@JenniferHudy I would like for you to know that you are MY FIRST ‘SUPPER THANKS’. It made me feel really good and I hope you feel my gratitude. Thank you
Terry, I can't thank you enough. A plumber would have charge $150 just to turn that screw counterclockwise.A running toilet also increases the monthly water bill. You've saved me more than just money, resolving the problem gives me a peace of mine. Now my wife thinks I'm a handy man, I didn't tell her that I watched your video, wink, wink, LOL. Thanks again
You got me laughing Jed. Nice one man lol. I’m glad it worked out great for you and, you got it analyzed right. Thanks a bunch for leaving a comment. It really helps
It is 2am and all I want to say is THANK YOU! We were so worried to have to call the plumber tomorrow, but within 5 minutes of finding your video, the issue was solved!! 😊🙏🏿
I have a glacier bay toilet and this worked perfectly! I’m a teenager and still don’t know many basics of a home but this video was a huge help and it stopped that annoying running water noise. Thank you so much!!
I always feel like a damsel in distress when I can’t fix these things. This took me less than 2-3 minutes! You are a lifesaver and a timesaver! Thank you SO MUCH!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! After having to spend $4200 on fixing a sewer pipe [on Thanksgiving day}, still had clogs/slow flush which was addressed by the plumbing company and now have a running water toilet. Now back in the day, I knew what to look for but when I took the lid off my dual flush toilet it was a mystery. I stumble upon your video and took in a screwdriver and fixed the problem in less than a minute. It's the holiday season and I feel like this video is going to be one of my top best gifts of the season!
I just climbed happily back into my bed after fixing the annoying toilet running sounds coming from the other bedroom's bathroom in my house that I share a wall with because of this vid! It was super helpful to have you walk through the whole scenario. For me, there wasnt a screw but just twisting the rod counterclockwise did the same thing. And then I had to change the position of it, there was no other way to get it to stop dropping down so far but to grab and twist gently. Worked though! Did the same thing with the flappy thing, had to slightly reposition it. Done and done! At least for now, will keep monitoring and definitely planning to deep clean everything later because I'm certain at least the flappy thing will move out of position again unless I clean and/or replace it... thoughts? Anyways! Thank you for helping me get back to sleep!
Hi Freitalisa, Hopefully it holds for you. Deep cleaning certainly works. Thanks for checking out my video and leaving a nice comment. I appreciate you. Thanks again.
Terry’s you showed clearly how to fix the problem better then other videos. And it is absolutely annoying to have this problem. Thank you for helping me fix it.
You’re very well spoken and articulate despite not knowing the proper nomenclature of the components. Thank you for posting this video. I’m having the exact issue and all my experience was with flapper ball assemblies. Have a blessed day.
My toilet was hissing and had droplets of water coming in around the screw thingy. Well now thanks to you - it has stopped. The little screw needed to be tightened to stop the slow drip. I was dreading calling the plumber lady because she comes in and wants to fix everything except what you called her for. Thank you so much.
Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t even know how to respond. So so funny. She’d fix everything but what you called her for? Lol. I’m guessing I’ll have bursts of laughter all day today. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Have a lovely day.
@@TerryAkwue Hi! Turns out it was not the screw but the flapper. I replaced it and it's working nicely. I went from using 200 sometimes 300 gal of water a day to 200 gal sometimes 100. And she (the plumber) was just here. Instead she was upstairs messing up that toilet and leaving her long hair everywhere. Won't call her back... Thanks again.
Thank you for adding this video. I've been having this issue off and on for over a year and couldn't find the correct fix or the correct video. You saved from calling a plumber or just dumping the toilet and buying a new cheaper toilet.
Hi Terry I have the same product by American Standard. The worst time to jiggle the floater is a night when you are deep in your sleep and hear the sound of the running water. Little counter-clockwise rotation of that black screw solved the problem. Thanks for the video.
I hear ya! Any sound going for too long isn’t good for sleep that’s for sure. When you’re able to turn it off, you realize how much discomfort it’s been from the calm your body experiences instantly. Thanks for watching.
Terry… Terry… Terry… Thank you so much for this video. One of the two toilets was shut off for years because it started running shortly after purchasing it. Then the second started a month ago on and off. This video allowed me to fix both. Thank you! 🙏🏾
Thank you so much for being accurate about the problem.😊I followed your directions for lifting the lever for the tank water and voilà. Just to be sure I flushed the toilet again and no problem!!!!!! Liz Williams
Thanx Terry, mine is slightly different I didn't have to use a screwdriver I seen the dual flush thumbnail and immediately clicked on the video..saved a few dollars👍🏾
Thank you tremendously for this video! Ive held off from calling for a service tech to fix this but haven’t because of cost! You just saved me a ton! Thank you thank you
Awesome!! I’m sure it felt good being able to fix it. Thank you so much for letting me know my video helped. Hmm! I think I should do more videos. Thanks again, I appreciate you watching my video.
Terry, I think you helped me solve the problem that costed me $40.00 more on my last water bill. I followed what you did and I believe it’s going to work. I do Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❣️
It is greatly satisfying to see how much this video has helped my viewers and I’m glad you found some value in it. Thank you for watching and commenting as well. Thanks again
This worked perfectly! OMG I was about to buy a whole fill valve and that other part lmfao! Literally fixed with a screw driver, unscrewing it a little. Also I noticed the stem thingies under the buttons on top were weird, so i went to my other bathroom and sure enough they needed some adjusting. Thank you, HERO!
Judging from the comments I receive, this video has kept money in lots of pockets. I’m glad this video worked for you and thank you so much for the feedback. I appreciate you.
Thank you so much for this video. My HOA wanted to charge me to fix the toilet because I switched it out from what they installed to a " Glacier Bay". After three years I hear the running noise 😤. It worked!!😁
Thanks, Terry. I'll give that a try. I also have some rusty water pipes that are bringing in rust particles to the tank. Time to remove those old galv. pipes.
My toilet’s been running for weeks now and I was too lazy to look into it. Watched this video and it fixed my problem in less than a minute. 😂 Thank you!
Thank you. I was going to install a new fill valve but this was so much easier. Your explanation of how the screw controlled the level of fill was so intuitive!

