Anything with a negative IRQ count in msi utility is almost certain can run in msi mode, whether the utility shows it as a supported msi mode. I would suggest keeping all priorities to undefined (default), and only change your ethernet/wifi device and your sata/hdd controller to HIGH. This kind of relays back to what @enriquescarano7309 said 2 months ago. Most games now a days are open world or require some sort of shader cache/texture loading through-out the game, so controller and wifi/ethernet drivers need to be highest priority. Microsoft states anything with "undefined" priority, will be given whatever priority the operating system feels best. In most scenario's, gpu set to "undefined" usually defaults the priority to normal or high, which would be equivalent to you just manually changing it to high. Hope this help clear some things up for people in the comments.
Thank you for your comment. I would like you to hear my opinion as well. So I think that this particular setting, like all settings, differs from user to user. In the event that for some users it is better to leave these priorities at default and let windows manage them. However, there are also cases where it is preferable to set the priorities ourselves on the devices we want and see the behavior of the system accordingly.
NVME Express controllers should also be set to high.
Thanks 👍
Can you explain setting up affinities in a video? I've seen you once did it but it's in Greek, and seen the guide but still have some difficulties understanding so a video would be great to make 👍
Old videos is in Greek not in Russian 😢 , about to make a newer video i have already made a guide about this as you know and if you don't understand the guide i don't know how i can help you more . Read carefully the guide and follow the instructions and i think you will be fine .
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS it's fine, i'm sorry for the miscorrection of your language 😄

"Be careful as to what you choose to prioritize. As an example, you will likely stutter in an open-world game that utilizes texture streaming if the GPU IRQ priority is set higher than the storage controller priority. For this reason, you can set all devices to undefined/normal priority" -Amit
You clearly have to know which device you put in this priority, however this depends from computer to computer. In addition, I personally had done some "experiments" on my computer and on friends' computers and I did not experience any of the symptoms you mentioned. The worst that could happen was that I would not see any absolute difference.
Totally agree with you. Safer on undefined 👍
So all devices on undefined?
No. Stutter has nothing to do with it. Your GPU bios sets your GPU IRQ at boot. The rest of devices like Controller Cards request MSI mode at boot, and Windows drivers sets them as such automatically.
Stuttering is your RAM, VRAM, CPU, Bandwidth, and Game Engine problem. Not an interrupt request problem. This does not fix Stutter, it fixes intermittent shared interrupt requests errors.
Thank you! I have as network controller the "Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller" and the irc number is positive and not negative, and the msi box is checked.. Should I uncheck it? I also changed the priority to high
I suggest to test and see ( probably the best is to set all to undefined ) but as I said nothing is sure until you verify it with tests
So i put my Pci express Root Complex the same affinity like my gpu with "Microsoft Interrupt Affinity Tool" but i cant find it in MSI TOOL and i cant put in msi mode ?
if you can't find it and you are 100% sure that is not exist you can't do anything else .
Upon opening MSI mode utility, i get an error: "requested registry access is not allowed"
Did you run it as admin ? If yes i have to ask ....are you in custom windows 10/11 or stock windows 10?
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS Windows 11
Thansk for the video but i mention that you do not you put your disk in msi mode but now you do and also why you dont put audio in msi mode too ?
I don't want to set it to high priority
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS witch one ?
@@kolioludiq9663 i have set in high priority already ( disk ) , i dont want to set it to high priority audio devices.
I have some really old graphics card with high latency do you recommend setting it to msi mode and high priority?
No matter if you have old or new graphics card , however sometimes yes msi mode utility can cause network issues .
As long as your GPU supposts MSI mode, you can test. If it only says "Linebased", don't touch it.
how to fix these network issues from MSI MODE?
Would it really affect gaming peformance if i would set my chipset on high priority?
I can't answer you simply because I can't predict it . Test and see
Doesn't an increased interrupt priority lead to more input delay? I want to keep latency as small as possible 🤔
It's s possibility yes .This tool need tests in order the user to decide which options better for him even if his option is to just not use this tool .
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS thanks for the reply. I will use this tool with caution. 😁👍
Is there an IRQ priority order I need to follow? (For example 1. Disc SSD 2. USB 3. GPU )
I dont getting you very much........can you explain me a little bit better what are you asking me ?
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS
Does the IRQ need to be set in a specific way?
No
set USB 3.1 to high priority and you will be fine :)
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS Ok thanks bro
Hi bro can u help me, when i open device manager my locations sometimes is in numbers like bus 0, etc and other times is in other places like my exprees root doesnt show in msi mode and in my devixe manager shows in another carpet, is there a way to make my root show in msi?
Join to my server open a post in help channel and sent more details and more information because with this explanation I'm not understanding you
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS sorry im not a good english speaker, basically when u did the 2nd step that was setting to.high the Complex PCI root, i cant find It in my msi mode utility, do u know how i can make It be showned?
So you can't find your device in MSI mode utility ?
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS yeah, i cant find the Complex PCI root in my msi, so i was wondering if i can put in It that tool in some sort of way
Man i can't help you if i don't see a picture of device manager of the path of GPU is installed
Can you make your overclock controller more responsive using this ?
Maybe in the future
hi bro do you know how to modify the msi mode utility v3 on the gpu? my gpu is 1660 i have 25 but i would like to set it to -50 do you know how?
I don't think you can choose manually this with MSI mode utility .
Do you know where I could modify it? thanks for answering@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS
I haven't search it man . You can use chat gpt :)
why cant I open it up? it says error
execute it as administrator
Cannot get the v3 file. Only lots of ads.
Then search in google and you will find it
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS Yeah. Found it in the original forum post. Thanks! Maybe update your link for others? Cheers :)
What does it do if I set my Ethernet connection priority to high?
System giving higher priority to the driver of network adapter and in extension theoretically driver has lower latency .
Would that mean it improves my ping etc?
Νo , it's almost impossible to see lower ping
I see
Είσαι Έλληνας:
Ναι :)
how can i reset to default msi ulity 3?
untick them all .
Unticking won’t reset it to the first time you opened MSI utility
You can uninstall the Driver for that device, and or Remove the affected Device from Device Manager (not recommended for GPU, use Display Driver Uninstaller), Reboot, and let windows configure your driver. If you don't know what drivers are, you should not be using this tool.
requested registry access is not allowed what to do
Be more specific, describe your problem with every detail
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS when i launching msi utility i get error "requested registry access is not allowed" and j cant nothing to do in the application
It's the first time that I'm hearing this issue. Are you in custom windows or stock ?

CPU 7600X / GPU 3070 msi already ON by default / priority leave on UNDEFINED after many benchmarks barely any difference probably 0.1% low by 3-4fps and occasionally noticed stutters on HIGH PRIORITY (results may vary on older pc)
As you said it's differ PC by PC . I suppose every user that he want to use this tool he must do many tests with different combinations , otherwise you can't know which is better because some users saying leave it undefined some other high some others don't even use the tool.....
u cappin, coz i had to enable it manually for msi mode so it doesn't come by default

Only High?
If you want to set normal set normal , high priority in devices that you want
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS Why Unchecking Audio Device?
because i don't want to change priority for this device
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS Any other reasons?
no
test these 2 configs
1st
gpu priority = high rest priority = normal
2nd
all priority = undefined
i will make a comparison soon but first i have some other videos that i must prepare
this tool is just crap. I haven't got even half extra fps.
This tool focusing in Latency not to give your more fps...
@@ALCHEMYTWEAKS maybe but that's not what they write in the titles. I have seen many videos about it and they all say "gain extra fps".
