Please keep the HERD updated on this poor girl
Yes indeed, future re check ❤️🐄
Deffo an update would be nice 😊
I’ve been part of the Herd for almost three years. I thought, “That’s toe necrosis” from the first nip!
us couch trimmers have made huge progress during these years, all without the smell and gunk 😂😂😂😅😅😅😅
My thoughts exactly.
" Couch trimmers" 😂😂 @@mobilfone2234
At first I thought it was "Toenecrosis" (one word).. lol😅
I didn’t cry, but I definitely cringed for the poor cow. I’m so glad that someone like you was there to help her.
Yes, this one is really ugly.
I am starting my first hoof trimming job tomorrow so thank you so much for everything you have taught me.
All the best
All the best to you as you start off your career as a hoof trimmer - I imagine it will be great to be able to keep referring to Hoof GP material as you continue to gain experience.
Thank you
How did your first day go?
@@carrieblack1703 great alot more cows than I thought it would be but very interesting
I’d be royally ticked if I was her owner that someone who was supposed to be taking care of my cow would let her get into that state.
Yeah, those were my thoughts too. I'd not be at all happy
Right? You were supposed to winter her, not neglect her?!
Makes me wonder who has to cover the trimming/vet bills when stuff like this happens.
Wouldn’t send my cows there ever again 👎
I hope the hoof recovers from being neglected!
I would be pissed if i got my healthy cow back with hoofs like that!
Please keep us posted on her progress during healing❤
Exactly my thoughs
Are cows sometimes rented out?
@@ShaunHensley I'm an iowa farm girl and I've never heard of a cow rental before but I know bulls are used as studs and often go to other farms to breed cows
@@ShaunHensley think it is more a case of land being scarce so the farmer rented land to board his cattle Dad did that once but didn’t like the cattle not being in his view

I am so happy for you that your glue is making you money. You deserve it having worked so hard and the fact that you care. Hugs x
Hey everyone, we ordered a T-shirt and got it today, delivery was quick to Australia Melbourne, thank you, 💙 watching your work
My dad worked for a company installing and building a system of fans and misters that were installed at dairies to help keep the cows cool. Company's slogan was "We Cool Your Dairy Air" i cant remember the name of the company. I used to go on trips with him to dairies that were farther away meaning er got to stay in a hotel and road tripped. I never once thought about the cows needing their hooves trimmed.
Yes..we also trim hooves on sheep, goats and alpaca.
Poor girl. I am one of those farm moms who treats their 1,200 lb babies the same as the ones who come into the house with me at night. This poor baby girl needs some love. Thank God for good farriers. A good farrier is worth their weight in gold and most farmers know it!!!
Absolutely
Graeme she is so fortunate to have you helping her regain comfort. Next time would you please show us her face?
Amen to that
He can only show her face if she consents. We don’t want her to start the moo-too movement And get Graham canceled.

I smiled at your comment about your nippers. Some men develop deep attachments to the tools of their trade. If someone ever asked to borrow my late husband's pliers, they were always told to remember to bring them back, as he'd had them "longer than he'd had any woman."
Every time I watch these all I can think about is how good it must feel for the cows to get rid of something that's probably been bothering them for weeks but they can't get rid of it themselves.

You should get a vet to administer an antibiotic called tilmicosin to cows with toe necrosis. Works incredible. Worth the long witholding period. Some research starting to show up soon on this treatment.

As a Canadian in northern Ontario, I do not know a lot about cows. Thank you so much for educating me and I love your videos!🥰🐂🐮🐄
It really doesn’t matter what you do, does it, if you do something well, people will flock to you.
And you sir are clearly a master at what you do. I’ve watched all your videos, and smile every time I see a new one come out. THANK YOU for sharing your skills with the world.
I've never lived on or near a farm. I have no knowledge of how to care for livestock. Regardless, I will never stop watching this content and learning anyway. Hoof trimming GOAT. 🐐🐮❤🤟
You are providing relief to so many unfortunate animals. Have you ever considered posting a follow-up video of some of the cows you have treated? I would love to see them after they are healed.

I am so glad the cows have you to take care of these problems, giving them their best chance at a good life.
I just love the authentic concern for the animal HGP always shows.
I live in Wisconsin, USA. Surrounded by cows (the Dairy state and all…) I have learned more from the HGP, than all my time here. Such great info, and care of these awesome animals. Thank you Grahame and Team! ❤
If I was the farmer I’d be demanding answers as to why my cow wasn’t taken care of and demanding the cost of the care of the sick foot to be paid by the one who allowed it to get like that!
The farmer allowed it to get like that 99% of farmer trim there cows hooves and only call him when they have such problems occur

I don't know who's negligence it was but either way it was neglect. If someone was suppose to watch over them during the winter it may have gone unnoticed or someone didn't care enough to pay attention to this poor cow and it's herd. There could of been more in need of a trimming but this was the worst of them. Thank you Graeme for your caring touch and for getting this cow on it's way to recovery. That poor baby girl. I call you 3 my guys to my family and friends. Loved seeing your face while trimming her. Looks just like me while your trimming. I REALLY WANT TO LOCALLY FIND A HOOF TRIMMER BUT DON'T HAVE THE FIRST CLUE HOW TO. Have wanted to trim since I seen the help and relief you give these beautiful animals.
Just google local farrier schools in your area. Most states have one or two and you will sometimes find a farrier supply store (usually multiple in a state that has any farms) and that would also be a place to speak to people and get leads on farriers who are currently working and in what areas they are working. Any old school grainery usually delivers large amounts of feed to farms of all kinds and would be a place to ask around. I know everyone at my grain elevator including the owners and the owners son went to high school with my car mechanic. . . .it's how small towns work - we all know each other and who does what and who has extra from their garden to who has extra sheep. I know which farrier each one of my neighbors use and half of us schedule at the same time with the same person so he makes only one trip. Any cattle shows at your state fairgrounds would also be a place to meet people, like a state cattle expo would even have classes on hoof care, but a farrier would be on staff and people are happy to discuss the care of the cattle they bring to show off.
Heartbreaking. Thank Godness Graham is doing all he can for her. 😢