Hi Jackie. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Comments help this channel and I thank you for taking time out to talk to us. I’m glad it worked for you
Thanks Terry, worked like a charm! Mine isn't American Standard, but I figure once you take off the lid of these top flushers, they're just like us - the same on the inside. Peace, out, brother.
@@TerryAkwue Tried everything...still runs. For now, we just turn off the water intake when not in use. I think it might have something to do with the lid...not sure. Anyway, have a great evening.
Thank you, thank you so very much Terry!!! I was at my end wits with this running toilet. I have the exact same toilet and your instructions were spot on!!! Thank you again!!!
Thanks a lot Sonya for checking out my video and I’m glad it helped you. I appreciate your feedback here, it helps a lot. Thanks guys for helping this channel
Thank you so much. I had a feeling something like that was happening to my toilet but because it's a new system to me I wasn't sure. You pinpointed the problem exactly. Subscribed.
Thanks Terry! This fixed my issue as well. In my toilet the black float cup was set just a smidgen too high so that when it stopped, the water level was just _barely_ leaking into the top of that white overflow tube, trickling into it until the reservoir level got too low for the black float cup triggering filling process all over again. I'm looking forward to a slightly lower water bill next month!

Thanks Terry, great video. I haven't tried it yet, but was totally clueless as where to even start. I'm familiar with standard toilets but this new one had really thrown me for a loop. Thanks to your video, I now at least know where to start. Thanks again.

It literally took me 30 seconds to fix once I saw your video!

Thanks Terry, great video. I haven't tried it yet, but was totally clueless as where to even start. I'm familiar with standard toilets but this new one had really thrown me for a loop. Thanks to your video, I now at least know where to start. Thanks again.
