Interesting. I know many people who vlog out in public and travel and they don't like the flip screen. They prefer something more discrete and smaller like the Action 5.
Will you be doing any more tests? want to see if there's a difference between the early units and the ones on sale. I think the DJI is totally oversharp.
AP2 might have a slight edge in daylight with color and temperature... but the DJI looks WAY better in the night shooting. Which is going to be more beneficial for me with motorcycle rides at night. Action 5 pro seems to be the way to go for my use... good video
Mike..by any chance was any of this testing done with the newest DJI Action 5 Pro firmware (Date: 2024.10.18 | Firmware Version: 01.01.05.20)? I ask because the newest firmware adds support for adjusting bitrate settings. Just curious (sorry, I know you've been through multiple firmware revisions on the Insta360 camera as well. 😶🌫😶🌫😶🌫
The majority of the video was shot before DJI dropped the update! I'll make a second comparison soon, especially looking at Dlog-M vs I-LOG with the new settings :)
How much did Insta pay you to write this? Both have as good as the same picture quality and please do not compare 8K with 4K. OA5 wins by the price alone
Good image quality on the FPV test. Kinda liked the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 look ….watching on my iPhone. A little brighter in the shadows…stabilization looks really good. Only downsize is size/weight. 177.2grams vs 146g on DJI action 5 pro. Get the size down and it’s a contender. 👍
Hello !!! You don’t have jellow on action 5 pro on hélion ?? For me on my hélion normal shutter impossible. 30fps 1/60 jellow . I need To put shutter more high
At 1:28, we can see the Insta360 really loses a lot of leaf detail, and the image looks super blurry. Then at 2:12, the zoomed-in shot just confirms it for me. Totally agree with you, Insta's 8K is a joke, almost useless.
@@kaltask1 New firmware fixed nothing as far as I can tell. Higher bit rate made almost no noticeable difference in the comparison footage I observed. Didn't hear anything about them fixing the over sharpening either. The sample footage I watched was still over sharpened.
@@PaulVoorberg check Tamara Gabriels comparison. Watch specially the background objects. In 4k and big screen there are improvements visible. less jitters amd certain scenes do look better. but it could be better. 🤔
10 bit color for DJI, Standard color for the Insta360....fair comparaison ? All the tests i saw ace pro 2 was more sharpness and here this is horrible...what could explain that ? And iam not talking about low light...
Same sensor, only difference is DJI over sharpens and Insta360 under sharpens for a natural look. Insta360 uses the full sensor so they can do 8K whille DJI only uses a quarter so 4K. So DJI's stabilization should be better without cropping but its not really Night mode on the DJI looks like ass becuse they over sharpen
No 10-bit video, no proper LOG mode. The comparison in the forest says it all IMO - the sky and tree leaves are so smashed (maybe the defect got enhanced by RUclips's compression though). Doubt that firmware updates would change much. It's good, just not good enough to justify the higher price tag.
Finally... removable lens guards!!! tbh that was the main thing holding me back from getting AP1. Love the wind reduction feature too.
Oof this is a tough choice, but I think that flip screen is a decision maker for me. Much more convenient and user-friendly imo.

@@rpvideos4118 The Osmo 5 green glare is ugly af. that's a big no from me dawg.
@@Bridget.Dg4s What do you mean by green glare? Just that the greens are too bright, harsh, vibrant etc?

Yes, definitely. More coming soon!
DJI looks a bit oversharpened in low light...especially the architecture
Not only in low light. And it seems to prefer faster shutter speeds.

I think Ace pro 2 is better in night than DJI..

@maxzbeta If it was a true, I would buy oa5
almost 25% more expensive for the AP2

Good point. For some FPV pilots, a difference of 30 grams can make a big difference.
As a IRL live streamer (meaning UVC/RTMP mode). What functions will work? Pure Video? Stabilization? Higher resolutions than 1080p30?
And what camera do you use for FPV??
Hey Mike, maybe Im missing something but is Action 5 pro on latest firmware, 01.01.05.20?
The video was shot before the FW update, second test coming soon :)
All these new Action cameras take great video. Good comparison, there isn't a clear winner on video quality. Thanks for sharing Mike.

You need to mount the battery as far back as possible to eliminate jello! That's what solved it for me
Amazing!) What fpv drone are you using in the video?)
It would be nice to see which one takes the best still images, in different lighting scenarios
Hey bro what selfie stick and camera mount are you using in this video?

The sky seriously gotta be fixed by dji 5 pro ASAP
8:18 - Over sharpened OA5 in low light
Newest firmware fixed that, it came couple days ago. Some influencers already had comparisons out.

what camera is that?
Neither because both are made in China by Chinese companies. At least Go Pro is an American company even thiugh it's made in Mexico.
