- This is the documentary that put me out there. Tamir Moscovici's film Urban Outlaw tells the story of how I came to America as a teenager and wound up building my own style of Porsches in downtown Los Angeles.

Yup 2024
The smell, the feel of a Porsche is like a true antidepressant. Once I’m in the cabin I’m completely blissed out and in utter admiration.
My dad passed Sunday of memorial weekend... he was diagnosed with cancer about 5 weeks prior and lost a very quick battle with it. It was all so sudden that it doesn’t seem real. The reason I’m putting that out here is he had “Porsche Passion”. He built himself a few 911 race cars over the years... his were definitely “race cars” and his favorite tools for building them were his hammer along with a chain and come-a-long. My two favorites growing up following him around the garage were a yellow ‘73 RS he named the “Tweety Bird”. The other favorite was a 1995 993 that was built from at least two wrecked cars. One car had front damage and the other had rear damage. So he cut them both in half and welded the good halves together. After those cars he graduated to a few different GT3 Cup cars but both those “old girls” where my favorites by far.
I am taking ownership of his old 1977 911 that is a euro spec car that he imported here before I was born in the early eighties. I believe it’s an SC but not sure exactly as I’m having a hard time finding out exactly what it is since it’s a euro car. Either way he just kept it garaged for the last 30 years or so, kept it running for the most part and it ran last year as far as I know. Needs the breaks overhauled for sure before it’s road worthy... after it’s road worthy I will be diving into the car to restore it over the next handful of years. Needs fresh paint badly, some minor body work, and for sure needs an interior refresh.
Unlike the popular Creedence song I AM a “fortunate son”. Fortunate that my father had “Porsche Passion”. And fortunate that I can spend the coming years finding my own “Porsche Passion” with my fathers car.
I’ll be re watching this video for inspiration as I need it along the way.
Thanks and sorry for the long post
cjsawinski My condolences. That said, go continue the legacy. This is so awesome, if you happen to also have a soft spot for Porsches!
My deepest condolences, but life will not stop and the better news is that you have been left with a Porsche. My father died when I was sixteen and only left me with the passion to watches, motorbikes and cars, and a lot of old tools. :) I like Porsches since the early 80's, when I first had the chance to visit West -Germany from a communist country. Unfortunately due lack of discipline with money I never owned a Porsche yet. Even an original Porsche key-ring for the 80's I got as a present....I owned air-cooled, but they were VW Beetles. Anyway, I have a great collection of Christophorus Magazine from the 80's , that has been sent to Porsche Owners on Subscription. If you give me a mailing adress I send you a copy for free - try to find one where is something about your car. Let's connect! Here is my pinterest board I dedicated to Porsche Passion hu.pinterest.com/SilardMatrai/porsche-f%C3%BCr-die-freunde-des-hauses-porsche/ you can send me there a message too or instagram: silmatrai Cheers, Silard
My condolences. I appreciate your post and enjoyed reading it. That’s what I love about vintage cars. It’s like a time machine that keeps getting passed down in the family. My father is currently battling cancer and has a passion for Porsche and British sport cars (MG, Triumph). I too have that Porsche Passion, and I’m so thankful it clicked for while I still have time to share it with him. Lastly, I started a new passion that I think you would enjoy doing as well. Lately I’ve been getting up very early one Sunday morning a month (weather permitting) and going on a 1-2 hr ride to a great mom and pop breakfast place. It’s great because the roads are empty which allows you to enjoy the driving experience and think about about the little things in life that make you happy...
CJsawinski . At this point I would say to you.
I’m sorry for your loss. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Roll at your own speed
Sorry for your loss, sounds like an amazing man!!!! He lives on in you.
