Nicely done Brett. I agree with you 100%. I was using a GoPro before I got my DJI Action II. So, I bought the Hollyland lavalier kit which includes two mics, a receiver and the case to keep and charge them in. It means I do have to use a receiver but that fits perfectly on top of my SmallRig cage. Then I got the mic adapter from DJI and the receiver plugs into that. My whole rig is still small and compact and I even have a 2nd mic if I need someone else besides myself to speak on-camera.
@@YTBrettMiller Very good. The sound files can easily be tweeted in post but I have not found it necessary to do so, so far. There is a "noise cancelling" function you can can set on either of the mics but that does seem to change the audio quality a little. I leave it off and if I have to take some background sound/noise out, I do it in post.

I only use a lens cap for the action if that’s what you mean? And it works with the lens cap on
We need the best settings for beginners in normal mode and automode, not the D-log please
Always been curious about the ND filters but i film mostly in a shop doing automotive content and not sure if that would be worth it.
