Instant Pot Spanish Rice Recipe! | Cook With Me

  • Spanish rice is super easy to make in the Instant Pot! This Spanish rice recipe has an authentic restaurant-style taste. If you love Spanish rice you'll love this recipe! ♥
    For this video, I made the Spanish rice in my 3 qt. Instant Pot. I have a 6 qt. as well and this recipe will work in either one.

    INSTANT POT SPANISH RICE:
    2 Tbs lard
    2 cups jasmine rice
    2 ½ cups water or chicken stock
    ½ tsp each of salt and chicken bouillon OR 1 tsp salt if you use chicken stock.
    2 Tbs tomatoe paste
    2 pinches oregano
    1 ½ tsp minced garlic
    OPTIONAL ~ 2 Tbs each diced white onion and green bell pepper
    1. Saute the rice in 2 tbs lard until lightly browned.
    2. Meanwhile combine water, tomato paste, garlic, salt, chicken bouillon, and oregano.
    3. Add peppers and onions to the pot and saute until slightly soft.
    4. Turn off the Instant Pot.
    5. Slowly pour the water mixture into the pot. Be careful it will sizzle and splatter!
    6. Push any rice that is stuck to the sides of the pot, down under the water.
    7. Put the lid on, turn the valve to sealing and push the rice setting button.
    8. Do a quick pressure release, fluff rice with a fork.
    Serve immediately!

    I always wanted to make this rice, it reminds me of my work place when we had potlucks I always asked my director to bring this rice n would take some home.

    What are the ingredients that go in the rice? How long do you cook the rice? I am totally blind, and my phone speaks to me but there is no talking with the music. I would very much appreciate somebody getting back to me.

      Hello Barbara! I am so glad you reached out and I am happy to help! I'll do my best to relay the recipe and directions to you. If you have any more questions afterward, please don't hesitate to ask! First, saute 1 cup jasmine rice in 1 tablespoon lard or vegetable oil, until it starts to brown. About 5 minutes. At this point you can add diced green pepper if you like and saute just until soft. One to two minutes. While the rice is browning, in a separate bowl, combine 1 1/4 cup water, 1 tablespoon tomatoe paste, 1 heaping teaspoon of minced garlic, 1 pinch of oregano, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon chicken powder. Mix well. When your rice has browned slightly, turn off your Instant pot and slowly pour the water and tomatoe paste mixture over the hot sauted rice. Be careful! It will bubble and splatter so pour slowly! Give it a stir. Put your instant pot lid on and move the valve to sealing. Push the rice button and it will cook it automatically! When your Instant pot beeps, release the pressure immediately. Remove the lid and fluff with a fork. Enjoy!

      Right and from what I've heard from people that are familiar with making Spanish rice they said this isn't Spanish rice. Lol

    It’s not really Spanish rice . Only part is that u put tomato into for color but it’s not Spanish it’s your rice yea for sure!
