I've owned several types of Benz in America and i did not know ANY of these. I have the E350 now and i can not wait to use all of these. My husband has the SL and i know he's going to love it too! This is extraordinary
Dana...for your hubby see my comment above. I have 2 SLs and there are different ways of doing the 'tunnel' trick. Furthermore, after performing the window opening from outside the car, if he presses and holds the 'unlock' button on his fob again, the roof will retract. Depending on what year his SL is, there are different requirements for this to work. In the r230 model (2009 SL550) you need to have keyless entry and a power trunk. If you have a manual trunk it will not work. You need to hold the fob very close to the square receiver window on the door handle - either door handle will do. Press and hold the unlock for about 5 seconds and the top should begin to open. you will need to continue holding the button until the top is completely down. If you release it prematurely...don't worry, just press and hold again and it will continue where it left off. To close the top, simply press and hold the 'lock' button on the fob in same proximity to the door handle. (NOTE: the square receiver windows can cause this feature not to work because of wax buildups and sensor decay over time. Because of this, the feature may work on one side of the car and not the other. In the r231 model (2013 SL63 AMG) you can open pressing the 'unlock' button on the fob as long as you are within 6 feet of the vehicle (any direction of it - you do not need to point it at the door handle as it is now using radio frequency instead of infrared. If it isn't working in yours, try replacing the fob battery. When the battery gets low, it will still unlock and lock the car, but pressing and holding the buttons renders it useless to preserve battery life. Believe me it seems weird at first, but when I got my 2013 it wouldn't work. I replaced the fob battery and it worked immediately. Good Luck Dana & your hubby!
Surely the purpose of "Tunnel Mode" is to *open* all the windows and sunroof when entering a tunnel. What better way to enjoy that thunderous AMG V8 roar?

Anyone know how to stop all my door locks from opening up when i stop engine and open my driver's door, i just want the drivers door to open not all 4 doors, yr 2000 E55
@@matt7iron Yes, if you set your *key* to only lock/unlock the drivers door it also has the effect you are looking for = when you subsequently drive off, park and open the drivers door, it only unlocks the drivers door. I just tested it on my CLS63, and it works. To set this function on the key, move out of range of the vehicle, press the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously on the key for six seconds until the little red light on the key flashes twice. Let me know if it works for you.
@@charleswildig i forgot to say i been using the emergency Steel key from the Fob since the remote is broken and the dealer wants 350 for a new Fob, i have the 350 but it feels wrong paying 350 for it, so i been using the Key for 6 months now, i will remember what you said when i get my Fob one day.

Do yo have hidden functions for a MERCEDES ML (W164) I got a tip almost nobody knows about. Wen parking the car for lets say 30 minutes for shopping and it is very cold outside, you can press the RES button (engine off!), and the car inside stay's nice warm. I use that function a LOT, and it is just a very nice feature!
I know some people think reading gives you cancer, but if you read the owner's manual (free online in pdf), you'd know not only these 5 notoriously known bits, but also much more about your car.

I hold the keyfob open button when walking to my car, it not only unlocks it but also winds down all the windows, same when locking, keep your finger on the lock button and any windows left open will close
I accidentally found a little button on my Clk 220 cdi,2007 Under the centre arm rest the 2nd section beneath the phone compartment,there are 2 sprung lugs ( which click when you close it down)But directly beneath them is a smaller lug, when depressed the 2 sprung lugs lock. allowing for the armrest to not close fully giving you this second raised position,which is about an inch or so higher,with a much more pleasant driving position, Enjoy!!

I know every one of these, except the trunk floor hinge thing. I always thought that's how Mercedes designed the handle and I have two Mercedes... 2005 C220 and 2007 E420. I do hope I never have to use that feature tho... Cause flats and towing are not fun.

Gary Higbee Thanks for the comments, one or both of the Trunk Separator sensors (one per side) will have failed, they are located behind the taillights. You will need a replacement. As a quick fix, remove the cable and use a piece of wire to bridge the connector. Rememebr to subscribe if you haven't already :)

Hi KillerHERTZ - in my 2001 3 series BMW, I could open the car with my key and the seats would move into memory position 1. When my wife opened with her key, the seats would move into memory position 2. Do you know if the same can be done with Mercedes? I have a GL (X166)

If you push the brake pedal down hard while in drive, say at a stop light, the brake will “hold” until you tap the accelerator.

YOU forgot to mention when you're measuring the oil, the car has to ground has to be level, not on am INCLINE.
