This is one of those little tweaks that i always thought was completely placebo and insignificant, but actually had a very noticeable effect on performance.
I don't know if you'll read my comment or not but I've been following you for quite a while. I have tried out many different videos. Some of them were a bit helpful, most of them weren't (probably because I had a potato pc). Built new PC about a year ago and finally bought Rx6600 (From Gt1030). The biggest problem I was facing was microstutters, and screen tearing in Valorant. I tried multiple AMD optimization videos but they weren't much useful. So I wasn't expecting much from this video anyway. Despite that, I just went ahead and did the renaming part and started a game in Valorant after restarting PC. I couldn't believe that the screen tearing was almost as good as gone! Also, the frametime from Rivatuner was so smooth and silent that I was shocked! There's only occasional small hiccups which I even see in professional streamers video. Previously, the line had too many jitters when I was shooting or suddenly checking map or the scoreboard. But now, all are gone! There's BARELY any stutters. I am truly thankful for this tutorial. Without a doubt it is my most favorite video in this channel.
Just in case it hasn't been stated already, but if you ever do a check disk scan on your system you will most likely have to redo this each time after every scan, as it reverts back to original name & setting for some reason. Been using this little change for a while now & it does provide a noticeable difference, especially when you have more than just a couple of games installed.
@j3m638 Well for me GameBar didn't revert back to its original name after a windows update I did, it recreated the original gamebar and left me with my useless copy of GameBar named "GameBarPresenceWriter12.exe" so I reccomend after each update checking system32 to delete duped .exe's of GameBar
This actually worked!! I cant thank you enough.. Recently I build a highend rig with 4080 super GPU and Ryzen 7800x3d CPU, and when playing Apex Legends I had this annoying stutter, sometimes makinng the game unplayable. I have tried it all to fix it, and no one could help me. This is great, thanks!! I'll follow you because of it.
Followed the first video for a great reduction in stuttering and small FPS gains. This update has totally gotten rid of all stuttering and given a 40 -50 FPS improvement ! i7 8700k @ 5.1Mhz RTX3080 32gig DDR4 3200 The man's a wizard thank you. Applied to both system and registry.
yeah you just don't get that big of an fps gain. At most, basic optimizations you only gain 1-20 fps gain. 40 to 50 and you're just delusional. Either you maxed out your settings that your PC couldn't handle and just turned it down and did this then it would be possible. But in general without changing shit, you're not getting any big improvements but 10 fps or 20 at max. Good try though. Intel fuck boy.

@@plasmahvhusually true. In some games you do need to do some tweaks but that is verh game spesific. The biggest thing is probably nvidia drivers unless you are on pop!_os
@@Anton-ct6ou pop makes it super easy to install them. It has a graphical interface where you can select whichever driver you want (open source/nvidia official/whatever). On the other hand installing nvidia drivers on some other distros require you to download all the required stuff manually and then install it. On some distros you need to disable the desktop environment (?) or something like that. I remember it was a pain in the ass a few years ago. and god forbid if some poor fucker listens to these arch dudes and manages to somehow install arch as a new user. When I play shooter games, my laptop stutters. I did this and tried playing a game that makes my laptop stutter, I havent experienced stuttering in my session. Hopefully it's a permanent fix, Thank you for sharing this fix, massive help.
Is it still working?
For me this method worked thank you so much!
i boosted ark ascendand from 10 fps to 13 huge broo thanks
to all ark players, fps is better if you go outside irl
@@jkeebla i dont have that dlc :(

Thanks!! Great tutorial!
Can't get past the object name to select. E-mail doesn't work!!!! Please advise!
did you find a solution to this? I am having the same issue :(
I have not.
@@VS3D-GameLounge I just figured it out. Instead of using your email. Use the name above the email! It worked perfectly for me. Remember to create a saved state before just in case this method does more harm then good.
Thank you so much it help me so so so much thanks.❤
Going to try this, THANK you anyway
bro is a genius
Mine didn't change at all ...And I even did the 2 processes.. please help
I just got a Lenovo LOQ 15.5 with an Nvidia 4050, a Ryzen 7, 24 gigs of ram and 1T of internal storage. As a replacement for my trusty but old Dell G3. I have stuttering issues when playing games like Nioh 2 or Bloody Spell, even on the lowest settings. On games like Monster Hunter Rise or Street Fighter V I have no issues at all. I playing most of my games from an external hard drive to save on memory but I don't know if that may be causing issues as well.
Thanks, works great 👍
Thank you! It worked for me
It works 🙏 Made my games so much smoother!
