- In this video I will show you the top three reasons for a running or leaking toilet and how to correct them.
Parts used:
Toilet flapper: amzn.to/2qKwz8U
Fluidmaster Pro45 tank fill valve : amzn.to/2K297Nj
Toilet flush valve : amzn.to/2qMniNA - Хобби
Thank you very much. I followed all directions and it was still leaking. I uninstalled and reinstalled four times thinking I did something wrong. I gave up and was going to call a plumber. But- I came back here and rewatched and voila - my test (the test you show ) proved my parts were broken. Ah ha! I’m not one to give up easily so I went back to Home Depot and bought another one. Prepared the room for the work. Tools, buckets, etc.
within FIVE minutes my toilet was fixed!! It flushed, filled and the water actually shut off. I am so proud of myself. My husband was the type who fixed anything and everything But he died two years ago. I’m on my own now at 61. I always worked alongside him, fetching him things which taught me the names of tools, and taking mental notes. I put your video and his tools to work and did a perfect job. Last week I fixed my AC leak. It’s been a week of running water. Thanks to you guys on RUclips for sharing your knowledge and helping us learn as well
as saving a lot of money I Very much appreciate it.
Sorry 4 ur lost I know my husband always has been getting tools 4 him. When u said that I thought of us doing that my toilet when u flush it it runs awhile and now the water won't come in so I don't know
Good work!!
Of all the videos I've watched to address the leaking toilet problem, you are the only one that identified the problem I suspected after I replaced the fill valve and flapper and it still leaked but didn't know to fix it. Your demonstration has saved me an expensive plumber bill! Thank you.
You are one of the best teachers I have ever seen. I am a 61 disabled lady and was afraid to fix my toilet. I feel much better about it now. Thank you so much!!
I agree 💯. Everything I needed to know was explained by every detail. Amazing and wowsers.
This is great. Cutting out part of the tank was genius. People need to see what's going on in these videos. Too many show you AFTER they've replaced whatever they've replaced or you can't really see what's going on.
I'm retired & live alone. You did a very nice job of helping me understand the tank workings. Thank you.
Single mom here!!! This tutorial has perfectly explained the ins and out of toilets and how to diagnose a problem!!!! No need to call a plumber, I will DIY!!!! Thank you!!! Now I feel knowledgeable enough to fix my leaky toilet!!! I’m off to Home improvement store to buy my parts now!!!! Thanks again!!!
When you explain the details of how to repair a toilet, you do such a wonderful service for countless people trying to make it while the greedy powers continue to squeeze us without a care for us at all Bless you.
Oh my gosh, thank you very much for these thorough easy to follow instructions, this is the BEST how to fix a leaking toilet video I have ever watched. You have made a huge difference in my effort to fix my leaking toilet, and I am certain that other youtubers are in agreement with me.
Brilliant advice and a clear demonstration for people like me that can make this type of job ten times worse and far more expensive that it needs to be. Thank you!
This video was very well done. The language was technical (or NOT) enough to be understood by non-plumbers. All views of the toilet and the areas of focus was clear and unobstructed. Thank you for making this video! I'm looking forward to seeing some of your other work.
Thank you very much
You just saved everyone about $1000 thank you kind sir!🙏
Thanks for the tutorial. Love the way you cut the tank in half so we can see exactly what you are doing. I'm going to attempt repairing my own toilet, so I'm watching all these videos for tips. Very helpful. Thanks again.
Excellent explanation of all we need to know about toilet repair issues!! Thank you!
Best toilet video ever. I never leave comments but my toilet was running for ever a year! And this video saved me. Thank you
Danny the plumber you help me just by doing some adjustments you show me the adjustments and the tank .-
And it worked thank you so much that’s a $75 fee that I don’t have to pay for someone to come out just to do an adjustment thank you so much 😊👍🏽❤️❤️
One of the best tutorials I’ve seen. Keep it up!
Thank u so much , I am a single female home owner with a elderly parent l have 4 bathrooms and I recently found out one of my toilets was running and I didn’t realize it until my water company sent me a letter bringing it to my attention. I’m a new homeowner and I didn’t know it effected my water bill. Your demonstration was very simple and perfect , you saved me a bundle, thanks again I will surely be follow your page.
Very good lesson. I am retired 56y lady and I like to tinker with home repairs. When repairmen take too long I look at a video and see how hard it looks. Then if I can't get it I will wait for them.
GREAT TUTORIAL! I’ve taken plumbing jobs here and there as a handyman, and seems like toilets could be really profitable with some basics
Very good, thorough explanation. Thanks! I'll let you know how it went.
This is the first time, I am trying this. What do u know, I did it! You are the best!!!
The toilet in the master bedroom was running. I asked my lazy ass husband to take a look at it. He closed the valve and said he'd fix it tomorrow, but the water kept running and it bothered me how much water was going to waste. I watched this video, stuck my hand down the tank, and played around with the flapper...Voila! Thank you!
What lazy husband? What is he? Is he just making his dick big is that all? Oh my God. Push him to work and do more domestic work around ok😂
Almost a year with this problem plumber came out changed the flapper stopped for a few days and the running came back sooooo annoying 😡 not until I watched your video did I realize that little washer under the toilet just needed a few turns. Instantly stopped! Thank God for your channel We will have quiet nights here until we move next month thank you Sir🤗God bless your business!!!
So happy to have fixed MYSELF a leaky tank! The pride !!! Never in my life would I have attempted this before - but your video guided me so safely!!!!thank you !!!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thank u so much for this video.I was struggling the whole day and I watched ur video and solved it in just 2 minutes
This was very helpful, and I like that you use a dummy toilet so we can see things more easily.
I have experienced all the issues; toilets intimidate me! 😅 Such a detailed video- this will definitely help me in the future to diy my own repair and the tip to keeping all the old parts for references is a great one! An old tank bolt washer had come loose or ripped during a time a relative volunteered to replace the toilet parts and caused a major leak (I couldn’t figure out where it was dripping from and had to call a plumber who charged me almost $200 to change the bolt/washer 😭 The damage had been done and our living room flooring, bsmt ceilings/walls were soaked. Had to replace all flooring and it was thousands of dollars worth to fix. Wish I knew about those bolts!
Thanks for making the tank easy to see. Made a huge difference for me to understand.
Thank you for this. I actually had this issue after installing a brand new toilet. Turned out I needed to adjust the water level lower as it was too high overflowing into the flush valve.
Thank you for this video. I got my toilet fix. It was the third option by adjusting. My water bill went up more than double.
Thank you so much, this is the best RUclips video among all. It is so clear well explained. Again thank you for sharing.
A widow who can do things. Excited to see this and you explained so well I am going to fix my leek sound at night. I can do this with your help. Thankx