Still can’t believe this video was uploaded 8 years ago. The video editing is amazing even till now.
sometimes in life, something resonates with everything you feel, this is one of those moments. thx
What Mangus said, "they're relatively simple" sums up so much about most upper-end performance cars today. As in, "they ain't relatively simple". All that progress and it's harder to have that connection of DIY. I like this guy's sensibility of I wasn't so educated as to know rules or thing that can't be done. He has proven that passion, work, and vision trump so much of what schooling takes out of society. I'd like to share a brew with him. A real, supremely talented, regular guy who followed his instincts with hard work and look at the results.
I have watched this video more times than I have fingers & toes. Inspiring every time I watch it. I think if you take this attitude to doing anything in life it'll get you far.
@magnuswalker I never knew you where "the guy." What i mean by that is, that when I met you, I was giving some of your workers tickets near the original warehouse, you came out and were very nice and polite. I'm talking about back in 2005. You were like, hey bud, i know ur doing your job, but can you not cite us please. From that say, I would pass by and see people filming and maybe one of your cars, but never knew more than that. All i can say is that you treated me with respect, you were welcoming and you invited me to see inside where u had some of the filming. Over all, its awesome to know how well you have been, and this vid took me back to a good time in my life. I remember I wanted to live there so badly. I loved that brink building, and now that part of the art district is something else. Nothing like 2005. Cheers Magnus, thanks for being kind to me. I will always remember how cool you where to me.
Manners and kindness seem to be really scarce in the US, reading this
@@gregdynamite5769 in the city definitely, once you get out of the cities people are still nice and normal.
Nice of you to acknowledge that what we lack more and more in our world. Cheers
Moments are worth millions.... here for his hair, personality and Porsches
Most cops are just doing their job. They are the ones I respect. I'll take the ticket.
Amazing guy with real passion. An inspiration for me
Thanks for putting this channel together...Its great to have a single source for all of your videos.
My Outlaw is an RS tribute and it is such a rewarding experience to throw it around and make noise
+Tedward Thanks. More coming soon!
is this really Magnus?
hello tedward
Personally, I really like what Magnus does with his cars. He does his mods like an artist and with total respect to the Porsche brand.
Magnus, this video/movie literally uplifted me during my fathers last two weeks of life. I myself was going through some difficult relationship battles during that time of his passing and I leaned on one thing I've always leaned on in troubles...My passion for driving. You are an inspiration for my build in my Outlaw E24 BMW as well as my inspiration to keep pushing forward. I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart in jump starting and keeping my love for driving up front and center! A drivers ride is an extension of himself and you my friend, have helped continue keeping the analog experience alive! Thank you! "Long live the third pedal"!
You should post some pictures of that. Id like to see an old "outlaw" bmw. Im going to build an e30 myself this year and some inpiration would be awesome.
Will do Blake. Almost ready for the reveal.
Magnus Walker is not only an outlaw, he is a legend.
Not much of an outlaw...
He races on tracks and builds cars legally...
You re a clown if you call yourself an outlaw while living clean life!
It's so inspiring to see someone else's pure connection with, and passion for, driving. I look forward to more videos.
This was amazing to watch! He is so cool, without even trying. Amazing style, vision and an equally amazing and supportive wife. Good stuff!
The Mould was broken up,when this man was born. Jah Bless you and you deserve all the positives that come your way!!!
Ambassador for the UK!!!💜👍🇬🇧
This is probably my 20th time here… this vídeo is just my favorite on the entire internet. There’s something that I can’t explain about it. So much love making these, all that clothing story, the Porsches… it’s just different. Hope I can meet you some day Magnus, you’re my hero, your cars are my poster cars. Wish you the best, cheers from Brazil!
What a legend,no wonder the fella at 04:38 was hailing you like the great lord himself 🙏🏻 I’ve never owned a Porsche but watching your videos makes me feel passionate about them too
My passion, my words, my emotion..! THXS soul brother..! ...own, drive and work still on my first 911 SC 80 since 24 years... regards from Switzerland, Elev. 1100m. Love and Peace...
