    Before you put the headset you need to remember where your controller was because it going to be hard looking for it.

      jajajajaja it happens A LOT more than I'm going to admit ...
      I do this:
      1-adjust camera, so I know where I will be positioned
      2-on the side of the (1) position I put my cellphone, my two moves and my main controller IN THAT ORDER!!
      3-only then I put on the headset!

      I find it helps to use the button on the headset to push the lens all the way back. Then looking down I can see where I’m at. Then just slide it back in. Doesn’t affect the position at all so you don’t have to readjust :)

    One tip I found is not to have the headset pressed right up against your face as that'll fog up the lenses, leave a small gap.
    Also playing in a dark room helps the camera track the headset easier.

    • @MrMario2011
      @MrMario2011  8 лет назад +9

      +Larry Bundy Jr Yep, so different as well as I've been using an HTC Vive at a friend's place and the tighter you have it on the better it is. PS VR really likes to fog up which gets much too annoying.

    • @Larry
      @Larry 8 лет назад +14

      *****
      I've been rubbing a product called "cat crap" on the lenses to stop them fogging up. It's supposed to be for motorbike helmets and underwater goggles, but is perfect for VR too.

    • @bestistmate
      @bestistmate 7 лет назад +15

      Hi Harry , The reason it fogs is because the lens are colder that your temperature. If the head set is kept warm this will get rid of it . If it mists up just click it out a few second and you will see it evaporate. then move it back

  • @tootingbowles4607

    One of the things I found was that sometimes one eye was out of focus rather than both. When your setting up the headset on your face, shut one eye and get that image focused, then do the same with the other eye. Then open and close each eye to ensure that both images are focused the same.

    • @MajorisMons

      Tooting Bowles I think the headset is right eye dominate, as the social screen shows what is being seen only from the right lens. if that make any sensr

    • @sarcasm-83
      @sarcasm-83 7 лет назад +5

      I sometimes feel like my eyes are slightly too wide apart for the lenses.
      It's not a huge deal but at 74mm IPD I feel that when I move the headset so my right eye is fully sharp from the middle of my view, the left one only has a sharp area to the right and the vision at the very center of my left eye is already in the "blurryness of the left lense-edge" territory. If I then move the headset so the left eye gets a sharp vision, the right one will then be on the fringe of being in the "edge-of-the-lense blur" territory.
      I quite wish they had managed to build some kind of sliders to move the lenses either a tiny bit closer or wider apart.
      I mean, it's not a huge deal, I set it at the middle and most of the center in my view is sharp enough that when getting into the game, I won't pay much attention to it, but .. anyway. I think a person with an IPD at the middle of the spectrum (63mm) will have the best experience with the headset.

    I have some simple advice. For the best head tracking response, after performing your calibrations, playing in a darker room greatly improves the headset tracking (especially any jitters in the image). I've found that in a well-lit room I experience a lot of image jitter. This also applies to tracking both the motion controllers and dual shock controller.

    Never toss your lens cleaning cloth on a dirty surface. Any small particles that get picked up can scratch and damage your lenses. Also, don't use your lens cloth to clean the PSVR surface. Again, dirt and grime gets on it. You want your lens cloth to stay as clean as possible.

    Few tips that work for me.
    Get a color-changing bulb or lamp for your room and set it to green. The green light helps the tracking lights stand out from the background, people using the aim controller for Farpoint have reported a huge improvement with weapon stability with virtually no weapon shake when using a green light.
    Check your background thoroughly. I got annoyed with my tracking issues, and realised that behind me I had a window and a mirror, both of which were reflecting the blue light from my headset, in addition to that my PC was in the background and the power light also shines blue, all these reflections and blue lights were confusing the camera. Once I fixed that I had a much better experience.

    Wear your glasses (if you have them) with the headset...I'm near sighted and still had a slight blur with the headset regardless of how it was positioned on my head or how I cleaned them. I have a light prescription for driving glasses because my vision sucks at night. When I used my glasses in the headset, the difference was night and day. It was like switching the headset to HD immediately.