Your explanation was so great. Thank you very much!!
Thank you so very much. I have a better understanding how the toilet works and what needs to be fix in case of running water. I just fixed mine, it took 15 seconds to adjust
Clear, simple, practical explanation . Thank you .
Nice instruction. I didn't watch it before I did mine but now I know more than I did before. My job was fixing running toilet in which the renter broke the old float ball off so I went to Home Depot and bought a kit and changed the float and it shutoff right where it was supposed to. Again this was a nice tutorial which I will use if I have another problem in the future thanks.
Great teacher. Ive learned so much.. Fixed my problem half way through the video. Thanks!
Thank you sooo much for the detailed explanation of how to replace each part of this toilet thing!! Saved me money & a headache !

*NOTE: If it's in Winter... It's NOT leaking!
@@JodBronson, interesting. Why do you say that? Care to elaborate😁
@@anthonyz7023 - During Winter, Water comes in really cold so the Washer inside the refiller 'SHRINK', this will create a small leak. Once the weather warms up and it stops, then you know that is the cause. YES... NO ONE in the world can figure this one out but me!
One of the very best videos I've ever viewed! Thank You!
Thank You. My toilet is fixed in under 5 min. No more leaking. My water bills have been triple the normal amount.
I agree that you should replace the flapper with the brand designed for your particular brand and model of toilet. If you go to the big box and buy a “universal” flapper, you won’t get as tight a fit. It will reduce the water leak, but not completely eliminate it. Go to a plumbing parts store; tell them the brand and model number of your toilet (remove the lid and you will see it stamped into the porcelain). Or you can buy it online.
Great video! you've covered all areas!
Thanks so much!
Excellent tutorial video. All aspects very covered, well demonstrated and explained.

Best teaching !!!
Thanks a lot.
Outstanding Presentation.
Great video, I'm disabled and my toilet handle is on the right front of the toilet. I bought a universal new handle( says fits Mansfield toilets)that's for right side also. It worked good for a month, now having issues again. Sometimes when you push the handle down
When you push the handle down, you only get half a flush. So you don't need the floating ball anymore, when you replaced the parts?
Awesome video, very informative. Thank you!
Very versatile good method of explanation
Excellent video! Thank you!
Thank you for the awesome tutorial
Excellent tutorial! Thank you.
Awesome tutorial! Can't thank you enough!!!!
You explain vey well
Thank you!
Great video and explanation! You never got back to why you like the water fill tubing to be higher above the fill tube though. I’m about to do all of this so I will trust there is a good reason and will do it if I don’t hear back. Thanks!
Because if it is not the water will siphon itself back into the toilet bowl
Excellent presentation 👍🙏
