I have to admit .. here we have two of my favorite car people. Both are capable to spot all the little things.. the passionately placed mod's that complete the magic . Jay says.. 'it's like driving an orchestra !' I can't begin to say how deeply I appreciate Magnus ! Jays eyes, brain and mouth move fast yet Magnus is way ahead, focused intimately upon his project, always ready to offer to move-on to the next phase of the car's magic. His ability to foresee the magic of the hand falling upon a drilled door handle, and his composure to openly share that for him it means something big to have that bell bling off each time one touches the handle, and the mind says.. I remember thinking that would be cool.. lets do that ! I've been freed so to speak by Magnus sharing the joy and excitement of letting the sprite of design speak thru each of us and how practicing that in our car builds adds a hung amount of artistic freedom thru out the rest of our life experiences. My huge thanks and appreciation to these two wildcards !
Magnus lives in downtown LA in the Arts District. He's got an amazing loft and garage. His wife is drop dead gorgeous. I see him at Urth Cafe at the corner of Hewitt and E 5th. For all you who're trying to figure this guy out, he's just one of the bohemian types that occupy the old warehouse area of DTLA. Lots of indie film companies, designers, musicians, actors, etc all live in the area.
"Figure this guy out?" Who? All the moron's who simply cannot comprehend that Magnus exercising his freedom of self expression goes hand in hand with his whole persona as a clothing designer and Iconoclast and Porsche enthusiast. Personally i wish Magnus all the luck and good fortune due him and his wife. I'm no more afraid of getting Cooties from Magnus than Jay seems to be. Porsche's of the vintage favored by Walker, Singer, Sharkworks, et al are pricy enough without a revamp by one of these outfits. Don't know about Magnus price points for his "personalized" cars but i'm not a retired F1 driver who demands the level of precision and refinement present in a Singer at the bargain sum of $250K and up. No doubt they are awesome, fine tuned and detailed machines but i just haven't the money to aquire a sought after early vintage 911. Let alone one that's been "reimagined" by one of these "boutique" "tuners?" If that's the correct term?
@@gregorytimmons4777 are you sure you know the meaning of 'the word 'iconoclast''? it doesn't match very well with ''Porsche enthusiast'' being that a car icon.
Magnus sounds like he knows his stuff when it comes to Porsche features and packages. It seems to me that his art and genius are not in the large changes/mods, but in the small details. For example seen here, the door handles, rear bonnet lid, the front and rear turn signal lens assemblies, the quarter and door glass, the internal and external mirrors, the battery compartment, instrument panel, the floorboards, etc. It's like a master interior decorator for automobiles.
What a sweet machine! I love this car and I love the look on Jay's face when he's driving that thing around. You can tell he's just purely enjoying the experience and mad props to Magnus for building such a beautiful piece of 911 engineering.
I just recently acquired another used 911 after selling my first one 18 years ago. I missed it. Bad. You really do drive these cars differently than a normal car. And yes, you do bond with them. This is a special example, lovingly restored with money no object. But all 911s feel somewhat the same. I've had Detroit iron (Mustang), Japanese (RX-7 twin turbo), German luxury (Mercedes AMG) and the 911 stands head-and-shoulders above all of them. It really is the best car to drive, every day. I smile a lot.
love the fact that Jay is a normal guy when it comes to cars. and also love the fact that hes got to touch the cars haha. jay is the man, if only his show was better
Jay, i always liked you as a comic and tv host. But you are a brilliant car guy. What i love about your videos is the obvious passion and joy you derive from cars. Good on you man.
Oh yes I am 67 years old and I remember you back when you visited Johnny Carson as a Stand Up Comedian lol. "Good Ole Days!" You always loved cars....:-)
Geez Jay, we all know you love to talk, not for nothin man, can you let Magnus finish talkin before you butt in, Loved the video still, but hey, somebody had to say it.
Not anything alike but 2 of my favorite car people. Magnus has some killer video's. That Blue Turbo of his gurgling off the walls of those tunnels that he drives through. Man I could be dying and hear that and it would bring me back to life. Just yell Clear, and put the head phones on.
GREAT PIECE, JAY!!! MAN, I REALLY LOVE M.WALKER'S 911'S. PLEASE HAVE HIM BACK FOR SOME MORE EPISODES. MAYBE WE CAN WATCH HIM IN THE PROCESS OF PERSONALIZING HIS 911 TURBO. NICE EPISODE AND GREAT RUclips CHANNEL. MANY, MANY THANKS FROM THIS CALIFORNIA DREAMING NEW JERSEYAN.
This is the quint essential car guy conversation. Notice how Jay and Magnus take ques from each other, without the usual weirdness Jay hits his guest's with. Fantastic conversation. It's not that Jay is weird outright, but his guest's usually have some sort of agenda they are trying to push, and Jay slices through that like a hot knife. None of that hear. Great stuff.
You are right. I think Magnus is great and also very good at marketing himself. As a PCA member, I can tell you that he hasn't done anything that you cannot do yourself. There is a little bit of fabricating involved and it is well done, but for the most part it's just a bunch of aftermarket parts thrown together. You could buy an early 70's 911 that needs a little love for $30K and spend another $30K and get the same results, if you are willing to work on it yourself for the most part, of course. But hey, he found a niche, good for him.
Olivier Prevot It was valued at 80 grand according to Fifth Gear. I doubt that was their figure though. I'm sure that was Magnus's own estimation. But you aren't far off.
***** But don't you think the Singer is hard to justify? Yes, the "STR" sold for nearly three hundred grand; but according to one of the guys at singer, their cars sell for "as low as high threes". Magnus's car by the way really only fetched as much as it did because it was, well, Magnus's. You could realistically build something like his car for Cayman money.
Im telling ya he builds a better car than singer, and for like 100,000 less! Singers a beautiful but there more like an assembly line operation were as magnus is on one car for a while. I dont know? Its opinion but id rather have the urban outlaw build me one!
Stunning looking and sounding 911! It's perfect. Personally I want a RUF 935, but this car is a close second in the Porsches i want list. It's actually tied for second with the late 90's 911 GT1 Road Car.
He really put together a terrific car. Nice & light, gorgeous interior. I'll bet the steering feel is a delight. He's really captured what a porsche is all about
Seven years ago they were expensive. Now, in 2021, they’re unobtainable for the common man. 997 seems like the sweet spot for best bang per buck right now. Hell, even 944s are going up like crazy.
I only recently subscribed, and 2 days ago I found out you also do a show on TV - shows that you can be good at presenting 2 ways and thus attract 2 kinds of people to your content. I personally hate how channels ruin good programs, atleast that's not the case here. Cheers Jay.
Jay you mentioned Cannonball Run in your "1986 Lamborghini Countach" video. We all have that one car we just can't get enough of, the one car we would have over any other for that unknown reason, for me, that car is a Mitsubishi Starion. If it means anything, it would mean a great deal to me and hopefully lots of your other viewers for you to do a video on this car. PLEASE ANYONE ELSE WHO WOULD ENJOY SEEING THIS, LIKE THIS COMMENT.
Magnus is such an awesome guy! I love seeing him in videos. I hope to meet him one day. I found out he was in Minneapolis after the fact, I would have made that event if I had known. Too bad about his wreck there.
I love that he does not do commercials on RUclips. Thank you Jay for sharing your garage and show.