    Tip tip for glasses wearers, take out the rubber face mask, dim your lights/close your curtains, and turn on a fan, then your glasses don’t steam up in summer! Also, bonus, you can look down and see where you put your controller/s. Be sure to add plastic ‘lens protectors’ to the headset that you can buy on eBay, they prevent your glasses from touching the vr lenses and scratching them.

    Also remember to extend the visor before putting on or taking off the headset to prevent smudging the lenses (and remind anyone who you let use your headset)
    And when adjusting the positioning of the headset on your head, do it with the visor extended so you can really center the lenses to your eyes.
    The clarity of the headset isn't really determined by how clear you see the image on the screen, but how clear the "grain" (or actual pixels of the headset) are. Sometimes I found that even with the headset correctly adjusted, the screen still looks blurry, but thats just a limitation of the technology.

    I've just started on resident evil 7 vr and I understand that that was 1 of the early vr releases, it is a bit grainy but I did these adjustments in your video and its seems to have smoothed things out considerably. the walking dead saints and sinners is now out on ps4 and that game looks badass bro, I'm looking forward to seeing how the overall graphic textures have come along since RE7 compared with the release of the walking dead which got released on the 5th of this month I beleive. thx for the tutorial anyway dude, peace. ✌🇬🇧✌

    For the cleaning section you can remove the light shield completely and rinse it off in a sink with warm water, just pull very gently.

    I personally discovered quite quickly that if the headset was even slightly off centre on your face (I.e the lenses are slightly above or below your eyes) that the image would bend and blur really badly so you must make sure that you adjust the height if the headset on your face perfectly every time (a bit of a pain I know)

    This is more of a low tech tip but if you don't have/don't want to pay for a stand but want somewhere to sit your headset while it isn't in use. I drape the microfiber cloth over the lens and sit my headset on the top of an old lampshade. It does the trick and I just roll the cord around the inside of it :)

    Thank you, I just always felt my eyes weren’t straight or even enough to enjoy a clear PSVR experience. It’s good but if i look away from center it blurs. I am beginning to think it’s not me, maybe my OCD?, but it’s not a 100% perfect clear HD image everywhere all at once.

    After seeing this Video I calibrated my Headset again and voila...

    the screen where you make sure the letters are clear can be found just by holding the ps button and going to adjust vr headset also you can reset the screen there so its not way off. This way you don't even need to go into settings you can just do it on your main menu and even in game on some games.

    I haven't found the inter-pupillary distance makes any difference to eye strain, but it DOES affect the scale of things in VR. For example, if all the NPCs seem child-size, make the pupil distance smaller. If everything seems too big, move the pupils further apart. This was driving me nuts until I realised how to fix it. It seems the default scale of the world is a little too small.

    I find out that, for me, making one eye lower than the other (moving the psvr slightly lower on one side) make it way better. Just setting the eye adjustment didn't do it. People also have to keep their glasses on, as the psvr will not adjust for your eye sight. Having astignmatism myself, i HAVE to keep my glasses. just make sure to keep your glasses very close to your eyes (bring them all the way to the top of your nose) and then bring back the headset CAREFULLY and slowly back toward them until everything is clear. You can scratch the lenses though so be sure you use glasses elastic (sport type) to keep your glasses hook back tightly. Hope this help.

    Something is not talked about specially for those who wear glasses and I noticed it after a while , is that glasses scratches the lenses of your PSVR which you need to protect them by a plan of somekind! And also if you have scratches already then you need to watch videos of how to make the scratches less by using some of those chimical creams that fixs cds or glasses

    I'll say this once, it's up to you how you clean it anyway. Sony adamantly stated not to use any type of liquid on your PSVR lenses, only the microfibre cloth.

    • @MrMario2011
      @MrMario2011  8 лет назад

      +SlashingShadow copying and pasting this response that I just typed to someone else who referred to the manual but said their lenses are now nasty because screw retyping stuff on a phone:
      That's why I used the lens cleaner, even after some time the microfiber cloth alone isn't enough. Friends I've talked with who have used VR for a while as well as several places I looked online pointed to the direction that it should be fine, but it's really up to you.

    I heard that the Sony reps demoing PS VR at PAX were using a standard spectacle lens cleaner to clean the headset lenses as they are also made of glass, unlike the Rift and Vive's which are a kind of plastic. Proceed with caution, though.