When I saw a rwb I liked the 911 but when I heard mr walker’s 911’s I fall in love with the car thank you man thank you
This man gets it… life is good but better with struggle. Bravo, Magnus.. Bravo
A brilliant film of a very interesting guy. The moral of the story for me is that with passion and perseverance you can achieve your dreams. Since I was a kid(I'm now 62) I've been drawn to Porsche for the esthetic beauty and that irresistible sound.
I don't own a Porsche. But, I have always admired them as work of art. You inspire me to get one and find the right road etc....
Thank you
This was brilliant 👏❤🤘The story, the passion, the music and the incredible talent of Magnus is second to none 🔥🌻🎥☮️
There is samething soul soothing about building your own car I found being proud of your work and being able to say I fixed and built it
Your a legend Magus keeping what you do
I love your Porsche 911 277 build it's beautiful
The first time I ever knew you existed was Need For Speed 2015
Magnus I actually met you this year at Rennesport 7. We chatted for a few minutes…actually I talked you looked puzzled…lol. I said good to see you and you replied “good to be seen”. I then knew I had figure just who heck you were. I have watched a lot of you videos…man you have it figured out. Amazing stuff and attitude.
This video is goosebumps tier good. There is nothing about this video or Magnus' personality that I could ever agree to dislike.
I never get tired of watching your videos, or seeing your cars.
Your a legend, inspirational.
I love when you said, " no one is ever gonna tell you that outlaw is not correct", and it reminds me that no matter what others say, he cars we build isn't about sitting fancy, it's about living the outlaw life!
hello magnus i like your lifestyle and your porsche passion, i am reading your book right now and sitting in my porsche garage next to my black 987 cayman, for me a worthy and affordable successor to my old 911sc which i lost 20 years ago through my divorce...it It's a gift when I'm chasing alone through Sardinia's mountains, valleys and countless curves on a Sunday morning....best regards from Sardinia, Salvatore....pedal to the metal

Properly self made creative bloke. Fantastic and an inspiration to all.
Magnus love the book so glad we get to see and hear Karen RIP!
I am enjoying seeing you and Hannah.
Watched Urban Outlaw so many times.
Thank You from tim in Alamogordo New Mexico. USA
A true inspiration, he is living the dream of mine & probably many others. I work my ass off & managed to buy my dream car at one stage, but had to sell it. This definitely inspires me to work hard & get back a car like it one day. If I have my dream car & a garage in which to tinker with it and put my own touches on it, I think I'll be happy. Thanks for the videos Magnus, your collection is incredible. Cheers.
Just glorious... after all of these years...
this "movie" is amazing, thank you Magnus, i admire your passion and i truly understand what you feel seated on one of your lovable cars, i had the same feeling but i've been forced to sell my loved one 911...my target now is, work harder, refill my wallet and go again on one of those iron.....thank you Magnus
Don't know how I stumbled across this on RUclips, so happy I did. You are the quintessential 'self-made' man. Totally awesome documentary.
Fantastic you have your own channel Magnus! Absolutely love this documentary, again my deepest condolences on the loss of your wife Karen. Best of luck in continuing to build these beauties, CheeRS.- Christian.
Works of art in my humble opinion. Still take me back to my childhood and the first time I saw a 911, I knew there and then that I had to have one.
Kudos to that DP. Gorgeous film
BRILLIANT REALLY BRILLIANT ( after over 50 years of success in petrol and wheels ) I have to say this is BRILLIANT RESPECT TO YOU MAGNUS
Bob Harris and Porsche, both are legends!
Who's here after the Go with your gut feeling TEDx? Dude!!! Such an inspiring story!!
I saw this when it 1st came out. I was a VW/Porsche mechanic by trade for 20 years. I saw this when it 1st aired. Still feels fresh. Feels right. Owned a small amount of step child Porsche's. 914's and 944's. Worked on 911's, 912's and 356's. He talks about the Porsche Passion. It's true. I'm of German descent as well. I have a hard time working on a non-German vehicle. I see car building in the same way Germans do. Now at the age of 50 I no longer work as a grease monkey. Now I can dedicate time to my own projects again. Let my passion flow once again.
