHK not nonsense when we say its bigger tho. I mean, i saw it in person and i hate it. seems like a 2009 digital camera
