What a shame the Cosmo is not water proof :( I also only want the camera for vacations or trips with family and friends and to upload them on instagram and so... thinking of getting the GO3S bc im shy about filming and bc I like to have my hands free lol Im scared bc I saw some people complaining about it but I really wanna try, it would be my first small camera, I always used just my phone
I am selling my X3 and swap to X4 if possible. Got Pocket 3 creative combo for B-roll and stabalized footage, it is to a replacement of me bringing a big heavy gimbal while travelling. It's pain in the ass and lower back pain. Pair with a7IV + ZV-1 for photos and videos. Perfect this way.
Really hoping go pro 13 comes up with a 1 inch sensor and 360 cams. Also these companies have to stop yearly releases.. so much bs e-waste with micro updates. Insta360 won me over when they made their 1 inch lenses and of course the 360 cams but their sneaky sponsorships really made me lose respect for them so will be avoiding them.
i think it's really about what you want to use it for, and I really appreciate how he highlighted each camera's highlights and low lights. basically every camera is good for a specific case. unfortunately, there's nothing for everything. I think that's extremely difficult to do currently, and you'd honestly need multiple lenses, like a real camera (vs action cameras, which are the modern point and shoot). that's why all the big influencers eventually get real cameras. ideally mirrorless or even RED. based on what I want to use mine for, recording clients while riding on the mountian, i'm going with x4. I don't need audio really at all and it's difficult to keep clients, esp kids, in the frame when they're behind you on a board. skiing it's a lot easier, but I do both. I also need it to work in the cold. I've fought with gopros more than I've had successful recording time with them. I refuse to use them again. they're very finicky, haven't made any worthy updates, and freeze CoNsTaNtLY in the cold. they also need more editing to look good. I think they're great if you're already planning on doing that editing. i've been using my iphone 13mini, but the battery dies so quickly, I have to have it plugged into a battery pack all day, which is really hard on the battery. I can still use it to airdrop photos and videos at the end of the day, but they'll be better quality. one of my coworkers got the x3 two seasons ago and loved it. he showed it to me a lot last season. most people are only going to be viewing the videos on their phone, maybe computer, or posting on social media. I think Rob gives great explanations of the scenarios when you might choose each. Costco has the x4 "adventure bundle" for 430$ til Christmas, which is $5 more than the camera alone, and the same price as buying the x3 on sale then buying the same accessories (which I do need). but they also have the newest DJI gimble cam and the GoPro hero 12. they're all great packages (and you'd still save more money than buying elsewhere even if you have to get their membership for 65$). I don't believe in brand loyalty. just narrow down what's most important to you and your use scenarios, and after enough research, you'll find the camera that fits it best. a lot of people like the inst360 one RS 1 inch, but it's like $800 on sale for 600 or 560. I hope it becomes the future of action cams too tho! i'm tired of stupid high megapixels without the lenses to utilize those pixels well.

All of the new insta360 cameras have something called freeform video that does exactly that.
