I'll give it to you, the cars are awesome, the skills are top notch, and the eclectic taste in vintages is just pure gold (i.e.: the ones that you don't see at every Cruise in, or car show that you go to, such as the Postal Van). I don't want to take any of that away from you because you deserve all props for that. But, the greatest build, BY FAR, is the family you've got there. In these crazy days we are going through, for you to be able to have these kids working with their hands, learning VERY IMPORTANT life skills, and enjoying it, is AMAZING. There is no price that could ever be put on that, it is invaluable. Congratulations to you and your beautiful family and I hope you continue receiving every blessing that you can, because yall definitely deserve every bit of it!
One of the amazing thing of Josh and family is how nothing gets wasted and how many times they can go to a junk pile and find a piece, or modify it, to fit the car they are working on.

When you pour out bolts to search through them, pour them out on an old towel. When you are done searching you pick up the towel by the corners you can easily pour the bolts back in the tub.

Growing up in the 60s and 70s, my father works at the local Ford dealership in a small town in North Carolina. We had several of these for wagons. There were three children. We enjoyed them very much time for vacation with the rear seat. It was great fun spent a lot of time in the mountains of North Carolina Tennessee. Great great car. 11:53

One of my favorite cars from the 60's .. Especially the wagons... So many were driven to death , then crushed .. They were the work horse of the era.. My folks bought a 72 Chevy Suburban (Carry-all) and with 5 kids , it was necessary... My favorite growing up was a brand new 78 Chevy Suburban . It had a big block & all the bells & whistles.. That same year my folks bough a bumper pull camper .. One trip from Tenn to Az. my dad kept track of the mpg...(we had a lot of family in Scottsdale) And griped the entire trip... Couple years later my dad wanted to go again... My mom said on one condition... No checking the mpg or griping about the mpg... He agreed , then promptly checked every tank & complained the whole trip...
Oh man was going to take my 63 Wagon to the 1st 2 or 3 days of Power Tour but I'm way behind. Now I'll have to see if I can get it done so we can get up a "Wagon Train" 😂

I am so glad to see all the progress you folks have made on this vintage Ford Wagon. A whole lot of work is now paying off with a very roadworthy car. My former brother in law had a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible in red with a white top, 352 V8, three speed column shifter like your wagon had and no power steering or power brakes. That car was a " ripper" too , but hard to steer at slow speeds. Perhaps you might consider power steering for your wagon at some future date. Since I am a Ford Wagon guy I really appreciate your determination to save this wagon.

On the old window regulators save them just in case you can drill them out and find a type of bushing that would work in the tracks if the others break.

Josh, needle nose pliers work way better than wire cutters on those old cotter pins.. i promise you they wont snap off as easy. Grab them with the needle nose, bend straight, then grab the eye, and tap the pliers with a small ball peen hammer. Tap it, just tap it out.. go.. go out of your hole.. adam sandler

Josh, needle nose pliers work way better than wire cutters on those old cotter pins.. i promise you they wont snap off as easy. Grab them with the needle nose, bend straight, then grab the eye, and tap the pliers with a small ball peen hammer. Tap it, just tap it out.. go.. go out of your hole.. adam sandler
For the bumper bolts I bought stainless carriage bolts. If you polish them they look almost like chrome and no rust.