I'm not a big Porsche fan but everything Magnus says resonates with me. It's like meeting my personality twin-brother.
Love the love between them two ❤
i have another level of respect for magnus now...would love to one day be able to build a car with him my creative thoughts and his combined for one special 911 would be amazing
2024. Magnus is that guy. Inspired to create my own 1/64 scale til I can get a 1972 911. thanks Magnus!
Amazing film about Magnus..he lives his dream...awesome..inspires me and many others I guess...
This is what its all about man, doing what ya love!
Nearly finished reading your book and came to watch this. Well done Magnus, it's always lovely to see someone get to follow their passion, and you'bve managed to do this more than once!! I'm about to get back into my old skyline vert, and thinking of you while reading has reignited my passion for cars a bit. Thank you for doing it your way!
Admire the cars, the passion and all the smiling inside!!! W I N N I N G !!! Thoroughly enjoyed seeing this, thanks for sharing!
Brother you are truly an inspiration my friend! Love your attitude your ideas your car collection. "Porsche Passion" I truly love Porches but after viewing this, love them even more! You are really a cool dude.... God bless...
You are the definition of a Driven Man. Your passion and purpose has changed my approach to cars, their condition and just getting on and enjoying them. Thank you.
Just classic Magnus - Very enjoyable snap shot into your world
Damn man, you have built yourself one hell of a nice life! How have I not heard of you sooner!
Just watched it again and reminded me of why I daily an old 911.
Brilliant film and Porsche craftwork! I'm a Porsche enthusiast, former 85 cab and current 95 cab owner, computer specialist, videographer and editor and immensely enjoyed all of the fine hard work and artistry that went into making this film. It's not often that I watch all of the scrolling credits but for this excellent film I watched all of them to learn who all put in a ton of effort to make this happen. Cheers to all of you for providing us this work of inspirational art! 👍😎👍
I really hope this area still makes sense for Magnus . I’ve been watching these for a couple years. I may not live in California now, but I do follow up with it and visit my friends and family . The homeless problem has gotten a lot worse.
About the 9th time I've watched this, we want more of this MW.
This is my kind of passion and fashion!!
Magnus walker rocks!!
Magnus lives up to, nay exceeds his name.
This film is mesmerizing
I loved Steve, such a soulful song, black coffee! No better cars than 911's!
Hi, I did not know who you were, never heard of you. Just saw a video proposal on the right of my RUclips screen and clicked on it. Liked it and did some digging and ended up here.
RESPECT!
Have a bit the same story line in my life (totally not so successful), I'm from '73. Drop out school at 16, started a business at 21, High-end interior painting, started a extra business 2 years ago (still in startup) in high-end interior objects. What you do is all about the passion that you have. You feel it or you don't. And when you feel it, it makes you alive. The feeling of freedom, turn left if you want to turn left, do the things you want to do in the most perfect way that you want... Priceless feeling.
One thing that is also very importent, its that bit of luck. Luck that you meet the wright people at the wright time an that they have a sort of sympathy for you. That they feel and understand your story.
Greets from Belgium.
Life imitating art or Art imitating life, Either way this is just wonderfully beautiful.
THIS IS WONDERFUL WORK OF ART.
So glad I got my Magnus walkers Nike dunk Sbs . First time ever hitting on the Nike sneaker 👟 app and I get the Grails. Thanks Magnus Walker 277

I absolutely love old 911's, actually I love all 911's. Love what you do with yours and how you build them. I have a 66 Karmann Ghia, completely rebuilt it myself and love this car too. Maybe someday my old air cooled ride will be a 911!
Never seen anyone like this dude before.
Your story so inspirational in so many ways thank you for helping me find the simplicity of driving my car again 👌🏿

Fair play, followed his dreams and intuition and devoted his time to things he enjoys. Great to see people not follow the rules and come out on top.
My 7year old son had a look at the video and saw Magnus on it.
”I think this guy used to catch mammoths a long time ago…”