Porsche is one of my favorite automobile manufacturers. Just beautiful
I own just porsches hhh
Greetings from Germany.
Herr Benaissa man, that’s a real blessing.

@Syndrome of a Down how he get money like this man
Blah blah blah

spiritual cramp love it when people try to sound smart with words that don’t quite understand- or mispronounce attempting to be smart .
The 911 is a great car, love the colors of this one!
jay leno this has to be the best show on youtube...true car guy. i admire you. god bless you jay !
i love the fact he's like a hippy rock guy and can make something as beautiful as this porsche.
great vision!

what's it like being the ONLY person who feels this way? This guy is effing awesome.
What a beauty! I really admire all modifications this guy has done.
I did watch his film after J's first video . He is a ,genuine Porsche passionate guy . He ignites that love for cars with his art .
As an owner of a 996 C2 cabriolet I still have an appreciation for the air cooled early 911s. They are gorgeous and simplicity at it's most sublime.
Magnus is such an awesome guy, love everything he does to these cars
I just recently acquired another used 911 after selling my first one 18 years ago. I missed it. Bad. You really do drive these cars differently than a normal car. And yes, you do bond with them. One of if not the most beautiful custom 911's. Stance is just perfection.
that engine sounds absolutely amazing. who needs a radio when youve got 6 horizontally opposed speakers in the engine compartment. a beautiful melody
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this - I wish I could give it more than 1 thumbs up!!
I had a 1/24th scale slot car that looked a lot like this car, what a sweet car, wish I still had that car. This is a great looking car!
The guy looks like a boss
Dig through the ditches, burn through the witches in the back of my Dragula....oh wait, that's not Rob Zombie
That song should be on continuous repeat (in cassette tape) in this car.
I love Max because he loves to drive the hell out of his cars and he loves others driving his cars. He shares his cars
I'm really falling for classic 911's. Just lovely.
Are you kidding me? This car is beautiful!
I love the little touches he adds to his cars. For something so small it makes a huge difference in the look.
my future
Porsche 911
will be
oh my
bought in
Germany with
zero miles,
and shipped
over here
with me
and Jay Leno,
smiling, our
laughs together
This guy really knows what he is doing all his cars are perfect.
Love this car. No nonsense and beautiful.
Magnus has an interesting style. He definitely knows Porsche's and has a passion for them.
Good for him for parleying it into a living.
I’m all in for Porsche passion
love the fact that Jay is a normal guy when it comes to cars. and also love the fact that hes got to touch the cars haha. jay is the man, if only his show was better