Hi Graeme, and Kevin and Craig and Robby
The poor thing. I hope she heals well and complete 1st time around.
Hi Graeme. I just saw a trimmer doing a terrible job. He was causing the cow real pain but said he wasn't hurting her. He hacked at her hoof and made her bleed. It was heartbreaking to see this. What's worse is knowing that he will work on other cows and continue to cause pain.
Poor cow. I’m happy you were able to help her.❤❤❤
Fantastic job Graham 👏 👍 👌
Wow! That one was bad. These cows really need you and th guys, Graeme. Well done!

That hoof trim was soooo satisfying. 🐮👍
I hope the farmer that owns this cow gives the one who was "caring" for her an earful! This is terrible! Thank you for helping her Graham!
If you are going to have animals no matter how many or for what reason, you must make their lives the best it can be.
Please keep us posted.
It’s great to see this animal helped like this. I can’t imagine how the cow felt standing on that toe. Side note, I did have to chuckle at the video title… Rotten cow’s toe? Oh wait I get it… Cow’s rotten toe. 😄
Poor baby. Thanks for helping her.
Nice, I Hope She Gets Better Soon 🙏
I'm surprised that the overwintering farmer let her get that bad. Not only is it bad for the cow, nobody is going to want to leave their animals with him or her if they're neglected in care. From what you said, it sounds like had the initial crack been found sooner, this never would have happened. It just sounds like bad business practice for the overwinter-er.
Most people aren’t understanding the realities of animal husbandry. A single hoof out of a herd of cows being wintered is hardly worth anyone’s attentions. It gets really wintery in some of these areas (think Montana). You put out feed and let them roam for weeks and months. These are livestock, not pets. Some die, some get sick, some get bad hooves. Most turn out all right. It’s life on a farm.
@@GlamGam1964 you should not work with animals of any kind if you think like this. Livestock or not they are living breathing creatures that feel pain. Plus if your livestock are healthy and happy then they produce better product be it milk or meat. So if you notice one animal has something wrong yes it is worth the time to get it checked. If you pay attention hoof gp regularly goes somewhere because of a single cow or bull. There are several vets on youtube that regularly go to farms for a problem with a single animal.
Oh I do like to see armchair warriors opinions.. Never been near livestock but have all the answers.. Try getting off your are and putting some hours into looking after this beasts. Some roam and will not come in even through winter.. Morons need a wake up call. Grow up.
@@briannahudson6329do you think about all this when you sink your teeth into a burger? How about a tender steak?
When push comes to shove, these cows mean cash, which means they deal in volume. As a result, minor issues tend to be overlooked until they become major issues.
It’s just the nature of agribusiness, emphasis on BUSINESS at the end of the day.
@@Trix897 absolutely I do think about this when eating any meat. It's why I'm careful about where my meat comes from. Plus happy animals produce better meat in quality, taste and quantity. And as someone who has lived on farms and worked with many different people who raise animals for food health happy animals while they were alive was always a priority. And nipping a problem in the bud when it's small before it becomes major like this was always something I and any other farmer I knew worried about. It costs more to fix a big problem than a little one so you stop it from becoming big. And even if you personally don't give a crap about animals suffering (which means you shouldn't be in any kind of animal business or around any animals of any kind) when you are being paid to take care of someone else's animals it's your responsibility to care for them to the highest possible standard meaning you take care of the small problems, like the cow that is slightly lame because it has a cracked hoof before it gets to the point of their anatomy changing and their bones literally rotting inside their bodies.
Oh...first?
Never happend bevore.
Hello everybody, hope you have a nice day. And I hope, the lady is getting better and healed soon
Nope not even close, FOURTEENTH and the THIRD FALSE FIRST POSER 😆😅🤣
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊😊😊
Why other farmer didn't get it trimmed for the owner?
I would think he should have at least notified the owner. The owner shouldn’t be charged for housing this cow if not also receiving damages for allowing the cow to be permanently hurt.
@@terriv9002 you make a good point but I'm saying since it was in care of the other farmer why he/she didn't get hoof trimmed? I would've asked owner if to get it trimmed and if owner says yes I would go ahead with it and get owner to pay if a professional did the trim.
@@db7059 I agree, but there was no way the owner would know about the problem if not informed.

This poor girl!! I pray she heals quickly!!
I live in the western US. It’s dry here 90% of the year. Are some of these issues caused by wet muddy ground? Our soil is also rocky. So I guess we would have our own type of hoof issues here.
Yes, the wet softens the hoof and skin which makes it easier for minor knocks to create an opening for the bacteria to get in. It doesn't take very long for the infection to take hold.
If I was the farmer I would be ensuring that my cows are being taken care of properly. There my cows, its my responsibility...
You guys do an incredible job, 10/10!
What do you do if both hooves are in bad shape and neither can support a block?
