Kushaq's front and taigun back would be a good choice for me.
Taigun is more flashy, got more bling but Kushaq is certainly way more elegant and will age very nicely. You have to see both in person to really understand this. Having said that, it is a matter of personal preference.
It was a tough choice no doubt about it. I went with Skoda Kushaq and have been enjoying the drive.
I loved how the Kushaq came from behind the Taigun to get a cinematic feel!!
Loved the way both Skoda and Volkswagen eventually adapted a product and service to meet the needs of an Indian buyer. It seems a successfully localized service and production which appeared to have been developed within the local customer's portfolio was always in the betterment of its customer.

I went with slightly more ‘executive looking’ Taigun (1.0 Topline MT Silver) - Not an easy decision though !
Just took delivery of Taigun Highline! This car is a beast.
I have taken test drive of both vehicles in 1.0 AT model. I felt engine of Taigun is better tuned and offers a slightly better pick up. Whereas Kushaq has better suspension , I felt less bumps in Kushaq compared to Taigun..
If anyone experienced the same please let me know in replies .. Thanks 🙏🏻
And one more thing both cars offers Tire pressure warning system and not monitoring system.. You will be notified if pressure in tires go below certain level, but it will not show actual pressure in tires. Dear owners please correct me if it’s not the case
Got my taigun gt+ early october, done with 1 month service and 1500+ km in it and loving it so far

I have a soft corner for both Skoda and VW in my heart and I really hope that they stay in India for millenniums to come
I would go with skoda kushaq it’s looks more rough and tough type and it gets the suv looks better than taigun it only misses out digital instruments cluster. But yes skoda simply clever.
If taigun actually provides 21kmpl then it's going to be it's major usp among it's rivals
Skoda Kushaq looks more premium, front look of Taigun is more resembling Polo! So my choice will be Kushaq 😊

Kushaq 1.5 is just madness. No car give us so great pleasure. A go for Skoda.
Atleast skoda offered test drive and presales team were good , however volkswagen didnt even call or offer test drive even after weeks of online registration. Hope the kushaq gets the dashboard from slavia , definitely would make a huge difference.
Also autocar missed about the stiff suspension in volkswagen which may result in varying the top speed numbers.
Well Kushaq is better on features but I prefer Volkswagen for the after sale service. Skoda is expensive. Anyway, Great work Autocar. Been waiting for this for a long time

Kushaq looks more unique than trying to look like same car which you can’t even distinguish which model is it in the vw.
I was very disappointed with the interior of the Taigun. Kushaq feels more plusher. But both the cars should’ve come with at least artificial leather seats for the top models.
Have they fixed the engine EPC issues? AFAIK they replace some fuel pumps but it didn't resolve the issue for a lot of people.

Kushaq for sure, definitely looks a lot better..
I would buy the Polo and save more than 5-6 lakh rupess and with the same 1.0 TSI engine i can beat both of these cars coz the weight saving and aerodynamics.Polo delivers a better value deal than both of these cars in comparo.
Waiting for VW Tiguan fortunately launching on December 7, would be a good and fresh competition to Jeep Compass, XUV700 & Harrier.
Taigun looks more premium 👍
Korean cousins and now German cousins getting into the act now. Stratified and direct injections are the best boons turbo engines can ever get!
If you try to see these two cars side by side, you will realise how similar they are both in the inside and the outside

Ecosport with 1tr ecoboost for 12.5 lks was the better suv than these 17+ . Now a days 1tr turbo petrol cars with 17+ onroad is pathetic. Should have had 1.2 - 1.4ltr turbo for such a price.
Looks like VW is trying so many ways to push sales and build positive vibe for its product which costs an exhorbitant 22 lacs for top end version
However taigun's appearance is more better than the once of kushaq but i went with kushaq just because of one feature ventilated seats. Although it was a tough decision for me.
Yesterday I have booked Skoda kushaq AMT 1.0 TSI style top model orange color. Skoda is very reputed company and Skoda has given their engine and platform to Volkswagen and Skoda kushaq is proven car.And also Skoda maintenance and service is good then Volkswagen. The looks of Skoda kushaq is outstanding then Taigun .I personally refer Skoda kushaq
You should also cover actual city mileage. Petrol certainly isn’t cheap and mileage is also a pillar customer thinks of
If it was With an Diesel on offer it could have been an equal direct competition with creta and seltos... 10kmpl in city mannn now they're mass market cars needs overall performance where mileage can't be neglected in mass market
Vw should launch a 1.5 AT edition below 17 lakhs on road in the ambition variant. Then I will buy it for sure.
Already purchased SKODA kushaq
Kushaq has mass appeal.. and will suit most aspirees
Taigun has selective appeal... will suit the uber class better.
Volkswagen gives terrific safety and awesome driving pleasure but the only issue i found was boot space u uy a 20 lakhs carwith much lesser boot space than your own vento which comes at 14 L.So Family might not prefer this
The test drive vehicle from VW had rattling from its rear and driver side doors, suspension felt more hard and appeared more noisy in cabin.
I felt Kushaq had better suspension and less noisy cabin
I considered both & bought city automatic considering value for money, I felt both are over priced especially for automatic variant
I prefer VW Taigun based on the only difference the Interior
The Skoda looks so much better than the VW
I really hope indian janta gives these a chance. It's about time we upgraded our standards and choice in cars. Enough of the "tin ka dabbas" in the name of status symbol.

If you want top model in manual then go with Kushaq, if you love automatic then Gt plus can be choice.

Well i haVe PURCHASED VW taigun mid version automatic(white colour) after the booking got it within 3 days via the bank loan , the car is overall good in every aspect but only little concern for me is the milege iam not sure how much iam getting per litre , i dont trust the digital range in any car ,i was having swift vdi diseal before ..
Finally taigun is the winner🥳
