Hi Otto, your reviews are definitely the best on RUclips!!! I love how you cover all the points and make it crystal clear to make a decision. Thank you so much for these videos.
Hi Otto, great video. One thing that would even make them better is if you can list at the end the pro's and con's in one slide, and then with your own conclusion. Keep up the good work.
It depends a lot on your main usage. I have bought Action 5 Pro, and I bought a wrong camera for me, so I regret it now. Two things which are becoming more and more of a dealbreaker for me to resell DJI. 1. Trumpet solar flares - very unnatural, and weird. I never saw anything similar on any other camera I own(ed) - Garmin, Gopro, Insta 2. GPS remote, telemetry data download possible only into mobile phone with their Mimo app. Just imagine 20GB file to phone, from phone to computer etc.
True. I keep telling this to people who reach out, a good product is the one that will fit your needs and style. Sorry to hear that you’ve been disappointed at the camera. Yeah the flares are pretty weird looking but I’ve managed to get them less as I’m aware of them. Other cameras are harder to avoid, but the shape is probably less annoying
time check 6:27 the details of your face and the rocks behind you are clearer on the gopro while it looks smudged on the Action 5 pro. also yes, AP5 is better in low light but it still doesn't come close to what a smartphone can do.
In my country, the action 5 pro sells for 425 usd and its predecessor sells for 355 usd (excluding extra battery pack and SD card). GoPro 12 sells for 420 usd (the dual battery pack version) and GoPro 13 with no extra battery sells for same 420 usd. Osmo action 4 adventure pack sells for 450 usd. Which camera and which package should I go with if I want to shoot videos longer than 120 minutes without heating and battery drain issue?
The gopro has a more natural color and shaper... yes... shaper, cause It doesn't depend on the software more than the quality of the sensor and therefore, in stressful situations that demand more from the camera, like a coral in the sea, the GoPro actually ends up being more realistic and clear.
Hey Bro im a road runner looking to create a running vlog and review local races in South Africa 🇿🇦... in terms of battery life and stability for a runner from your video it seems Dji osmo action 5 is the winner but can you give me any further recommendation for my intended use?
Otto Julian Selam, Your sharing was so nice, we watched a few more videos and decided to buy them. I use Suunto running watch. How can we load our running data into the video we shot? We are trying to download the FIT File from our run data from the phone and upload it to our video. But we were not successful, there is no one around us who uses this type of camera. Can you give information about this issue?....
Is there any jittering in low light super night mode while shooting at 4k 30fps or 60fps, as I had a lot of jittering when making low light footage using the Osmo Action 4?
How do you add some data like speed or power or HR from a garmin edge bike computer to the film ? And which camera do you recommend for road cycling and mountain biking? I have no camera, it would be my first one, I suppose that for this purposes stabilization and image quality would be key factors. And also some quality filming in some trails with some shadows or low light. Also thinking in the ace pro2… Thanks
You have to import the garmin data using a software, or if you get the Ace Pro 2 there is an option to do that in their app (Insta360 app). There are mixed opinions on which one is better, I think you should watch the Action 5 vs Ace Pro 2 video that I made a few days ago as I think those are the best options. GoPro is fine in daylight but when the light is not optimal it doesn’t look good anymore (this doesn’t mean night time).
hey i like to surf and ride dirtbike and i was wondering what you think i should get i have just enough money to buy them and I would hate to get it and not be happy with it i know it can be annoying having to reply to comments but if you have time it would be much appreciated. thanks
@@Klagzie yeah it’s not an easy choice. So after watching this review what do you think of each camera and how do you think they would fit in your filming?
I've always been a GoPro guy. But it's time for an upgrade, and the low light capabilities of the Action 5 has me leaning heavily that direction. Thanks for the comparison.
The GoPro suffers in low light and for me this is a major issue because I want to use the camera when it gets dark, or indoors. That’s why I don’t use the GoPro except when I need lots of footage for these kind of reviews
i HATE the action 5 pro because it does WAYYY too much internal processing and when it screws up lightning it screws up BADLY.. ive had to trash so much awesome footage on that camera because post editing SUCKS on the footage that comes out of it.. :/
@@OttoJulian_ i tried them all 8 bit, 10 bit, dlog, HLG.. it just tries to process the image itself and when you try to use manual settings its never correct.. not sure if they updated firmware or anything for it since i got it as its been sitting since i got it..
I get to use my gear in low light too often when I travel or just for regular videos, and in those cases the Action 5 is better, no doubt: that's the one I'd get if I had to choose one. Just to back up my answer, last 3 generations of Gopros have only been in my hands for a short period of time just for these kind of reviews and then I get rid of them. Nothing against them, I sell the equipment I don't use or that I don't think I'd bring with me when I travel
@camposvazquez if you use max 720 or full HD GoPro 13 will not overheat easly :).. but it is 2024.. 4k 60 or 120 or just charging ( not even fast charge!) and GoPro 13 is on edge thermal problem.
@MaciejJeszkeP we haven't seen that on go12 or gp13 overheating issues 4K/30 ... I am still on a hero 7 black ... I see no need to upgrade to any camera unless it's a gift or I find a super deal... The ap2 and a5p are great cameras but like 95% of people I shoot in light.. GoPro color is still better ..
It’s really about airflow, I’ve found success in no airflow and running max options that I need to set to pal and record at a slightly slower rate. That and WiFi off. This shouldn’t be an issue though and is from using old chips. I would have preferred a new chip set and if needed a slight heavier and larger size for a good heat sink. The new lens options are really cool though. It just makes the downsides more apparent.
This is the best tech comparison video I've ever seen. Bravo.
Glad you liked it!

Definitely Action 5 Pro.
I like to use the manual white balance to get rid of that cool tone.