Nice and detailed instructions thanks your videos keeps me enjoying my pc keep it up and have a good time love from Qatar
I had same issue In cyberpunk benchmark the FPS dropped every 5 sec from ~100 to 20. I just pinned this gamebar FPS counter to my main screen and FPS change was around 100 fluctuating only +-10 frames. This may be easier fix than messing with registry
hi, do you know what cuases my fps drop down if fortnite from 150fps to 20-30fps?
Unfortunately this didn't work for me when finishing up and renaming gamebar when I type anything it makes a noise every time I press something and I need to restart my pc to get out of it. Any thoughts?
so the issue is that my friends play on Xbox and im on pc so the only way to join a party and talk with them is through the game bar stuff would I still be able to do that with this optimization or does this completely disable the ability to use it?
Also wondering this
Are there any downsides/risks when changing these settings?
Works a charm 🙌
wow dude it's insane this actually fixed my new msi laptop stuttering regularly like clockwork. thanks! and they say windows is the best for gaming... lmao
ps i know ill regret it already, but you made me reinstall overwatch 2 lol
aaaand uninstalled after one match again
@@metasamsara lmfao xD
Game mode, Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling, LOW LATENCY MODE, On or off? Dont want to be using anything that could be adding on to my microstuttering. 5800x, RTX 3080, 32GB RAM
On
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsRuntime\ActivatableClassId\Windows.Gaming.GameBar.PresenceServer.Internal.PresenceWriter
REG LOCATION
Better than before, actually work for me
How do we know that this application has been truly disabled with this process? This exe lives in other folders such as the SysWOW64 folder. Does that mean that we have to do this procedure with all the instances of the presencewriter.exe?
Some of the stuttering went away but its still there, is there any other way to fix this?
Cant you just disable game bar and this isnt needed or is this still effective?
I was about to do same question!
I think the game still requests it so it’s probably worth doing this too
@@runguardian6868 Dude I use iObit software and it allows you to set any 'program' u want to never
run in the background.I fucked around too many times to 'better' my PC to know that sometimes it's just not worth it as the more 'changes' you make, the more chances you'll fuck something up permanently.
@@KUOLEMA_great advice xD same for me 😭
you should do Steam Deck optimizations or Linux. I think that would be huge...
not much to optimize there. it's not windows. if youre struggling to run a game it's because the hardware is too weak
@@plasmahvhusually true. In some games you do need to do some tweaks but that is verh game spesific.
The biggest thing is probably nvidia drivers unless you are on pop!_os
@@mirzu42 whats the difference? i assume pop os uses the same drivers from nvidia.
@@Anton-ct6ou pop makes it super easy to install them. It has a graphical interface where you can select whichever driver you want (open source/nvidia official/whatever). I think it also has some nvidia drivers by default.
It is made to be as easy or even easier to install than on windows.
Getting nvidia to work is almost as hard as installing the system itself.
I think nowadays its easier to get it working with a few commands on terminal atleast on the most popular distros but nothing like pop
@@mirzu42 I mean I installed arch by following a youtube video 2 years ago and it's still going strong. It has its quirks and requires troubleshooting sometimes but I knew that going in. None of the troubleshooting involved nvidia drivers in particular though, mostly stuff not supporting wayland+nvidia together (which has for the most part been addressed now)
Appreciate it tons! Big thanks!♥
Tysm I wasn't expecting it to do much now as much as it didn't make a drastic difference in big games such as fortnite but I have a bad laptop but other smaller games like roblox it ran better then ever so I will definitely be subbing
can attest this actually works, was getting light stuttering and sometimes hard stuttering and so far this worked. im playing AC mirage, NFS unbound, and CP2077 is was getting stuttering. I'll revisit my commit if the stuttering returns but so far everythings buttery! thank you @panjno !!
Is it still working?
@@thevexerw still works!
Liked, commented and subbed! Your videos are always spot on and and easy to follow. Thank you for the quality content.
It would have been nice to have comparison video. But thank it's informative at it's core. Didn't windows 10 had an option to disable this features in the windows settings ?
It did, but what I think was the problem here is that games kept trying to run this file despite it being turned off
thank you man u a GOAT
Resolved my issue, Thank you
Hey Panjo thanks for the info, I tried this for Call OF Duty but it didn't work! I just recently started to noticing some stuttering this week for MW3. Not sure if it was Activisions recent update or a Windows automatic update that did it? I ask around on Reddit and people have complained about the same thing. Is there a way to tell what is making the game stutter or lag? Is it your PC or the game itself!? Can you do a video to help distinguish this?
