Tony, thanks for the video. I know it’s old but the Big Rock was on sale and I wanted to move into some bashing. This video and the others you have done helped me make my decision. From what I can see it appears to be a solid, quick and reliable rig.
I love my big rock, i've upgraded mine with a wider stance like this new version n it handles nice, also I put the hot racing steering bell crank in mine to improve steering
Had to revisit this video for the ESC tuning. I don’t know why I took so long to get this latest V3 of the 3S line. Sooo happy with my Senton and Granite.
@@CCxRC Also you notice the new pinion gear ? D shape to fit securely on the shaft with an E clip , I may upgrade all my rigs to this style of pinion gear .

I have this truck. Great truck so far except I had trouble with the axle screw backing out and the wheel coming off. I thought it was broke, but ended up putting lock tight on all four just in case. Otherwise I've beat the heck out of it and it's going well so far.

I’m not really sure either, but they say it’s “Specially designed castellated shape for maximum torque transfer efficiency”. It’s the design they used in the 4s models.
Great review CCRC! I know I'm in the minority when I say this. The only thing I don't like about the Big rock v2 is the body color. Give m color over any boring black vehicle any day . Hey but that's just me. Rock looks great from vides I've seen. :)

But i wanted to ask if you could find a surface that has gravel to test this rc,, cause you see here in Greece it's the most common surface that you can have access to. Plus there is a huge park near me with loads of gravel and i would like to see how it performs !!!
What's your long term thoughts on the big rock vs granite? I'm trying to decide. I have a Kraton 6s already. I'm looking for something smaller that fun to jump and rip around in smaller places where the kraton is just too big. The granite seems cool because it's so wild, but is it annoyingly wild or manageable? Big rock does not look as agile in the air. Thanks

They cost the same as all the batteries I've bought. I haven't bought batteries from Amazon before. I choose them because they will auto discharge to storage safe if unused. The only impact that being an influencer has is that I charge a lot of batteries thinking I'll record a video and then don't get to using them all and either unsafely leave them charged...or spend my money to get batteries that will discharge and store themselves in a safer manner. That's why I invest in them and have bought two Bat-safe XL storage containers for them. They are full of Venom and Spektrum batteries. These days I charge the Spektrum ones unless I know I will use them...then do the Venom batteries and try to stop my runs around 3.80V per cell to quickly put them in storage mode. But yeah....I just was moved to part time at my job because of this pandemic...so I will have less to spend...which has nothing to do with being an influencer. People think being an influencer means everything is free and I don't have to spend any money. It's almost the opposite. I spend a ton of money on this hobby. Probably over 20k already this year. So keep saying what everyone is thinking but hopefully this gives a better glimpse of reality. This isn't a money maker for me.
I will tell you one thing that everyone who buys one of these should do when you purchase one and that is to buy an upgraded servo because I guarantee that you that if you are going to use this truck as intended you will definitely need a new one within 2 weeks . They just are not up to the task at hand .Other than that , bash away !!
Definitely black out underneath.... I used gunmetal then gloss black. That flat black is on the outside of the shell so the first time you roll it scratches & scrapes are gonna shine straight through
So I have the brushed typhon granite and Senton and I had to replace the servo on all three and the shocks on all three funny thing is two of the cars I replaced with servos that are over 20 years old and they work better than the stock ones I’m going to buy the Kraton 4S we’ll see how long the shocks last and the servo if the servo dies I still have more 20 year old ones maybe I should sell them to Arrma

Granite is a better basher i think.Senton is for on-road speed runs, due to lower center of gravity.In general, if you change tires with smaller (in diameter) you could gain stability but you'll loose top speed.

Anyone have to adjust steering from factory to make it go straight? Wasn't sure if this was just a normal thing but my front wheels weren't pointed too far away from each other . My truck wanted to steer left. It steers straight now. Love my big rock v3
Great review .. Am having a problem with ESC LVC it triggers sooner than it should getting 10mins with 3s 5000mah lipo .. Searching the internet seems to be a common issue with this ESC .. Did you have this issue? what battery are you using?

You want to get the SPektrum 3s 5000mah battery with an IC5 plug and at least a 50c rating. bit.ly/SPK3s5000m50c. But to charge it, you need an adapter. bit.ly/ic5-ic3
So on lipo battery does the “100c” make it last longer? Shorter? Faster? I’m trying to figure out which one I should get. To make it go fast but still last a long time.
Hopefully I don't screw this up but how I was told is the mAh is the gas tank AKA how long it lasts and the C is the size of the gas lines aka how much power it will dump to the motor.

The reason why I'd chose the Big Rock, over the Granite is because it has a wider platform. It helps it much more with stability.
Making me want to program my ESC I swear I just need a card reader I always lose track of the beebs lol

Nice overview Tony! Yeah that wheel wrench is useless for the wheel nuts it's not strong enough, that red tool only good for slipper adjusting.

Put a bigrock body on an Arrma senton v3 blx. I did, it wheelies!!!

Why is the gearing not greased? Is that something you should do, or not necessary here due to the nature of bashing and dirt?

No. That would be the punch level in the ESC
have you had any problems with the radio system, like a delay in the response
Why is the radio so much nicer on the vorteks than the big rock and the big rock is more expensive, having that radio on the big rock would be great.

I don’t have equipment to do a load test. I just use batteries that work well for me and my pair these ones have been great in my 3s and 6s cars.

They went up here about $30. That’s due to all the upgrades, fans, new radio, bearings, better diffs etc.