What i love about your videos is the obvious passion and joy you derive from cars. Good on you man.
2 of the coolest guys of 2012/2013!
...and for sure, what a nice Porsche!!!
Cleanest Porsche ever! Magnus is no doubt porsche's #1 fan.
This is what cars are all about! Light weight moderate power quick driving!
Magnus Walker! What a great guy this guy is! So down to earth and what a great collection of magnificent porsches he owns!✌😎👍
Not anything alike but 2 of my favorite car people. Magnus has some killer video's. That Blue Turbo of his gurgling off the walls of those tunnels that he drives through. Man I could be dying and hear that and it would bring me back to life. Just yell Clear, and put the head phones on.
Jay Leno is smiling a lot because of that car :)
I love that guy! Since you had him in first time i've seen he's film twice!
magnus is really a man who does everything right. i think this is not a modified porsche anymore - it became a higher form - now its pure art.
Jeeezzuuuss this car. Looks incredible, yes bumpers, stripes, and all. This is like the metal Van Halen party version of the 911, and I love it.
i really like his episodes when he's on here. i wish they were longer with more of his cars, but thats the standard time for these.
Wow what beautiful car!!!! Smashin....
The driving part of this session is even better than the F40. I Love to see Jay Impressed!
sir Magnus your car is the reflection of who you are. love your work sir.
This video made me happy. Warm, happy feeling. I LOVE cars. I ADORE 911's.
Oh my god that's beautiful I can't even put it to words
GREAT PIECE, JAY!!! MAN, I REALLY LOVE M.WALKER'S 911'S. PLEASE HAVE HIM BACK FOR SOME MORE EPISODES. MAYBE WE CAN WATCH HIM IN THE PROCESS OF PERSONALIZING HIS 911 TURBO. NICE EPISODE AND GREAT RUclips CHANNEL. MANY, MANY THANKS FROM THIS CALIFORNIA DREAMING NEW JERSEYAN.
oh, Jay, you just put a smile on my face with your presentation!

Jay smiling when driving that car is priceless
Seven days seemed like forever. Thanks for the new video.
The car in this vid went for $275,000 at auction. I would rather buy a Singer. But this guy has done amazing PR for himself.
You are right. I think Magnus is great and also very good at marketing himself. As a PCA member, I can tell you that he hasn't done anything that you cannot do yourself. UGH! so many 911's so little money. True Love.
Stunning looking and sounding 911! It's perfect. Personally I want a RUF 935, but this car is a close second in the Porsches i want list. It's actually tied for second with the late 90's 911 GT1 Road Car.
you could do so much more with that car, the front bumper is killing it.
I love this show Jay does, and to see one of my favorite car guys magnus walker with my favorite car, I just enjoyed this video
I suspect that the 911R was inspired by these outlaw Porsche owners.
One of the best looking custom 911 I have seen!
Stunning workmanship, colorful dude, lol. The interior is stunning.
He really put together a terrific car. Nice & light, gorgeous interior. I'll bet the steering feel is a delight. He's really captured what a porsche is all about
Jay had a huge smile on his face the entire drive.
i know it. hes not some mightier than thou car guy, he shares his passion with the world. which i have much respect for.
Once again...over the top....love the vibe....true spirit....
I watched his documentary awhile ago, this guy is a Badass!
This guys know what he is talking about. Jay looks like young boy listening old, experienced Porsche guy.
I never have liked classic Porsches, but this one is nice.
I love the cleanness and the look
The bearded guy defies statistics and stereotypes
solid episode Jay, Magnus is a huge Idol of mine since seeing him on your show. What an artist.
The most brilliant reinterpretation of any car at any point in history. I wish I could afford one.
Seven years ago they were expensive. Now, in 2021, they’re unobtainable for the common man. 997 seems like the sweet spot for best bang per buck right now. Hell, even 944s are going up like crazy.
That car has allot of personal style and is sick. Dope car!
i love that guys style it appeals to me a whole lot i love race inspired street cars that are street friendly
Thanks for another great show Jay! You and Magnus rock....
When he says a lot of factories, he totally meant Ferrari.
Magnus is a cool guy, and he's customized his own appearance much like his cars. The Porsche is great!
This car is incredible.
...my signature touches...
Its nice to see a pure car show
Awesome Jay. Thank you for producing this. I really like Magnus' work, this one especially.
+1 for the Brumos love with the tag frame!
Legendary dealership.

Love Magnus and his builds.
Seems like Jay really had fun driving this one! Cheers.
Magnus is such an awesome guy! I love seeing him in videos. I hope to meet him one day. I found out he was in Minneapolis after the fact, I would have made that event if I had known. Too bad about his wreck there.
