I saw another video on a different channel that said a longer middle third was masculine but the way you described a longer middle third being elegant and how is not good or bad but rather just different is so nice to hear because our society tends to be obsessed with neotenous features.
It's not a bad thing to have a longer middle third! I think it gives a person such a beautiful look. I agree that it's so sad our society pushes for neoteny - not only in North American standards of beauty but also in Asian beauty standards especially. It's almost like people have weird fetishes about super youthful faces... it's uncomfortable!!
@@sarahs.9678How? Just take what's trendy nowadays and what was trendy some decades ago. So mentioning the elegance of a longer middle third, I always struggle with styles and makeup because I can easily make myself look 'elegant' with my features, but sometimes, I want to be 'cute' instead. I would love a video that talks about pushing mature looking features to be more youthful.
It would be interesting if you did a video for older women, and how hairstyles might need to change from the styles we were accustomed to wearing in our 20’s and 30’s vs. 50’s and 60’s.
OMG are you even human? How can you pack this much knowledge in your videos? I’m gonna tell you right now, your channel is going to get massive! So helpful! Wow!
I love how you break everything down so specifically in all of your videos. It totally appeals to the way I think and overanalyze things, haha. But it also helps me understand why certain things that maybe "should" work in a general sense, won't work on a specific person because of another feature.
WOW! You are amazing with the visual explanations! I never considered the slope of the head towards the forehead or the forehead size. Additionally, your assessment of the differences between facial features and proportions, along with your verbal expressions about how those differences are perceived should become the "gold standard" of how we communicate about ourselves and each other!
Loved this video, my face is small and i have a short nose. Ppl would compliment me a lot when wearing middle parted hair and tell me I look like a princess.
recently I changed from a middle part to a part only 1cm off from the middle and it makes a difference! my forehead and middle third are about the same, but something else to take into consideration is cowlicks and asymmetries.
These are fascinating! I know you look at the whole face, but is there anything you would generally recommend for a weak chin and/or jowly jawline? I'd love to know about the relationship between bangs and facial fat/ width.
Thanks for your interest in my content! Yes you're right - I'd need to look at the whole face to make an accurate recommendation, but generally speaking if you have a wider face I wouldn't recommend blunt bangs because covering your forehead reduces the vertical length of your face and can make your face appear wider. If you want to work with bangs, thinner styles of curtain bangs or side-swept bangs that expose some part of your forehead would be more ideal. As for a weak chin, my next video might help! I'm going to talk about long/protruding chins and the visual effect of hair colour on the chin, so I think you'll find it helpful.
This is the video for me 😊 I have a diamond face but it's also wide. I always struggle with my parting. I tend to look bad with side bangs or hair in my face because the jaw and chin are subtle and forehead so small and cheeks so wide
When my hair is curly(99% of the time) I always wear it with a side part. It just looks better. But when its straightened I have a middle part(but with the front pieces tucked behind my ears) as it looks better then
You make excellent sense with your advice. But I also think that the symmetry of the face is an important consideration. For the average person (rather than models, actors and other "beautiful" people of your examples, the right and left sides of the face aren't symmetrical, and a side part looks better. I find a middle part highlights any flaws in the face and can make people look worse.

My longest bit is the forehead. Middle third and nose to chin are equal, but forehead is longer. I've always had a side part but recently my hair just sits better in the middle.
I totally agree i have shorter forehead when i do middle parting my forhead look even more shorter but just a slighter change (put one side behind ear) will literally change whole look........ Before i wanted to slay the look with both side hair down😅😅😅.. But yeah that's not for me.....😊
In the end it all comes down to preference for sure. And you're not alone! High cranial top is actually considered a very desirable trait in modern Asian beauty and if you google "high cranial top" you'll see what I mean!

The thing is, there really isn't a need to "fit" into a category because the combination of all your features is what is unique to you ❤ Adding root / crown volume is a MUST for low cranial tops, whether with a side or a middle part!
@@stylerefinement I apologise for being pain in the...derrière, but I have to ask this: having an oblong face, it looks even more elongated if I make my hair voluminous on the top. Hello ! I have the same face shape as Madison Beer, but I cannot tellif she has bigger foreheqd or bigger middle part, so which hairstyle can suit me the most^^
Generally speaking if the length of the face is about 1.6 times greater than the width of the face it's considered the most balanced. So if your width to length ratio is 1:1.5 for example then technically your face would be considered short (or wide, since we're talking in proportions between width and length) and vice versa!
