  • Cracked Door Trim? Quick Tutorial to remove the Front Door panel and replace the broken trim on a Mercedes Benz E350 2011 Coupe body style c207. Door Panel removal should be the same on 2010, 2012 and 2013. I think it's also the same for the A207 style convertible.

    Thank you for the great video. I replaced the Burl trim on the passenger side of my 2011 A207 Cabriolet. It is airbag equipped and needs to have the “Airbag” cover pried off and have a T25 fastener removed to take the door panel off.

    Oh, by the way: Anyone having difficulty putting the panel back on:
    1. Check advice below on aligning the rubber seal, into which the panel top top tabs fit; and
    2. Check that the orange popper fixtures are all in the slots, in the back of the door panel. When unpoppering it, some of these stay in the door, and you'll not be able to fit the panel back over them neatly. Just prize them out of the door holes, and push them back into the corresponding panel slot positions.

    Vince, The 'how to remove the Mercedes 207 door card video was really helpful, this morning, to get the card off my 2013 (facelift) A207 Cabriolet. Don't know if it is a European model or cabriolet model thing, but there is one more T25 screw, near the top rear of the card, hidden underneath a plastic plug that says "Airbag". Thought this additional note might be handy to your subscribers.

    • @VinceRocca
      @VinceRocca  5 лет назад +2

      I’ve tried a few glues with no real luck. The extreme heat peels it again. This is why I replaced the whole piece in this video. However, since making this video, I’ve removed any peeling trim and left the black plastic background. If you do discover a good glue, please report back.

    Thank you so much for sharing this. Curious how the replacement parts hold up. Hoping they’re not as faulty as the original. I find this absolutely ridiculous that the siding is lifting everywhere in my car and Mercedes will do nothing about it, even though it’s a known problem

      This driver side has held up to this day. However, I since carefully removed all the other peeled wood trim and cleaned the glue off the black plastic behind it. It looks good. No one would know it wasn’t just black trim. Except for the drivers door which I’ve been hoping would peel so I could make it black too. Anyway, my advice today would be don’t replace it, just peel it.

      I don’t remember exactly, but I would have started with Rubbing Alcohol, then denatured alcohol, then maybe lacquer thinner as those are the three staples in my cabinet. I don’t think it was acetone.
